Even though these comments are funny I'll pin an explanation for you guys right here. I'm not using my right click because I have a card that gives about 24% damage reduction with 4 charges stored. I was pairing that with the legendary that gives you 35% while under 50% health. So that's why I'm not firing my right click :P
no idea if you'll see this comment, but if you do, there's an interesting similarity between ash and another character from a game called Sanctum 2, Skye Autumn. Skye Autumn is pretty much a total badass, most effective "core guardian" as they are known by but while all the other core guardians know how effective she is they also know that she also doesn't care about her reputation or the officals or anything. Skye Autumn only cares abut the fighting even though she dislikes the people she works for. The organization is corrupt, and skye clearly doesn't really care about their codes of conduct, like referring to people causally instead of formally. From the similar character design, situations and attitude between her and Ash i'm willing to bet that ash is only their to fight, nothing else matters. And this might be why she fought terminus. still only speculation though. these characters may be completely unrelated.
I knew I'd get this comment xD There's a card that gives me like 24% damage reduction with 4 charges stored. So I was pairing that with the legendary that gives me 35% damage reduction while under 50% health.
I understand what you're saying about the core that's in Terminus' chest, however if you look more carefully at it, it looks like Seris' soul core, the little ball in her lantern, so maybe they used the core of a previous Oracle to give Terminus the ability to bring his soul and body back with it's power, and the power of the crystals embedded in it
Raze _ Ash could have killed him but seris or another oracle could have brought him back from the dead like seris was shown to be able to do in her reveal
@@wibblewobble1566 whoa i dont remember posting that comment haha So yeah, as far as i know, terminus is inara's husband? Seeing how close theyre and also from the same stone-ish skinned race
I don't think Ash would hurt innconcent people. I have a theory too: The Magistrate simple played her. Terminus' state was already in danger, so the Magistrate started doing experiments on him. When he was finally brought back to life, he wasn't yet having the curse and the control of the Magistrate on him. Then the leader of the army Ash is serving in ordered her to destroy Terminus, being a potential threat, all secretly orchestrated by the Magistrate. He planned this as an experiment to test Terminus' new abilities. I don't think the Magistrate directly controls the army... I imagine him to be more of 'The guy who pulled the strings in the backround' type of character. Then Ash had to kill him, even if she didn't want to. Then shortly, Terminus returned from death. Not like as he used to be tho: Dark, Corrupted, Controlled, Trapped, Hopeless. Ever since he is being tortured by the Magistrate, being revived just to hurt others and suffer even more.
BlacK BLOOD Seris's orb has no spikes. It has carvings on it and it's hollow with energy filling it. It wouldn't make too much sense to make a character's weapon a part of characters another character's design.
I was not expecting to tear up when I clicked on this vid. This is the first lore video I've seen for Paladins. It's pretty freakin neat. Got me to sub.
You should check out Inara's loadout card, Lodestone. It almost seems like maybe it's the source of Terminus' crystals. it's a slightly different shade, but not an entirely different hue. There are a lot of crystals whose fragments are a brighter shade than the whole; there's also energy coursing through Terminus' crystals.
If you find any other lore please do make more of these videos! They're quite entertaining! I think Inara and Terminus are sister and brother, but the magistrate erased the memory or his family.
if anyone wants to know about why andro and seris knows each other, i think i had it figured out since seris was released. its simple, andro killed a god, which everyone thought was sylvanus, but theyre all wrong. with the release of seris and some of andros cards, andro killed the god of the abyss, which is nox. now this is where seris comes in. if u listen to some of the lines between andro and seris, you can hear some conflict between the 2 of them. for instance, the line when seris dies "is it everything u desired" by andro. this points to andro taking something from seris, or should i say the person who is controlling the oracle seris aka nox.another line what supports this is the line when seris kills andro, which is "its been a while, the abyss comes to collect" which also points to andro taking something which isnt his, being the powers of a god he killed, once again, i mean nox. if u want the evidence, then you can check andros cards and the voicelines between andro and seris on the paladins wiki
One interesting thing is the Reversal legendary, Godslayer. Most likely, he tricked the god he killed (for the sake of the argument, Nox) into firing massive damage into his reversal which allowed him to fire massive damage back. Kinda like standing infront of a Hexa-Fire Ruckus.
