Dear Opera Team,
Do you find it pleasant to have little space between the scrollbar and the edge of the screen? Because I don't. Also, the new version feels and actually IS just laggy. One of the reasons I have used Opera for a really long time was that it was clean and extremely fast but now I cannot say that anymore.
Give us an option and make the old version available too, for users that enjoy clean and fast web browsing! Thank you.

@@ItsIdaho Yes, indeed. And also, imagine having a sometimes faulty mouse scroll, so when you scroll down it sometimes scrolls up and other way around. Then you just have to click the scrollbar to scroll down manually. I know - buying a new mouse solves it (been there, done that), but let's not be imbeciles and implement something so useless like small space between scrollbar and the edge of the screen (and I'm sure that small space was not just a mistake or a bug - it was meant to be intentional!!)
it's to grab and resize the browser in Restored Window mode... literally all windows programs have the ability. it's fine
it is also a place to rest the mouse that does not affect anything (good for ADHD people to click 'nowhere' lol)
it also stops from accidentally moving the scrollbar (which would be far more annoying)

I have used Opera as my default and preferred browser for many years. It was initially the data saving of Opera Mini which drew me towards it, but now I stay onboard primarily for the integrated ad blocker and free VPN. I like the overall experience of Opera. I like the new look of Opera One, but there are a couple of issues which may force me away from it if not resolved. My first issue was with the ad blocker failing. No amount of resetting would fix it. However, this problem seems to have now been resolved with an update. But my second issue is with the scroll bar. I just want to zoom my cursor over to the right hand side and scroll. But that tiny gap between the edge, when the browser is full screen, means I have to be precise on where I land the cursor. It may seem like a minor issue, but it's actually a major one when I have to keep doing this constantly. It wastes time and effort, and is just annoying. Also, I've been having occasional video glitching. Iron out the teething problems, you will easily maintain my loyalty.
Hi. Thank you for the feedback and were sorry to hear you are encountering problems. As for the ad-blocker, there is no functional difference between Opera One and previous versions. As the web is a dynamic place, where websites keeps changing, all ad blockers are affected. Typically, they adjust after some time, and start working again. We work as fast as possible to adjust when such things happens. As for design, we are listening to feedback and making improvements that are coming. I would suggest removing the space to the right of the scroll bar, as it causes scrolling problems.

I don't like the new design. The rounded edges just look ugly to me. There is more unused white space around the adress bar now, so you see less from the website. But the worst thing for me is, there is a little space between the scrollbar and the edge of the screen now (actually around the whole website), what makes it unwieldy to hit the scrollbar. I have used Opera since 2015 or so, but now I went to Vivaldi.
This is exactly the comment I was looking for. The rounded edges, im so sad that there's not an option to make them like a square. They just really fk up... I've been using opera for more than 12 years, I cannot believe that I have to change it. Really sad.
Downgrade the version of opera and install it and turn off updates

Please add a function where you can shuffle backgrounds. There are many cool ones in the wallpaper store. It could shuffle off of a time (every x amount of hourse od days or weeks) or every time you re-open your browser, or every new opened page.

What is surprising is that Opera are not making it widely know that there are performance gains to be had by upgrading from Opera 99 to 100.
I bench marked Opera 99 prior to upgrade with 3 industry standard benchmarkers and found the following:
Jetstream 2.1 there was a 6.6% increase in performance.
Speedometer 2.1 there was a 2.88% increase.
MotionMark 1.0, that measures graphics there was a nice 10.88% increase.
What has blown me away though is the RAM USAGE figures.
Having 8 Opera extensions activated, uBlock Origin etc, and with 3 active browser tabs the ram has decreased from a bloated 1206mb down to now 802mb. Just over 1/3 better ram utilisation.
That is a great achievement that Opera would be better off publicising PROMINENTLY on their website.
No longer such a massive ram usage, that for many people was always something they didn't like.
And as Opera says, "Opera One’s modular design makes room for new features and integrated AI tools as they become available".
YES Opera, as long as there are on/off toggles for these extra AI tools as per the 3 already in settings.
AI prompts, AI chatbots and I recall another one already toggle off.
Now all swiftly switched off. It is not for me.
Opera management must realise that not everyone is comfortable with AI. Not best suited to everyone, everyone must understand that and not force it upon folks, not even by peer pressure.
There being great dangers that many can see and are avoiding as best they can. For some people direct interaction with AI, ChatGPT, Bing, Bart etc will bring them long term harm, harm to their mind & wellbeing. We are soon going to come across tragic cases of this. More caution needs to be taken by Authority and all the players involved in AI.
So Opera do keep the toggle off function for direct one to one interaction with AI on Opera. It is important that you do, it is the right thing to do. Keep on doing this as you are now.
The use of AI for improved video upscaling picture quality such as Nvidia Shield products is fine, some aspects of the AI phenomenon is ok when applied in such a way, yet >>direct

What the fuck was that? I open up my browser and this windows pops up with loud volume indicating about the new update... The least you can do is make it less invasive and be with no volume.
I have used opera a very long time, because it was a solid browser without useless crap. Now you pump out update after update adding more and more useless features. You update the design to a "modern" style minimizing it more and more.
I'm not using a browser for how it looks but for how it performs and how I perform using it. Really don't like the update.
If anyone knows a browser like opera used to be 2-3 years ago, please recommend it to me.
I can recommend Brave, but Opera 99 is still superior
Vivaldi. Made by OG Opera devs. Only issue is that the animations aren't smooth, but it has soo many features

Respect for the Tabs Islands feature🥸I like the good and seamless transition between work and personal use. Hard to get on with this feature but when you finally get it, it goes smoothly🤠However, the UI changes, like modular design, were truly needed. Good work!

