Isn't it wonderful that we have the recordings of Judith? We'll never hear her like again. There will be--there are--other divine women's voices, but none like Judith's. I'm one of many who've been privileged to hear her singing from the beginning of the Seekers' career.
When Judith breaks in on verse 3 the hairs on my neck stood on end!! This woman was pure gold and she should be ranked as one of the greatest of all time as a singer and human being. RIP dear Judith - you have made a fan of me after 50 years of missing your greatness!!
Wonderful song about our great country Australia. We played this song at end of my Pa's funeral every time I hear it I think of him and everything he taught me🇦🇺
A truly sad day when we lost Judith on Saturday august 6, 2022. A beautiful singer and a beautiful soul. We will never find another you, Judith. ❤️❤️😢😢
She was absolutely one of a kind and we shall never hear her like again. Nor will we ever see again the likes of the extraordinary woman who died a month and 2 days after Judith. Perhaps Judith is now singing for Elizabeth.
Judith Durham has that special sound that just brings tears to your eyes when she sings,as a kid in the 60s the seekers were sensational and here she sounds even better and they were always harmonious as a group.
The only reason it isn't our national anthem is: ♪Rich white boomers, old white boomers~♪ Not all of them, just the ones who sold their souls to the Mining Man. Racists, monarchists, traditionalists who hate change. This song unites a lot of us more than our pitiful excuse for an anthem ever did.
I, as an Australian have never been a fan of "Nationalistic Anthems", for too many cling to such things, as justification of abuse against others. This song brings people together. That is what I need.
The three best female pop voices, IMHO, are Karen Carpenter, Anne Murray, and Judith Durham- and this lady is tops. She’s better now, than when she was a young woman. What an amazing song, an incredible group, and incredible harmony.
My nephew visits Australia frequently because of its beauty and the people. I frequently watch RUclips about Australia for the beautiful music and content.
As a South African, this song is just amazing. Makes me want to pack up and move to Australia tomorrow❤. Aussies are great people, and one of my favorite countries.
I sit here listening to this beautiful song thinking of my georgeous wife who passed last year and the wonderful voice of Judith who gave us so many wonderful memories ,may you both rest in eternal peace
I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SHARE ONE OF MY BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE IN AUSTRALIA. We were new here in 2004 just moved from U.A.E. as we are originally Indians but were living in U.A.E for 20 plus years and all kids were born and brought up there. When my eldest son was 18 yrs old and my husband decided to move some secure and good country for kids future...and so we decided to move to Australia, and we were here than on Business and investors Visa.. My youngest Daughter was than 7 yrs old and was in Grade 2, She attended her School, it was her first or second week in new School in Australia,.. and Teacher in Class was teaching them "THAT WE ARE ALL AUSTRALIAN, WE SHOULD RESPECT OUR COUNTRY, WE SHOULD LOVE OUR COUNTRY". and my Daughter told her Teacher ,I am not AN AUSTRALIAN, I was born in MID-EAST, I AM AN INDO-ARAB GIRL....WHY SHOULD I LOVE THIS COUNTRY, MY FRIENDS ARE ALL IN MID-EAST,...I AM ALL ALONE IN HERE,....I HATE TO BE HERE, her Teacher called me and told me about what had happened in the classroom, I explained her ,we have just moved here, she misses everything she had left back, KINDLY PLEASE help me and my Daughter.. The Teacher was so much AMAZINGLY GOOD, UNDERSTANDING my situation , she immediately told OK "MRS R" you don't worry we will take care of this, WE are TRAINED to handle this SITUATION and she promised me "YOUR DAUGHTER WILL START CALLING HERSELF SOON I AM AN AUSTRALIAN GIRL." I THANKED HER, but was still worried how can I help my girl feel home here , BUT to my amaze when she came home from school, she was different and was so much HAPPY, telling me MOMMY my Teacher "MRS BROWN" have given me a singing part in my School Concert... I have to learn this SONG, come mother help me memorize this part of song... I told ok what's the song is show me... and this was the song. I';m not Australian. but like this song a lot. feel calm, peaceful when listen to it. such a beautiful song. It is very same to Australian people - friendly, humble, simple, nature, kind, relax , not showoff and strict .
My son always loved trains, and when he was little I used to sing 'Morningtown Ride' (I was a Seekers fan) when I put him to bed. He still loves that song! My song is "I am Australian"; I can't stop singing it, and it makes me cry every time. OH and I spent a holiday in Australia visiting friends some years ago, and I absolutely LOVED it there. Too late to move there, I'm 80 now. Love the videos that go with the songs, though.
I remember as a very young boy living in London in the 60s listening to the Seakers. They were my dads favourite group. He always commented that Judith "RIP" had the voice of an angel. You weren't wrong dad, bless your soul.
This is a Truly Great Song and sung by a Great Australian Group. What an angelic voice Judith Durham had. This song captivates me every time I hear it.
Never going to happen. Schools here still teach that Australia was ‘discovered’ by Europeans, when, quite clearly, Aborigines had been here for at least 40 000 (maybe 60 000) years.
In my seventy years on this planet I have been blessed to experience many wondrous voices, both male and female. To pick my top 5 female singers is difficult. The amazing Judith Durham has to be in there. She has a special quality that makes her unique. Thankful that the Seekers came together to make such great music. I am Australian should be made their national anthem. 🤔🤔
This video is 13 years ago, it was honest about recent history and a factural statement about such events, only mention about the VOICE was Judith's purity.
This is a song of unity, a hope that we can all be one, the indigenous and those that came after. We can't change history, but we can embrace the future. This song would be a perfect national anthem.
Funny that the youtube algorithm guided me here 3 days after my citizenship ceremony. Despire being a new immigrant, This song still gives me goosebumps even after listening to it for the 10th time. Couldnt be prouder to call myself an Australian.
I get that everyone praises Judiths voice, but what about the boys? They also had fabulous voices and Judiths Soprano tied the harmony together. Let’s just be happy we got what we did!
I have always loved this great group, all the members. I did geologic field work in Moura in Queensland staying at the Coal and Cattle Inn in the 1990s and I understand the people. I should have stayed! Long live The Seekers!
RIP Judith Durham, the voice of an angel that will never die
Isn't it wonderful that we have the recordings of Judith? We'll never hear her like again. There will be--there are--other divine women's voices, but none like Judith's. I'm one of many who've been privileged to hear her singing from the beginning of the Seekers' career.
RIP Judith. This song should have become Australia’s national anthem. God bless your soul.
Here here
This should be our National Anthem 🖤💛♥️
agree
Agreed without doubt mate.
Hell, I'm an American and this puts a lump in my throat. The Seekers were/are special.
Makes me proud to be an Aussie.
I’m so happy to be Aussie .
I’ve never been more proud to be Australian

