The rawness and the specific tone of the melody in this video has preserved to this day. The video brings you back to the days when death metal grows like mushrooms on the rain. Nothing can bring this back anymore. They don't do stuff like this anymore and they don't record nor produce like that anymore. It was a one special time. I miss those days. Metal in general nowdays is mainstream and polished to the core. No hard feelings but old school will remain old school. The best school.

As for me,truly Amorphis was from 1994(their best album ever of all times) till 1997,after that it was completely nu metal,no truly doom metal at all,they accept a new mention of metal and play it till nowadays,it's my own opinion about Amorphis new music kind...Their album"Tales from the thousand lakes" was a best time of Amorphis like a doom metal band!!!Love it so much!!!Greetings from Russia to all Amorphis old fans!!!This album is gorgeous and one of the best themes of an all doom metal ever been in it's history!!!'

Tadej Šticl a lot of newer good death/doom bands that sound just as good as this. Age of the record those not matter only for the status as a classic.

This song to me always sounded like snowcovered mountain peaks and valleys with pine forests converted directly into audio format somehow. Great art in my opinion.

@@faizulcy To me it sounds exactly as I described it 7 years ago. I don't get why you connect summer ending with something as dramatic as this song, to me late summer is a slow, lazy time full of melancholy. My choice of song for that would be The Doors - Summer's Almost Gone.

In my childehood years i had a cassette with Amorphis on one side and Gorefest on the other. I don't remember who was the issuer but black winter day was the first Amorphis song i ever heard. Its over 25 years later now and i still love it

Мне было 16 лет когда я впервые услышал, а потом увидел этот клип. Это было подобно взрыву бомбы. Аморфис самая крутая финская дум группа. Первые 2 альбома это конечно нечто. Россия любит Аморфис

I think you can't (objectively) justify this being better than their new stuff... I really like Black Winter Day as a song, but this guys "growls" are really pathetic, to be honest. Tomi leaped Amorphis on another level with his unearthly brutal growls and beautiful clean vocals.

Joutsen is good at growls, clean vocals AND live. I like Koivusaari's voice but Joutsen is a little bit better i think. And Koskinen was live really weak. But thats just my opinion. :D
