U.S. House Oversight and Reform Committee holds a virtual hearing to examine the role of Purdue Pharma and members of the Sackler family in the nationwide opioid epidemic and whether the company flooded the market with the highly addictive painkiller OxyContin.
Witnesses include former Purdue Pharma board member David Sackler, former Purdue Pharma vice president Dr. Kathe Sackler and Purdue Pharma Chief Executive Craig Landau.

They should have to face the courts of EVERY country they spread this cancer to. This is all well and good for the Americans, but Canada also suffers from ALL of this as well because of them. Last I heard, the Province of British Columbia is suing them because of how much Oxy addictions are costing them in health care. Thats NOT enough! If you aren't willing to take their ill gotten gains from them and throw them into jail, another country should!!!

These people act like they are so willing and kindly here to answer to the American people, but this person here was only in place since 2017, and will only answer to 2017+ which is much AFTER THIS CRISIS STARTED
Think of the one who need pain medication you cant do nothing with drug addicts these kids just dont care got one lives in my building they took her kids and she gave the other away she been in jail and she will go back jail
I hope you learn to have some compassion for vulnerable people. I know you don’t really think that those who get addicted to opiates should die and I hope you find the place in yourself that allows you to see that.

@@bettyowens3066 I agree. That’s exactly the problem, Purdue pushed Doctors (figures of authority) to prescribe struggling people with OxyContin of ridiculous quantities and dosages. These drugs are extremely addictive and Purdue knew they would cause mass death- it was within their business model. We need to protect vulnerable people and help them with addiction and we need to punish companies that put profits over public health. Have a lovely evening.
