Premo doesn’t bat 1.000 like he did in the golden era, but he still can drop beats that would easily stand with his greatest work. Stuff like “Classic”, “Family and Loyalty”, “Say Goodnight” are all post-2010 Premier but easily in his top 25 best beats imo
The fact that Nas is still very hot after all his time in the game speaks volumes….he never really got too involved in acting & other things some rappers branch off into….his legacy is his music & nothing competes with it 🖤🥶stay safe
Goat, it should be no question after this magic 3. His las 7 albums including lost tapes 2 is incredible, never ever done in hiphop an will never be duplicated
Peace King I been thought You done this!!! Check out DJ Khaled ft NAS “Nas Album Done” …… also DJ Khaled ft NAS, Scarface, DJ Premier & The Justice League “F Hip Hop”
Hello, hoping you would also react to RM's upcoming album "Right Place Wrong Person" coming out on May 24. RM is a rapper and leader of BTS who is a huge fan of Nas.
Alright man. If you want to do like a beat "taste test" to see who is your number 1, you need to check out one of the first Versuz battles that happened at the beginning of the pandemic. It pits Premier against RZA. They have some technical difficulties at parts, but if you stick with it and watch the whole thing, you will not be disappointed. Plus, you'll be able to know your number 1 spot, and maybe discover some new songs you haven't heard yet.
Preme said they've started it multiple times but never finished. But also most of those songs have come out. I'd rather Preme go produce another Christina Aguilera record. We need that feeling back in music.
During the 90’s if you were a NYC rapper and wanted to be considered as a goat you had to bless a DJ Premier beat. All of the goats have spit over a Premo beat Nas, Jay, Big, Kiss, KRS, Rakim, Kane, Busta, Mos Def, Big L, the list is insane!! A Premier beat is like a rappers rights of passage.
My friend, you take me back in time so often and I cannot thank you enough for that. Right now I’m 14 again, bumping “I Am…” on cassette at school. 🔥🔥🔥
“Before the Christ/after the death/the last one left…”. That line means so much more now. Nas might be the last MC of his era to still be doing it masterfully for decades now. 🔥
Straight Up classic, it's not Nas most lyrical performance but this song is special. Could you do 'Rise & Fall' it's one of Nas classic unreleased songs.
If you dig through DJ Premier’s entire catalog you’ll definitely have a hard time not putting him atop the hip hop producer pyramid. He’s my personal fav of all time but should be top 3 in everyone’s list. 👍
NaS intro Bars are legendary! Ice Cube said to NaS on his 'The Bridge' podcast, "Back then we were doing our penmanship, then you came and put it in Cursive". Highest compliments from 1 of Hip-Hop Greats!
This is one of my all-time favorite Nas joints!! King you always deliver when it comes to these reactions! And what's great about it is a lot of younger cats don't want to give any credit to the "old heads"but you're always quick to pay homage! That's why I will always support the movement 👑 #respect
Craziest part about this song is that it took up to 20 years before anyone found the sample. And even when the sample was discovered, the DJs that would include it in their live mixes wouldn't disclose the source out of reverence for Preemo
The story of how Premier found it was one you don't hear often. Premier was sitting with Paul Rosenberg in a live interview and they played this song, and asked how it came about.
You have to do the entire album reaction for "I Am". Probably the most slept on hip hop album ever, as you can see. This is his best collection of work.
Lovin yr reactions Kingahmad. Keep up the great work. U got to watch D.I.T.C One Day. Big L and 5 other rappers. Then watch Big L and Herb Mcgruff - 560 freestyle. Everyone slept on Herb but he was more hard-core then Big L
This is, in my opinion, the greatest hip-hop track of all-time. It represents every aspect of hip-hop perfectly. It has a bouncy yet interesting beat, amazing flow, unique (you mentioned it, he raps about so many different things) and meaningful lyrics with plenty of classic showmanship and braggadocio in there, good multi-syllable rhymes and some super interesting rhyme schemes (classic Nas), good ad-libs, really good hook, great overall sound design. What else could you want?
DJ Premier has a legit argument for at least 4 of the top 10 Nas songs of all time. Memory Lane, I Gave you Power, Nas is like, NYSOM that's how ridiculous their work is together🔥🐐🐐
I think its cool seeing people way older then me finally listening to this song as ive been listening to nas for a year or 2 by now (because I am only 10) but still I know about nas and always reccomend him!
If you like Premier beats, you should check out the Gang Starr discography. That's the group he originated from with his man Guru, from Boston. Primo is from TX. They both met in Brooklyn when they were trying to get on in the rap game. Whenever New Yorkers try to shit on the South, I always tell them that their best DJ/producer is from the South.
I teach at a Juvy in Newark. We usually play music they wanna hear at the end of class. Today they’re like “Ibida” pick a song. Picked this. “Rap to the whole shit or we do no work” …rapped the whole shit lol.
Peace. This is one of the slept on Nas joints. Had this joint before it came out and knocked it before everybody else. This is my favorite Nas joint because of everything he addressed in this joint. Can't go wrong with Preemo on the beat. Glad you feeling this joint...
DJ Premier's work from 1994-2000 was insane.
1993- 2003 imo..Nas track 2nd Childhood in 2001 Stillmatic & 2003 Snoop track One & Only, Guru 2003 Album
Daily Operation came out in 92, gotta take it back to 92 haha, that shit was beautiful.
Premo still dropping fire like Headlines - Benny The Butcher , Conway and Westside Gunn ...
U gonna always recognize a premier beat
This song is timeless
📠
Every time I hear it, it takes me back to when it first came out. Bumping this with the windows down lol.
Only the greats can be "Timeless"
The way he melds Egyptology and astrology and religion with visuals from an everyday life in the inner city projects is unmatched.
FINALLY!!!!! It's about time you reacted to this.
"Im like being locked down with new faces, and none of them fam" 🔥 🔥
DJ Premiere bro
My favorite song from this particular album. Nas is the king.
Salute to you Ahmad for reviewing this classic. Please do an album review of the whole album I Am. Underrated album for sure.
The fact that Nas is still very hot after all his time in the game speaks volumes….he never really got too involved in acting & other things some rappers branch off into….his legacy is his music & nothing competes with it 🖤🥶stay safe
Wait, i didnt know this your 1st time hearing this. Mann. Ok 😎
Goat, it should be no question after this magic 3. His las 7 albums including lost tapes 2 is incredible, never ever done in hiphop an will never be duplicated
DJ Premier deserves a rematch VERZUS against RZA...He thought it was like a showcase of talent but RZA came to battle
This is hilarious 😂 in all these years I never looked at this song as: this is what "Nas is Like" 🤣 and it's perfect 🤣🤣🤣
I suggested this song to You, hoppe that why You did it, Shout out from South Africa
Love ❤️🇿🇦
I’m like being locked down around new faces and none of em fam 😮
You've gotta start doing the video versions fam. The video to this is dope