BUT DUDE. YOU FORGET THAT THE ROMANS STOLE THE GREEK GODS!!!!!!! i only used nox coz i felt like it, i shouldve put nox/nyx instead of just nox. plus, i said nox coz it relates to smite better either way though, nox and nyx are the same, and nyx is the goddess of the abyss, like i said, nox is just the name i prefer more
Isn't the same as Seris' orb? Maybe they are some sort of common power source for those associated with the abyss, which just might be the underworld ir afterlife.
I'm seeing a lot of comments saying "That's Seris's orb" but here is my guess. The Magistrate commanded Ash, giving her false information to "Kill" Terminus. But they told her to use a special kind of ammo. They told her it was the only way to kill him, but in reality the special ammo they provided her was used specifically to have him under their control.
WOW to this time i thought Hi-Rez made Paladins like a game without a storyline but after hearing this i IMMIEDATELY changed my mind pls do more of these i loved this video (i subscribed immiedately XD)
Idk if u already said this, but since the crystal that's in Terminus' chest is similar to Ash's projectiles, that could signify where Ash shot him to kill him
I've never noticed *the full* voiceline of an allied Terminus' ult, all I heard was the dramatic "No NOOOOO". I assumed it was he was screaming "no I will never die", in beastly fury, but um jesus fucking christ hearing him plead to let him die deadass made me cry omfl
that's pretty accurate from what I theorized, BUT, the crystals in terminus are purple, just like seris's power in her weapon, also seris talks about souls which has to do with her collecting souls of dead people, which leads me to believe that seris works for the magistrate, and she was commanded to put her power in that canonball that killed terminus so that that power revives terminus, but since seris works for the magistrate, the magistrate tells seris what they want terminus to do, and through the power of seris's purple things, she can command him and force him to obey
Yea you were right lmao terminus was kill by ash in the lore shirt. HOOOOOWWWW. After Finishing the video I realized that most of what you said is right and is probably right. This game is extremely mysterious and hi Rez is using code and character interactions is build up lore. I mean look at the lines between mal damaba and seris, and ying and zhin.
Seems plausible, but 1 thing; if u take a closeer look at the core it looks way more like the thing seris is using in her wep, the color is about the same and it also has engravings like seris thing has (not the same engravings tho), so ash maybe killed him but they replaced her projectile with sth else, perhaps it is the thing seris uses as she draws the energy for her soul orbs out of it. I think the magestry use some tech simular to this to imprison terminus' soul and bind it to his body while using the power of crystals to give his body enough power to still work. As his soul is imprisoned in the core and the crystals spread from the core makes it obvious that the source controlling it must be in the core, also the reason y he cant die, as long as his soul is in the core he will live even when his body gets destroyed. I think the magestry controls him by manipulating his soul via the crystals. This is basically just an extension of ur theory but sth I instantly noticed but forgot till I saw the vid. Right when he came to the pts I checked the core cause in all the stuff I had seen of him before the ts it really remembered me of the thing seris uses and when I checked it they looked extremely alike. Of course this us all just spicey speculation.
it remind me a lot Ballos from cave story: he know he is just a monster , and he want to die to stop this curse to be honest, i find this really touching: despite they are evil, they still prefer to lost their lives in favour of other's lives. P.S. why the heaven Talus is a good char? he is a devil!!!
I think u r right the ash is not an evil person, bc when he says I deserve this, maybe its bc he was already fighting his stone kind specially inara, and he is happy they took their revenge, and ash were helping them buy fighting him, and maybe even he turned to a good person in the end of his life but ash didnt know and killed him without knowing that he is good now
My lore is that inara accidentally killed her brother/lover aka someone close to her with her ultimate ability. While everyone thought he was dead seris used her powers to revive him and make him her minion.
