Even saying something like "no" or "stop" is giving the dog attention. Also, I would reccommend not using pee pads and just take the puppy outside every 30 minutes or so. You don't want the dog thinking it's ok to pee inside the house. Even if you have pee pads.
This helped a lot. When my parents got a puppy, she cried during the night because of separation anxiety and wanting to be in bed with me. What I did, like what mama dogs do, was be firm and tell her to shush. If she persisted, I made a noise to get her to back off and be quiet. After a few nights, things were silent during sleep :)

remember, if you puppy cries when you first put him in the cage, then stops and starts again in 2 or 3 hours, that means he needs to go to the bathroom! wait until they have a lull in their crying and then take them out IMMEDIATELY to the place you want them doing their business.

We'd recommend making their alone as a good thing. Give him a treat, chew toy, and leave something that smells like you. Playing soothing sounds or a calm t.v. show may also help. Practice giving them "their good space" during the day, and they should be relaxed for bedtime in no time.

It's been a long time since I had a puppy. This one howls, barks, screams and does the Doberman yodel. All dam night. I have ignored it, got no sleep. He's like an energizer puppy. This is what worked for me and baby Zia: I put her in a crate right next to my bed at night. When she started crying, I started talking to her in a soft, soothing voice. I told her everything was going to be OK. She stopped crying to listen to me, and never started again. Not all puppies are as easy as Zia was, but think about it. They've just left their mom and siblings and they're ALL ALONE with you, a stranger. Of course they're traumatized. Don't punish them; comfort them. And if they whine in the middle of the night, take them outside to pee. They don't like to soil their crates.

You should NEVER just leave a puppy to cry at night! That’s horrible! I cant imagine crying for someone all night and then never coming it would scare me so much especially in a new home where I don’t really know anyone! LITERALLY ANY OTHER METHOD WORKS!!! I’ve had so many dogs I’ve lost count and heat pads, blankets with my perfume on and soothing music all worked. I’ve never had a dog that cried at night. Anyone that just leaves their doggo to cry itself to sleep has SERIOUS ISSUES!
An old school heating pad you can put in the microwave does wonders. My little pit is “8weeks” according to the breeder, but I think she still needs the comfort and heat of the other puppies so it really helps.

There can be some sort of separation anxiety and providing the dog with things they normally use and are comfortable with, having the scent of your sister, might help. Getting further advise from a vet would be recommended.

Hello there Kristina. Make sure they've peed and pooped. An “empty” puppy will sleep much longer than one who needs to go. Crate your puppy next to your bed so that they aren’t alone, and you'll hear if they wake up in the night. If your puppy is teething, offer some soft toys or treats to chew on. Ice cubes or frozen treats are another popular option to help soothe sore gums

We'd recommend making their alone as a good thing. Give him a treat, chew toy, and leave something that smells like you. Playing soothing sounds or a calm t.v. show may also help. Practice giving them "their good space" during the day, and they should be relaxed for bedtime in no time.

We got 2 new puppies (1 month old) and 1 is only crying but the other 1 is not. It always howls and cry at night, it didnt even slept. You can try giving your new pup some alone time during the day. You can leave them with a blanket or shirt that has your scent on it.

This is what worked for me and baby Zia: I put her in a crate right next to my bed at night. When she started crying, I started talking to her in a soft, soothing voice. I told her everything was going to be OK. She stopped crying to listen to me, and never started again. Not all puppies are as easy as Zia was, but think about it. They've just left their mom and siblings and they're ALL ALONE with you, a stranger. Of course they're traumatized. Don't punish them; comfort them. And if they whine in the middle of the night, take them outside to pee. They don't like to soil their crates.

You should NEVER just leave a puppy to cry at night! That’s horrible! I cant imagine crying for someone all night and then never coming it would scare me so much especially in a new home where I don’t really know anyone! LITERALLY ANY OTHER METHOD WORKS!!! I’ve had so many dogs I’ve lost count and heat pads, blankets with my perfume on and soothing music all worked. I’ve never had a dog that cried at night. Anyone that just leaves their doggo to cry itself to sleep has SERIOUS ISSUES!

An old school heating pad you can put in the microwave does wonders. My little pit is “8weeks” according to the breeder, but I think she still needs the comfort and heat of the other puppies so it really helps.
