The current British monarchy is a glorious one, but it has also been a shaky one. 1992 was a year of disrepute for the Royal Family. Princess Anne, the Queen's only eldest daughter, and Prince Charles, first in line to the throne, paid a huge price for the preservation of a fragile monarchy, a price that had been foreordained from the moment they were born.

@@annhewett9622 , you can’t really use non-royal Average Joe logic on relationships when it comes to a man in his 30s at the time saying no to his family on his choice of a wife. Any of us can say no to our family and to hell with how they react to our decision. But Charles, it was different. There were certain rules that royals have always been expected to follow… especially a future king’s choice of a wife. It sucks for both him and Diana that their marriage looked great on paper (she was a young virgin with no past in relationships), but turned out to be disastrous in reality. Royals have also married people they didn’t necessarily love for centuries! Lots of arranged royal marriages and spouses who couldn’t stand each other! Charles and Diana’s pitiful marriage is nothing earth shattering. When we look at royals, all we see on the surface is a nice wardrobe, living in palaces, fame and fortune, and we assume that they have the greatest lives. But they have to live with so many rules to appear to be that “perfect” and “ideal” family to lead the nation. I would find that kind of life to be very suffocating! Anyway, I got off in a tangent sort of. What all that has to do with Charles being able to say no to marrying her is that it’s not that simple. It’s not about his character… it’s the position that he was in as heir to the throne to pick the “right” bride. Eventually, the royals learned - and the hard way - that sometimes it’s not always best to push these marriages because it will backfire on them. Whether or not you like Camilla is irrelevant… she has been a great support to the King as a spouse should be. The way he and Diana clashed, I doubt she would’ve been that supportive of him. Anyway, that’s my take on why he couldn’t say no… it wasn’t that simple.

However, now that the Queen is gone, I’ve discovered that there’s more to Charles than what the media has showed us. Is he complicated ?, YES, but he has his reasons like most of us. I’m glad he’s finally King (Not here for Camilla, she’s a peasant) and I pray he pulls through this cancer diagnosis. Princess Anne, is sorely underrated and under appreciated in my opinion. She has a sense of Duty to the Crown that is nearly unmatched. Much respect to her for caring for her mother in her last years and her many contributions to charity.

You need to work out your bitterness, a bit. This marriage--Charles' and Dianas'--was not _your_ marriage. No need to get all emotional and take a side. I can not figure out why people who never met Diana want to advocate for her; she was just as rotten, if not even more rotten, toward Charles as he was towards her. She melted down on him, pushed, hit, and kicked him in front of witnesses, and slept with a parade of men (some of them married) before Charles divorced her. She is to blame for her own misfortune.

Diana gave the House of Windsor a shot in the arm. Instead of being jealous of Diana's popularity, Charles could have taken pride in her virtues and reveled in her reflected glory. But Charles thought of himself as the main event and there was no room for sharing the spotlight. I don't know whether he asked Diana to show him more deference, but putting him first would have smoothed his ruffled feathers. The family made a mistake by cooling Charles' romance with Camilla. Charles and Diana needed to have a much longer engagement, which would have exposed his commitment to Camilla.

I mean who else is going to be villinized? Who else are people going to blame? It wasn't what Diana said about him or about Harry's book. Charles is the one who chose to propose to Diana without loving her. His friends were absolutely correct. That marriage was never going to work if he never intended to make it work. None of the rest would have ever happened, such as Harry writing a book, had he not married Diana. He brought that on himself 🤷‍♀️

    • @pinkosmondfan
      @pinkosmondfan 3 месяца назад +2

Except, of course, Harry chose to write the book. Many people come from a home where the parents didn't 'love' each other, if you believe Charles didn't love her. (He did, of course). But not everyone who comes from a home like that chooses to go out and write a book that is full of half-truths and and serves no purpose but to whine and cry about how terrible their childhood was. Most people choose to grow up and move on with their life and, hopefully, do better than they think their parents did. But Charles marrying Diana didn't cause Sparry to write this book. He chose that all by his big, grown up, self.