Well... Let me put this in a different perspective. Terminus is a stone giant, same as Inara and from the same tribe, but they are normally more... violent or whatever. Terminus and Inara had a falling out (either love or friendship), and he sought to move on and forget about her by joining Ash's vanguard, while Inara left their tribe and began caring for nature and being 'the mother's' priestess. The Magistrate is a group that focuses on advancing the world, thus splitstone quarry was created, and attempted to takeout Inara so that she isn't a threat in their advancements. Inara attacked the quarry in attempt to free all the goblin slaves, but before she could escape herself, Ash and Terminus blocked her way. I think years would have passed since their falling out, so Terminus wouldn't recognize her instantly. They did battle, and Terminus was about to kill her, but then he realized who she was, and begun to attack Ash. As Ash and Terminus fought, Inara entered the elevator platform, and it begun to rise out of the quarry. Terminus felt a sort of peace knowing Inara would live, threw his ax down, Ash fired a shrapnel round into his chest, and he fell apart. The Magistrate abandoned the gold mine, but they had Terminus' remains brought to them. Using the shrapnel round that Ash killed Terminus with, some special crystals found in the gold mine, and some dark magic: they revived Terminus, but his mind was blanked of most of his past. Those memories come back with visuals, anger when he see's Ash, sorrow when he see's Inara, and Pride when he defeat's the Ancient, Makoa. That's my back-round for Terminus.
I want to cry now Edit: ok so thanks to the lore vid that hi-rez made we now know that terminus was originally a member of the resistance but lost his life to ash and died in inara's arms during the first battle, but was reserected by one of the sorcerers and was cursed to always take orders from karne but is fully aware of what he is doing while still having the memories of his past before his inslavement and ash, as you have said, is kind hearted and fighting for what she thinks is the right thing, and thinks of the resistance as the bad guys. But hell what do I know? I'm just a nerd who plays video games.
My guess is that there are two dominant species on one planet. Inara's species and Ash's. Like human vs nature. They are at war and ash's army captured Terminus to use it against the other race in the war. Since Terminus is a braindead war slave he is glad to finally die, but upset if he revives (via voicelines). And that explains how he is so suprised when Inara is on his team and so devestated when he kills her on the enemy team.
heres what i think. magistrate has this big castle thing. ''peasents'' get a stone helper (terminus) strat cousing a rukus and damaging magistrate property. magistrate mages give ash a special flak cannonball to fire at him to kill him. ash goes and shoots him down with the purple cannnball and leaves terminus in peaces. magistrate mages go and revive him using the cannonball as a catylist and force him to be a slave. hes forced to killalot of people and so on.ofc he blames ash for that since she shot the acursed ball at him.
basically you were correct on ash's projectile looking like the orb thingy in terminus because you can see on the 2:14 that time is on ruclips.net/video/TrztEF5HmAs/видео.html no cracks no orb thingy wow im surprised that your theory was correct even this came out before the lore cinematic
Just how cool would it be if Paladins would release a "parallel universe update" where Ash left magistrate and terminus would be what he was before he dies (maybe seeing him as a healer :o )
Idk which one worse the fact when I Terminus player uses his/her ult and I swoop in as Drogoz and one punch them back to death or the fact he hates his life.
And for a fact that skadrin worships makoa, or makoa people, I mean, in talus' card, they is one card art which is having a giant makoa statue which looks like it's been worshipped.
Even though these comments are funny I'll pin an explanation for you guys right here. I'm not using my right click because I have a card that gives about 24% damage reduction with 4 charges stored. I was pairing that with the legendary that gives you 35% while under 50% health. So that's why I'm not firing my right click :P
MORE LORE!!!!
+Jay Flare what if the core is a seris soul orb, it’s keeping him together like a seris ult, then his ult is like a seris ult.
or Ash killed Terminus, the magistrate then contacted Seris to put back terminus and she used the cannon ball where terminus died as a vessel/core
no idea if you'll see this comment, but if you do, there's an interesting similarity between ash and another character from a game called Sanctum 2, Skye Autumn.
