As Bruce, himself wrote in the liner notes for the for the CD recording of this show, they had a set list that he "still challenges any young band to match". One could also challenge any any young band or artist to match his presence and charisma while onstage.
well if he doesn't produce it when he is young I do not expect him to do it later

Think Bruce described this night as “a stew of New Jersey punk-soul”. Couldn’t have put it better myself.

As a teenager in the late 1970s, I didn't doodle in my notebooks in class. Instead, I wrote the lyrics for all of Springsteen's songs over and over. I saw him in Pittsburgh on December 27 1978. Greatest show ever.
At least I now know it wasn't just me, I remember my maths CSE exam in 1986, I finished and had over an hour to sit and wait because you couldn't just leave back then, wrote the lyrics for the whole born to run album on my " spare paper " ( in case any one is wondering , yes I did pass, and no, i probably couldn't do it now 😂)
As a teenager in the early 2020s, I do the same. Really hope I get to see him someday.

At the Stanley theater.... I was at that show too. Saw him there in August and was so pumped to see him schedule a pair of shows 4 months later in December, that I just HAD to go see him again. What a fantastic venue for concerts that was!
@@aldoabruzzi6417 The Cars, Pretenders, George Benson, Kool Jazz Festival, Hamilton (much later). Civic Arena not a bad place either (Boston, Aerosmith, Van Halen/Black Sabbath, Tom Petty, Jackson Brown, Springsteen, Rush, Joan Jett opened for numerous shows).
This show should be seen in movie theater THAT HAVE THE BEST SOUND AVAILABLE

Something about this version of Tenth, how early on it was.. it's got this excellent groove to it, that just doesn't exist in later performances of it. The pace, the phrasing of the lyrics, Miami Steve guitar fills... just fantastic

How anyone, ANYONE, could possibly ask for more from a band playing their utter living hearts and souls out for them I cannot and will never grasp. Still the single most phenomenal, transportive, and outright orgastic expression of all matters rock n' roll passion I've ever experienced from one musical act in all my 56 years.
They should release the entire Hammersmith concert as many fans would see it repeatedly. "Bad Scooter searching for his groove"

My first rock concert May 3, 1976, Robinson Auditorium, Little Rock. Back then, not many folks in Arkansas knew who he was & only 600 people showed up (tickets were only$6!), but Bruce played for four hours. Bruce was there for us and rock n roll. The greatest, most euphoric party ever.

This is one honkin' band, the backbeat is fierce and the beat is a mile wide. Any solo musician's dream-come-true rhythm section. Springsteen killin' it too. Hard to believe this performance was 45 yeas ago.

I never get tired of watching it ~ Bruce and the E Street band stole my rock ‘n roll soul at 14 years old. My Dad bought me my first set of headphones; he was Bruced out...Those were some clunkyassed headphones in 1975 😂😂😂
Everyone loves bruce, biggest performer on earth, danny,clarence,steve and gary were there from the beginning. I would say hammersmith is their best performance to date because they were hungry for success .
