I-Team: Drink touting benefit of chlorophyll has little in it says and independent lab

Our I-Team told you about a woman who claimed to be a Doctor who then treated a cancer patient near the end of his life.
That treatment lead to a theft by deception complaint filed against her with Clayton County police and a practicing medicine without a license complaint filed with the Medical Board.
Her name is Azalea Blalock and we met her at her home pitching a product she sells called gkChlorophyll. The I-Team ordered a bottle of it from her Web Page. We went undercover to pick it up. She was happy to sing its praises.
"I had cancer, ovarian cancer. When I was 21. I'm 52 now. That's how I got better, it was through the chlorophyll. (No way?) Yeah. yeah, Blalock told us.
gkCholorphyll is wheatgrass, kudzu, and cilantro, according to its label. She insists, it works wonders.
"It cleanses the blood. So kudzu repairs the liver. Wheatgrass takes the toxins out of the body. Cilantro takes the heavy metals," Blalock said.
All for 50 bucks a gallon. She calls herself Dr. Azalea on her web page and social media. But there is no record of her being any kind of doctor with the Georgia Medical Board.
“I thought she was a doctor, because that's the way she introduced herself,” Valerie Hamlin told us.
The I-Team has already told you how Valerie Hamlin feels Azalea Blalock conned her and her husband out of $22,230. Mike had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Valerie says Azalea told them she was a doctor and tried a variety of holistic treatments on Mike.
I talked to her at her home.
(Why do you tell people you are a doctor?) “Because I am," Blalock insisted
Azalea Blalock later texted us to say she never claimed to be "a MEDICAL DR. I am holistic healer based on Ecclisatical (sp) law."
Valerie says once she learned Azalea was not a licensed medical doctor in Georgia, she took her husband back home to Michigan. He died soon after.
Valerie filed a theft by deception police report stating Azalea Blalock told her she "could treat cancer patient" but "she found out that the suspect was not a real doctor."
Mike’ Hamlin's IV nurse, LaTrese Ellis, also filed a formal complaint with the Georgia Medical Board accusing Azalea Blalock of practicing medicine without a license.
Calling herself Dr. Azalea, she also heavily promotes her gkChlorphyll drink on social media and her web page. The drink’s label says it’s good for almost everything: blood cleanser, immune builder, tumors, hair growth, pain, cancer, libido, diabetes, heart, kidneys even acne.
“First of all there is very limited research that supports the benefits of it,” said Steph Grasso.
The wild claims were no surprise to Steph Grasso. The registered dietician and nutritionist has seen exaggerated claims about liquid chlorophyll all over social media. It bothered her so much, she made a Tik Tok video telling people if they want more chlorophyll in their diets - eat more green vegetables.
The video’s been viewed 5 million times.
“I would not recommend this product. I would you know, recommend to having a balanced diet, full of fruits and vegetables, drinking your water, getting some movement every day. That's actually more important than drinking this gallon of nonsense,” said Grasso.
So, what’s in it? The ingredients are on the label but we wanted to know for sure and decided to have it tested. Specifically, we wanted to know how much Chlorophyll is in gkChlorophyll?
Well, the answer was quite a surprise. As it turns out, not much at all. In fact, the lab wrote us back to say:" The data shows there is essentially no chlorophyll….in the product."
We told Azalea Blalock what the lab found, and she texted us to say: "there is nothing but the herb plant itself used in the product fresh the chlorophyll is the plant."
She also sent pictures of gkchlorophyll customers.
“We all have friends family or parents who have told you if it is too good to be true, it's probably too good to be true,” said Dr. Warner Huh.
Dr. Warner Huh is a renowned obstetrician and gynecologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical School. He told us it is in his experience, it is not unusual for late stage cancer patients to turn to alternative treatments, at the end, looking for a miracle.
"It just hurts my soul to see people be at a time when they should be vulnerable, that people sometimes take advantage of it. I think there are some individuals who are somewhat unscrupulous that take advantage of that. I think it hurts to see that, said Dr. Huh.

It does work for all of the ailments she claims and better than eating green vegetables that are coming from who knows ...That dietician is programmed by the modern day medical field..They would rather fry you with chemo and other side effect causing so called cancer and medicine fighters
You can also buy it from Whole Foods. You can also make it pretty easily yourself. It's best to buy it from the store because then it's made in a professional environment. Who knows where she's making this garbage.

Her body looks mighty unhealthy for someone claiming to have products that “aid” in so many health challenges. That should’ve been a red flag right there.
Dr. Sebi was a pathologist, herbalist, and naturalist - not a medical doctor but no one has died using his regimen. People die under the care if licensed medical providers all of the time. This lady's practices are very questionable.

I know of some Cancer drugs that some of the pills or about $10,000 a pill and it doesn't guarantee that it will cure anything but it did go through FDA and it was certified by PhD doctors, MD doctors, and MD doctors with phds.

From what it looks like that woman probably had a decent product but refused to improve on the product as well as her academic endeavors insted took too many shortcuts resulting in the quackery accusations.

My clients successful folllow through and their family helped them to follow through . I had a pancreatic cancer client that was given weeks and he lived 8 more years so I had good success with those that followed .

However it's illegal to make false treatment claims, practice medicine when you're not in fact a doctor, and I'm sure she's most likely not reporting all of her income for selling that snake oil. Her documents clarify that she isn't a doctor so even though she uses the title online, she clarifies in her service contracts that she isn't. The fact that the couple were okay going to a doctor who has no accreditations listed anywhere is very curious. I almost wonder if the wife having him go there was intentional.

I take chlorophyll,and I have to take a urine test once a month, when I went to get tested my exam came out negative for any of my meds I take daily, so i guess chlorophyll does cleanse your system pretty quickly,it did for me in 2 weeks

This Healer Woman has been my friend for many years better than 25 years. She is NOT a quack. She lives her life to help folk have better health and wellbeing. there is so much more to this story . She helped this mans friend who had been diagnose with breast cancer and she has helped so so many folk that had been given up on by doctors. It is so serious to challenge western medicine which had been caring for this man for years and did NOT catch his cancer in a timely fashion but collected his money for years. One thing we are good at here in America is vilifying whoever we won't while not doing so to others. I am very saddened by this all, it is so very sad. This man might have been unhealthy before and that is not mentioned ironically. All my years of knowing Azalea she has never told me that she is a medical doctor. She is a doctor to me in her own write but we just juggle terms dont we. The FDA would be the first to tell you that there's no cure for cancer nevertheless they still approve many different cancer treatments and therapies.
There are so many different oncology disciplines yet all of them agree that there is no cure for cancer.
So what exactly is it that they are providing?
You heard me stories of people for the doctors have given up on leaving the people to fend for themselves and through their faith and perhaps some magical elixir the experience a remission that boggles the mind of the doctors. The stories are so ubiquitous that they're not so unusual anymore.

Yeah it might kill you in the end but there’s a difference between 1 year and 20 years of life. That’s why modern medicine is amazing.
