I feel confident to say that Hackintosh is probably the best way to go right now for the Macbook format considering the flawed Apple hardware floating around right now.

You deserve more view, like and subscription. I think you should focus on putting hackintosh in modern notebook in other brand that make sense for macbook pro replacement. Maybe Mi Gaming Laptop? Dell XPS line? Asus Zenbook Pro? etc.

Do you think you will try to do Linux video on this hardware? I am getting more and more attracted to Linux because Windows 10 is collecting to much data. And finding a cheap, but powerfull laptop to run Linux, is not that easy. So this Xiaomi one is really interesting!
I think with Windows 10 more an more people give a try to Linux (Mint, Manjaro, Ubuntu...), but the experience is not always the greatest because the hardware is not always recognized properly. Does this lappy is Linux Friendly?

Neurobio Boy Seems to be a proper Linux machine. Quite pretty, powerful and supported. You'll loose some Mac and windows benefits (fingerprint, trackpads etc) but that is the case with most Linux setups. Have fun.

Situation on the market is quite funny, U are faster than HQ.
wefhy Intel just came out with new H series 45W processors on April 2, many Windows laptops were already updated to support it; hopefully Apple will update their products at WWDC.

Mr Everything Hey. I've been looking into this model quite a fair bit. From what I gather, xiaomi seems to be a fairly reliable brand all around, several steps up from other Chinese brands. Theses laptops seem to have a few issues here and there but usually easily fixable by opening it and plug some loose cable.
joao is right however the one issue I faced with mine is the shipping times and dealing with the supplier themselves. It may be different for you but after ordering mine it took me 9 weeks to recieve it (shipped from HK to UK). This was from GearBest.com , the support reps offered no advice other than to wait until the order was processed :/

Oi Ricardo, eu acho que esta máquina é 5 ⭐️, no entanto optimizada para windows 10. Como hackintosh tem alguns contras mas muito aceitáveis e Linux ainda não tive oportunidade de testar a maquina como deve ser mas penso que não perderás performance nenhuma.

Hey Roberto, what about the battery life? When I received my Mi Notebook Pro, I re-installed Windows 10 straight away without really trying it, just confirmed it worked, then added a m.2 ssd and installed MacOS. I'm using it on the battery for the first time and I lost 15% in like 20 minutes of really light usage... Seems like MacOS eats up the battery very very quickly. Any thoughts on that?

Xiaomi just released a gaming laptop with Nvidia GTX 1060.. would love to see your inputs about hacking it to run Mac OS...
I don't think it would make a big difference, as the gaming laptop uses a 7th Gen i5 or i7, which theoretically has a similar performance as the 8th Gen U processor. And the GTX 1060 won't work in Mac OS.

Yes for photoshop no issues at all. The cpu/gpu is more than capable 👍

I bought i7 with 16gb 6000 rmb in taobao which is famous internet shopping mall in china and it is almost 200 dollars cheaper than buy from offline store and it works really well
Julius Lühr I think I would recommend the i7 16g as the ram can't be upgraded later on, but I got the i5 on 11/11 with very good discount and I clocked it for it to perform as with i7

Instead of hacking an OS, for realiable produdutive I suggest you to install a Linux based OS. There s Deepin OS winch is as good as Mac OS. Should check this out.
But no FCPX so although I understand doesn’t work for everyone 😉