Skye Autumn is pretty much a total badass, most effective "core guardian" as they are known by but while all the other core guardians know how effective she is they also know that she also doesn't care about her reputation or the officals or anything. still only speculation though. these characters may be completely unrelated.
why dont you buy items bro
the story background just makes the game soooo much better.

Yep
Marley Hobbs its growing on me. The lore.
is anyone getting annoyed hes not firing those projectiles
I knew I'd get this comment xD There's a card that gives me like 24% damage reduction with 4 charges stored. So I was pairing that with the legendary that gives me 35% damage reduction while under 50% health.
Jay Flare oo i was really getting annoyed xD
Me too i was like " fire the projectiles to kill them" hahaha
bob chan oh my fucking god same
I was like, ``JUST SHOOT THE PROJECTILES! THE HUD IS UNBALANCED! at first then i got really into the loar theory...
Ahh this is SOO GOOD can you make more lore theories
I'll consider it. There isn't really anything else in the game that has this much info from what I've seen though.
Yeah these vids are always so good !
Jay Flare if you watch the trailer for terminus, when he revives, you can clearly see that it isn't an ash cannon ball but rather a seris soul orb
I WANT MORE PLEASE xd
Wow i feel bad for Terminus
Toxic im getting mad, you are everywhere
K
Toxic No... Me too
I was actually about to comment that lol but I’m 8 months late

Yeah, I didn't notice how much it looks like her orb in the art I used as reference. A screenshot from the trailer showed me the lantern markings.
This doesn't change the fact that the voice lines are very clearly directed towards Ash tho...
Raze _ Ash could have killed him but seris or another oracle could have brought him back from the dead like seris was shown to be able to do in her reveal
Also you know how seris ult drags people into one spot. This could be the same as when terminus body is being dragged back to the orb.
Andddddd Jay Flare was right and not you.
this is my first time getting entertained by a lore theory
Ninja Boffin has some good Lore Theories too, If you want to check it out :)
Pitch-Black Void I'm a fan.
Just watched paladins lore cinematic, trought out ash really killed terminus!
It looked like inara and terminus really cared for each other

that's pretty accurate from what I theorized, BUT, the crystals in terminus are purple, just like seris's power in her weapon, also seris talks about souls which has to do with her collecting souls of dead people, which leads me to believe that seris works for the magistrate, and she was commanded to put her power in that canonball that killed terminus so that that power revives terminus, but since seris works for the magistrate, the magistrate tells seris what they want terminus to do, and through the power of seris's purple things, she can command him and force him to obey

And that explains how he is so suprised when Inara is on his team and so devestated when he kills her on the enemy team.
And the Magistrate is probably somewhat evil and run by high class corrupted entities/polititians.
Nice argument dude! You have one more like!!!
I guess it was confirmed in one of the lore cinematics.
After watching the video
*HITS DAT SUB BUTTON*
oh man he predicted FUTURE!
This is new. Watch terminus closely, and was originally had no cracks and his eyes was yellow, like enera
oh, forgot to ad this. srry! ruclips.net/video/TrztEF5HmAs/видео.html
Good job dude
Ashe is Lawful Neutral.
I feel like terminus was resurrected back to life from the help of seris, she does dabble in souls.
They should really make a story about this game
Terminus used to be inara's boi
Hopefully more information is coming with Khan...
Since I am a Terminus Main! The story is so upsetting...
I just hope that series revived him. I meant that thing inside his chest pretty similar to seris soul orb.
Yeah it is. I didn't notice the markings/carvings on the orb until somebody sent me an up close screenshot from the trailer.
heres what i think.
magistrate has this big castle thing.
Wow, Im watching this after the lore trailer and Ash actually killed Terminus!
this is a really good theory
Idk which one worse the fact when I Terminus player uses his/her ult and I swoop in as Drogoz and one punch them back to death or the fact he hates his life.
And for a fact that skadrin worships makoa, or makoa people, I mean, in talus' card, they is one card art which is having a giant makoa statue which looks like it's been worshipped.
