Think about trying Minwax Wood Hardener on that punky wood. It seems to work well for me. Good luck.

Have you ever used wood hardner on soft wood or cottonwood bark to make it hard enough to carve ?

Hello from Montana! Where do you get those arm attachments for an angle grinder? That would be great for hard to reach places!

Pressure washer is good for cleaning up old wood. But you have the right washer fan out tip so you don’t dig in too much and
or do not leave in one place for to long or you will dig into the wood. Another words keep the tip moving. Then let dry then you
can do what ever for a final finish.... good luck for what ever you do so let it dry really good, if you have time. If not go with sand blasting.

You are Mr Non-Stop Jordy, its difficult I know, to pace yourself, but if you dont you may burn out and no-one wants that Jordy, we respect that you try to help others especially friends and that is commendable, but Jordy man you are going to have to say, not just now to some as they will take advantage of your good nature its just people don`t understand how much it takes to produce what they feel they want and sometimes its better just to decline gracefully so as to not offend them, and get on with the things you love to do. Does this make sense to you Jordy? Sorry this comment is long but after seeing how much the throne chair is taking out of you I just had to say.