@@pinkosmondfan Charles and Camilla were involved before and after Charles married Diana. It was more than Charles not loving Diana. He was involved with Camilla too. Camilla was also married with 2 kids herself when that was happening. You can't chalk this up to something like this happening all the time. Then Charles decided to marry Diana knowing this circus was happening and he did not love Diana. Why involve her in the first place? And you want to blame Diana and Harry for getting hurt? My entire point is that if Charles would have never even proposed to Diana, there would have been no Diana to say anything about him and no Harry to write a book. Charles brought that on to himself along with Camilla.

    • @Rhianalanthula

Camilla's family is not from nobility. Charles was expected to marry nobility; t'hat was his duty. Others in the family didn't want him to marry someone else who wasn't from nobility. Anne, being female and way down the succession, was able to marry more or less whoever, Charles, at that time, did not have that luxury. Charles was sent abroad. I can't remember if it was on behalf of the Queen as part of a diplomatic trip or with whichever of the armed forces he was in at the time. During this time, Camilla married Andrew Parker-Bowles. Probably only because Charles wasn't around. Diana was from nobility and single. It seemed to be that they were forced together.

For all of his ,” sensitivity, and kindness” he still violated his marriage vows and tormented Diana, ( a troubled heart in her own right) I believe cherish is the word. Had he cherished her as his wife and the future Queen, this would be a different documentary altogether.💔 and to me (with no dog in the fight) looking on from the outside in, it looks like two people, Charles and Camilla selfish from the start, wanted what they wanted and ruined two families and their legacy to have it! Part of this forever divide is because you reap what you sow #teamDiana

Their marriage was doomed from the start since they were as incompatible as two people could be. It would never have worked, with or without Camilla or Diana’s numerous lovers. It would have been torture for them both if they had kept up the charade just for the sake of not breaking their marriage vows. What is the point of two people staying together and feeling miserable ? That would be such a waste of precious life time.
Personally I don’t believe the narrative of the innocent princess who was the perfect loving wife and the cold hearted prince. They both made mistakes, they both suffered and lots of things only came out after Diana’s death.
I think it’s time to let bygones be bygones. Why do you have to be „team Diana“ or „team Charles“? A marriage failed, like millions of others. What exactly went on behind closed doors we will never know and frankly, it’s none of our business. If Diana had known how little time she had left, maybe she wouldn’t have lashed out at her husband and her in-laws the way she did. She gave her famous interviews at a time of great bitterness, which probably everyone feels when a marriage breaks down. Would she have acted in the same way if she had known that she would never be able to put her harsh words into perspective again and sound more conciliatory? I don't know.
Anyway, this all happened decades ago and Charles and Camilla have grown old together. Soon their journey will come to an end. Camilla has always been a great support to the King in a way Diana could never have been. Not because she was bad, but because she and Charles were not made for each other, they were not soulmates like he and Camilla obviously are. It’s not fair to reduce them to their failed marriages. They are so much more.

I'm reading comments and it's surprizing how people forgive a man who drove an innocent woman mad and how she recovered when she separated from him and how she was secretly assassinated. It's appalling how over the years, people are blaming her due to all the publicity done by him and forget the abundant evidences available in history.

What an idiot comment! She was not driven mad and not secretly assassinated. It's difficult to see how she is now being blamed wholly for the break up of the marriage when it has simply been made evident that she was not completely guiltless for the failure of their union.