@Opera, I am using your browser from a long time never noticed any major bugs. Every feautre of Opera was on point. Previously just 3 days ago I updated my browser to Opera One and from the day I updated it I started getting Ads on RUclips, Spotify, and inbuilt Player. I don't know why this is happening even when I have turned on the Ad Blocker and turned off the option for "Allow Acceptable Ads". This really to be honest has affected my experience with Opera in an very negative way. I have reported this issue on Opera Customer Care. I'm Not sure if this issue is currently faced by me or many, but Opera Please try to fix it I don't want to change my Browser. Hope you fix this Bug ASAP.
You can get u block origin in the extensions, it's free, easy and blocks every ad

Please give an option to deactivate or disable "improvements". This new design is wonky and crashes a lot. Opera One just messed up a lot of research that I was working on. The feature that I hate the most is Tab Islands.
I agree about the design. as for the tab islands - there's an option to disable them (Settings > type "islands" in the search bar > "Automatically create tab islands" shows up > toggle it off)

I downgraded to Opera 99 (last version before Opera One) and after years using Opera Im starting to transition to Firefox.
Opera One has to be one of the worst updates in web browsers history. Lots of changes and I can't point out anything that wasnt awful. Slower, crashes a lot, too much animations(browser is for productivity if I want animation I play games), bad modifications in the workspace, also I dont like the way they force updates, I already blocked it with a firewall but still too much hasle to keep using Opera, sometimes crashed and made me lose all my work tabs/workspaces and cost me a couple hours of extra work.

As for updates, its crucial for your safety and security you upgrade to the latest versions of any browser you use. Blocking updates can cause you to be exposed to public known security issues, and should really be avoided

It's pretty great but there is 2 major problems in my experience First on the android app i can't log in or creat an account Second aria (the ai) isn't anywere in the pc version or the android so as you see not having an account ruins the experience and i feel lied to when i was promised an ai also i am in the middle east (egypt to be exact) so if that helps please fix it

I love Opera and I have used it since 2020! But the problem with this browser is that it might no only replace the original, mid, regular Opera Browser. But the logo changed to the stale, boring white color. Please at least try to somewhat contain old Opera, other than that I find this browser from my experience pretty good! Keep up the good work!
Hey! The browser icon is still the same red one we have had since 2015. Only the developer version changed icon with the Opera One release - are you using that version?

i dont think the workspace is working as intended. each workspace must have its own bookmarks or speeddials, else what is the point of having it?
Now it got an update and I cant press the X at the top right anymore because there is a border?! Also think about the Dark-Mode users. The border around the window are white and way too visible. (Dont make a Dark Mode yourself, just remove the borders)
Opera Sync still not working properly. Yall should have fixed that before this release.
Sorry to hear! What is the issue you are having?
Sync lasts less than a minute. Any attempts to use flow and it kicks you out of your account. Most cannot even log into it as it sends you to the opera sign in page instead of the 6 digit code page. The forum has a dozen complaints on this on the first page alone. Going on a month+ now.

I am using opera for a few months now, but i am getting closer and closer to switching back to chrome for the simple reason that i can not copy/paste text from browser to libre office document because of this stupide "paste protection"! Your own (so called) AI suggested to switch to other browser if i want to do this kind of simple basic things! Would that be so hard to provide a switch to turn it on and off? Or if it is existing somewhere hidden than provide some information about it?
Hi. We are not aware of this copy-paste issue. Sounds almost like the clipboard protection feature is trying to prevent you loosing data (which is a security feature). Can you elaborate on what your issue is so we can help?
@@Opera Last night i was putting together some material, and i was trying to copy/past Bible verses to a document and 95% of the times it did not pasted anything when pressing ctrl+v, and the past option was grayed out when clicking with the right button. Your "AI" suggested it is due to the paste protection feature of opera, and searching for that term i found many people complaining about this thing, and there was some instruction how to turn it off, but those seams to be outdated, might have worked with older versions. Even previously i noticed it, that copy/paste not always working when copying from opera, sometimes i had to try it for 2-3 times just to copy from one opera tab to another opera tab.

@@OperaAnd it is just getting batter, i cant use my bank's webpage now in opera while it works without any issue in chrome. When i log in with opera, it gives a error message that i am directed to the home page of the bank due to some communication problem. Is it some other security feature from opera what screwing us?

They chose a terrible hotkey for invoking the aria command line. Here's how to disable it:
To disable the built-in Ctrl+/ or Cmd+/ hotkey to quickly launch Aria AI service using following steps:
1. Launch Opera One web browser and type opera://flags in address bar and press Enter. It’ll open the hidden secret advanced configuration page called “Experiments“.
2. Now click inside “Search flags” text box and type aria. It’ll show following option in the result:

Enable a quick Aria query UI. - Mac, Windows, Linux

3. To completely disable Aria AI command-line feature, select “Disabled” from the drop-down box.
