I got the impression from his press conference he likes it at Nebraska and he had his most fun just calling plays. Anything can happen but I like what he is saying.
@@Lane17774I think a lot of our success from last year has to with the fact that we were in the worst offensive division in the country. We also need more depth
With the portal changing the landscape so much, you may see former head coaches taking coordinatior jobs. The head coach has to delegate more. Too much to do maybe.
He is a QBs dream, sign as OC for 4 years. The offense can be special with him calling plays from the field and Nebraska's recruiting under Rhule is pretty good already but him as OC can get those Wrs we need. I would try to keep around for a while
Close the deal and get him a contract to be OC and assistant head coach. Ask him what he needs and what he wants, then go get it. He is a farrrrr better OC than HC, and he said how much fun last Saturday was. Know what you're good at and stick to it.
You are assuming in some waybhe wants to be an HC again. He could have very easily just taken an HC job somewhere. He may not even want to be a head man again and finds joy in being an OC where he can work without having to deal with the BS.
@Lane17774 I am not saying he won't be considered. I absolutely believe he will be considered. I am just not convinced he wants that anymore. Like Chip Kelly. He can be here, do great things and not have to worry about the stress of being a head coach. No hot seat bs and way less stress. Even he said he was having fun again. If he is offered a job and takes it, good on him. Guess we'll just wait and see.
@@KappaMan19112004 Yeah. You might be right. He just seemed sort of "luke warm" about next year. Sorta acted like he wanted to be a HC again. But who knows?
@Lane17774 I just took it as he has a lot on his plate getting ready for Iowa. He's got to be exhausted, so I would imagine, his mind is solely on what's directly in front of him.
@@scottkelly7051 I watched again. I think you might be right. Or he might be leveraging to hire some of his own offensive staff/ replace some existing staff, if he is to continue as OC.
I disagree. White hasn't lit up the boards this season. 400 yards that Wisconsin had??? Indiana??? I'd be surprised if anybody looks at him. I wouldnt🤷
I think Dana sees something in Jacory Barney like everyone else did the first time he touched the ball. With Riola slinging it and barneys play making abilities, i think that alone encourages him to stay. He doesn't really need money.
I think he's realized he loves running the offense and doesn't like the headaches that come with head coaching positions. He said "Saturday was the most fun he's had in a long time." He referred to having family over and celebrating after the game. He referred to having a little down time during the week. Head coaches don't get that downtime. The way to snag him is to offer the OC position with 100% autonomy to design the OC position the way he wants it to be designed. Let him focus on spending his time on the fun things and delegate the grunge tasks as much as reasonable. Let him have fun making our offense amazing, and developing the players. Sell him "fun"!
Sadly we do not have any real rivals in the little 10 yet and thats decades from happening. Osborne is right. A rivalry takes time and it's about what the game really means. OU is a GREAT rival as that game usually meant whoever won that game won the conf. and was playing a lot of times for the NC. Nebraska has to get much better b4 we can start developing a REAL rivalry. And it will be against LOWHIO st., PENN. St. and Mich. (if Mich. makes it back up). We still NEED to have a conf. champ game period cause I AM TIRED of lowhio getting preferential treatment all of the time. They need to have to EARN it and not allow the JERKS little ten commish pull the team that WON the RIGHT to be in the conf. champ. game and throw lowhio st. in its place. Like the Ahole did under covid. Oh and OR might become a rival. But Iowa will be a joke as will most of the little ten. WISH we had the B8 back and worked to the max teams u could have and have a conf. champ game. And keep the TX schools out of the conf. And since we do not know if Wis. was on low energy after their OR game or not we have to wait and see for the Iowa game. Will we carry energy into this game or not and since Iowa has been up and down all season. What are their players going to be like. Or have they decided they are a rivalry game like CO fans think they were are our rivals and we not so much in either case. Iowa is never going to have a really GOOD NC level team cause they do not want to rock the boat.
He’s not nearly as good a HC as an OC. And, for him to be hired away as HC, it would need to be. 4 year, 20+ mil deal to make it worth it and I don’t know if some school will do that
Keep an eye on that Tulane Job as that coach will probably get hired away. I could see Holgerson being a candidate there. I actually think Holgerson would be good at Purdue. Purdue has always had better teams with a creative offensive mind running things (Tiller and Brohm). I don't see White going anywhere. The defense has regressed this year. They just gave up 407 yards to a horrible Wisconsin offense.

I think he and White are both back next year. At this point, I'd rather keep Holgerson. Not sold the 3-3-5 will work in The Big 10.

I could see Holgerson being considered for the Tulane HC Job. I think their coach will be hired away by a P4 Team at season's end.

I think he will stick around if given the good circumstances. Which is lots of leeway without the grief of being the HC
Chip Kelly is an OC. Some guys just wanna call plays now and not deal with the other bs.

Yup i think he lost a lot of interest after this year
In the red zone HH. Why not do a Tim Tebow fake run jump pass into the end zone.
I’ll bet if we continue to play like we did on Saturday… Coach H isn’t going anywhere.
I think Dana sees something in Jacory Barney like everyone else did the first time he touched the ball. With Riola slinging it and barneys play making abilities, i think that alone encourages him to stay. He doesn't really need money.
If he stays i believe Sat and Thomas are gone and he takes over as OC/QB coach
SIGN HOGLEG HOLGORSEN Long Term and then make him HEAD COACH WITH A DYNASTY TO RIVAL TOM OSBORN
👍 I think you're on to something.

I dont get why players dont want to redshirt. Are the parents involved anymore? Rediculous
Got to make a decision for recruiting reasons.
You definitely need a QB coach
Conner just pissed me with his opinion on instant reply he didn't say every play

Please no to Tony White as a HC convo ever here at Nebraska.
Why do you guys so ready for every coach to move on just because they have a little success, let's win a big ten championship first at least, geeez
I don't think Coach White wants to be a head coach yet
Nebraska lost a potential national championship because Penn State caught a ball one yard out of bounds and was view as a catch 1981.

NFL QBs don't have QB coaches, its effectively the head coach
the smart ones have their own QB consultant coach that they work with year round.