Peace King
I been thought You done this!!!
Check out DJ Khaled ft NAS “Nas Album Done” …… also DJ Khaled ft NAS, Scarface, DJ Premier & The Justice League “F Hip Hop”
You can usually tell a Premo beat because the scratches are too clean. Premo the GOAT.
Old Nas song but good one.
dope tee
thats a primo beat

Love your reactions, day 2 of asking for Nas - Deja vu🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
this was in gta 4
Incredible song, great reaction. Since youre debating RZA and Primo. Why dont you react to their Verzuz battle?
We NEED that Nas/Preemo collab album nowww
Nah, it would have been special during the 90s or '02/04 but preemo's beats aren't hitting like they used to
Large pro is a better option, Q Tip too
@@miiiiisvibes As much as I love Preemo I have to say agree. I loved the stuff he did with Royce though.
Nah we don't
Preme said they've started it multiple times but never finished. But also most of those songs have come out. I'd rather Preme go produce another Christina Aguilera record. We need that feeling back in music.
@@miiiiisvibes Yes, they are hitting but on the different way...music changes, listeners change...you cant make same music for 30 years...

Eminem STILL has not blessed a Premier track. I don't think the world is ready for that much greatness!
apart from guru r.i.p nas is probably the best mc on a preemo beat
@@paulwright2701 sorry, but you're wrong on that one. That honor goes to Royce 5'9!
thats what hip hop is all about
@@andrejackson5496***Book of Rhymes has entered the thread***
Nas the true goat 🐐.
My friend, you take me back in time so often and I cannot thank you enough for that. Right now I’m 14 again, bumping “I Am…” on cassette at school. 🔥🔥🔥
This is a perfect mainstream representation of real hip hop! One of the perfect tracks by Nas!
Agreed!
Never can go wrong with a Nas selection my guy. 🙌🏾
This is THE Nas song that fully encapsulates everything great about Nas in a nutshell imo
YEZZIR...
Facts
“Before the Christ/after the death/the last one left…”. That line means so much more now. Nas might be the last MC of his era to still be doing it masterfully for decades now. 🔥
That "beginning and End" bar was cold

FACTS. Deeper you go gets more insane. even the undergound stuff...Like Black Poet etc
FACTS. Prem and RZA are neck and neck for GOAT producer in my opinion.
Pretty much everyone’s best song is their preemo track
100%
He is the goat. His beats are timeless too. They bang as hard now as they did in the 90s when I first heard them.

Another classic 🔥
I’m with you. DJ Premier, RZA, and Havoc are my top three favorite producers. GOATs
I will never tire of hearing NAS! the GOAT! Keep it going King!

One of the best songs ever made, primo did that beat
You have to do the entire album reaction for "I Am". Probably the most slept on hip hop album ever, as you can see. This is his best collection of work.

Come on young King you should know that sound by now 2 answer your own question “who did the beat”!!!! 90 % of the time it’s DJ DJ DJ Premier 😅😅

Escobar! He is truly in a class of his own. They don't make them like Nas anymore. 💯
This is, by far, Nas' greatest song, in my opinion.
PPPPPP-Premier! This is a classic for sure 💯 Nas and Preemo! I can’t wait till they make a whole album together! 🔥🔥

one of the best ways to hear great hip hop is just to go through Premier's catalogue. The greatest hip hop producer of all time.
Please do “I Am…” album reaction
Check "REKS - 25th Hour" Premo going hard on that beat and Reks killing it. And also REKS - Say Goodnight. Same duo going hard.
This is arguably one of the best songs of all time one of the best produced songs of all time as well as written and flow
FAM......Preme and Royce...PRYHME!!!! Anything off that!
Please do Ice Cube Gangster Fairytales and his 1st solo album Amerikkas Most Wanted.
I had to get a green jacket similar to the one he had in the video during middle school
An absolute classic. Another Premo gem which I can highly recommend: "Afu-Ra - Defeat" awesome Premo beat combined with amazing lyrics from Afu.
I think its cool seeing people way older then me finally listening to this song as ive been listening to nas for a year or 2 by now (because I am only 10) but still I know about nas and always reccomend him!
Yo bro you been on a roll lately.. RZA & Premier did one of the first verzus during covid
Since everyone thinks Nastradamus was his worse project you should do a reaction challenging the opinions lol
Much success to ya even if you wish me the opposite. Sooner or later we'll all see who the prophet/profit is. Cold wordplay 😉
Primo/DJ Premier on the beat.. Nas ill-matic rhymes = Need I say more??
Premo>Dre
need to just react to the whole "I am" album. you won't be disappointed.