When we see Prince Charles s life recounted in the present video, we still have admiration and appreciation for the person of Prince Charles.
However, it appears that, this video aims to enhance the public figures of both Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, now King Charles III of the U.K. and Queen Camilla. As stated at the beginning of the video, maintaining a certain mystique of the Reigning Royalty is something important to maintain its prestige , given the long period of reign of many Monarchs .
And , in this sense in the U.K. the history of British Media behavior shows us that they carry out too strong , and exaggerated scrutiny , of the British Royal Family, which makes life very difficult for many of the members of the British Royal Family.
It seems that, perhaps at his advanced age for the first marriage of a future King, the marriage of Prince Charles with Diana Spencer must have taken place too quickly, there not having been enough time for a better mutual understanding of the lovers Charles and Diana, and little preparatory time for Diana's integration into the British Royal Family's way of life.
It is true that Diana came from an Aristocratic Family, predicate that should allow Diana Spencer's masterful performance at public events of the British Monarchy (in fact, Diana attracted crowds) , but she was probably used to an environment of greater freedom. Furthermore, in the video they criticize Diana for being emotionally unbalanced, but an unbalanced person does not play the role of Philanthropy, and of supporting very divisive situations, and of great social stigma, as were the cases of supporting patients with AIDS at the beginning of the 90s, visiting directly with patients of this illness, or to encourage politicians to demine territories in Angola, territories mined during the civil war
    Angolan !!!
As for Camilla Parker Bowles, I believe she makes great efforts to play her role as Queen well, and to be a good support for her husband, King Charles III. However, if she were a person with as many qualities as they suggest in this video, she would always have been a factor in uniting , and of supporting, Diana Spencer's two children, namely Prince Harry, as he will never have the privileges of Diana's first son. , Prince William, future King of the U.K.
And, it seems that Camilla was more of a factor in distancing than supporting Prince Harry.
Just remember that, according to reports, Camilla was furious because on the day she was going to give a speech about Domestic Violence, Meghan had a visit to a school. However, in recent times several activities have taken place on the same day by several members of British Royalty.
It seems that members of the top hierarchy of the British Royal Family wanted to get rid of Prince Harry , because they never liked Meghan's way of being, and due to Prince Harry's popularity in
U.K. , and that's why they wanted to get rid of Prince Harry , even allowing the British Media will do everything they can to destroy his professional life, behavior very unworthy of any Family, and especially a Royal Family.

Harry is a Traitor who is always pushing his Victim Narrative. He accuses his family of things he and Meghan are guilty of (i.e. leaking to the press, violating a person's privacy, jealousy, racism, bullying, misogyny, elderly abuse, defamation, misinformation, lying under oath (aka perjury), attacking his family through his tellall book Spare, Omid Scobie's books or the Sussex Squad, etc.).He sold his privacy and his family's privacy for money and fame. He thought he was in William's shadow inside the monarchy but now he is always in his narcissist wife's shadow. Meghan was using the race card, misogyny card and the UK press is stalking me (aka I am Diana's reincarnation and history will repeat if Harry doesn't save me) after 4 months in their relationship. She knew Harry's weaknesses were Diana, the press and his insecurity/jealousy about being the spare. What kind of feminist wears a dead mother-in-law's perfume to seduce a man with Oedipal complex? What kind of philanthropist stays SILENT about the African Parks atrocities? What kind of woman marries a man with a record of racism and then accuses her in laws of racism not her husband? What kind of woman accuses the monarchy of being the Empire 2.0 and refuses to give up the titles? What kind of woman shows no compassion/empathy for her father after he had 2 heart attacks and a stroke or her half sister with MS? What kind of philanthropist uses the veterans of the Invictus Games to satisfy her narcissist thirst for attention and exploit them to pay for her expensive fashion show instead of donating all the money to the veterans?

disturbed since childhood because of her own parents vicious divorce.

Diana was in love with Charles. There were three in the marriage. The royal family used Diana she was young and in love. It is sad that you are blaming this on her. It hurt Diana breaking her heart. She fought to get Charles love. I'm sorry for mental health in Harry came from the royal family. Go back to his uncle who abdicated and even further back.

Anne did not show impressive talent and enthusiasm for horse RACING - it was for horse JUMPING.
RACING is where the horses are mounted by jockeys, lined up inside a starting gate, gallop around an oval track, and compete to the finish.
SHOW JUMPING is where a horse and equestrian are timed as they canter through an obstacle course, navigate fences, avoid hazards such as water pools and hedges, and receive deductions for failing to have a clean run (missing jumps, downing fence poles, etc.). The fastest to navigate the prescribed course is not necessarily the winner, as the penalties may outweigh the advantages compared to other horses and riders.
Anne’s other equine-related passion is in horse breeding and horse sanctuaries - two things the narrator failed to mention.
Poor scripting conveys misinformation and is indicative of an inexperienced documentarian. 🧐