Judith is 79 today.
This needs to be our national anthem rather than the one we have. Such a beautiful voice Judith had... RIP

This should be our national anthem. Beautiful.

Thankyou Judith Durham. A voice of an Angel. Love you. R.I.P...😭❤❤❤❤
Thank You Bruce. Our Indigenous Brothers and Sisters have taken you music to another level, when singing in language. Again, thank you.
Judith Durham is one of the few singers who can make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
Rolf Harris managed it too, but for very different reasons.
I'm italian but this song gets me special emotions. The Seekers are simply fantastic.
The song is as grand as the Nation of Australia --Bravo
From a Brit, this is the song that encapsulates all of the greatness of your wonderful country and all Aussies. Wonderful.
I'm an American, and I sing along like I'm an Australian. I sometimes wonder if this should be their national anthem.
Ask most Aussies they will agree, better than what we have got
Fuck yeah. Better than the dusty racist shit we got.
Here they show the fighting spirit of Australians.
Yes we would love this song as our national anthem
The only reason it isn't our national anthem is: ♪Rich white boomers, old white boomers~♪ Not all of them, just the ones who sold their souls to the Mining Man. Racists, monarchists, traditionalists who hate change. This song unites a lot of us more than our pitiful excuse for an anthem ever did.

Yes been saying it for years, inclusive of every Australian, should be the anthem !

Love this song by Bruce - It definitely should be the Aussie National Anthem, so much better than the one they have!
R.I.P Judith Durham. I was blessed to be raised listening to your beautiful voice
One of the best songs ever written by one of the best groups the world has ever seen

Bruce Woodley's masterpiece.
Australia’s Judith Durham passed away Friday 5 August 2022 at the Alfred Hospital in Prahran, Victoria. R.I.P.
Rip Judith 🙏 🕊 💜
i cant express the emotions this song gives me. Judith was inspirational. the seekers are brilliant. always was .
the seekers were and still are my favourite group. ...... lots of memories come back to me from the sixties, my teenage years! thank you.
The three best female pop voices, IMHO, are Karen Carpenter, Anne Murray, and Judith Durham- and this lady is tops. She’s better now, than when she was a young woman. What an amazing song, an incredible group, and incredible harmony.
I'd have to replace Anne Murray (much as I like her) with Linda Ronstadt. But Judith is, and will always be, #1 to me.
I view this video many times daily...a grateful habit
I am an Indian. I feel tears in my eyes when I listen to this.
@Rick Farrugia poor judgement, mate.
@Rick Farrugia worse than previous🤭
@Rick Farrugia you are completely in wrong direction.
R.I.P. beautiful Judith Durham.
My nephew visits Australia frequently because of its beauty and the people. I frequently watch RUclips about Australia for the beautiful music and content.
She may be gone but as long as we keep watching, she'll always have the voice of an angel.
Coming fro Canada, this song brings me to tears... its a wondeful song, and Judith's voice ........ so beautiful. God bless the Seekers
