✨ I am a live Entertainment Tech working in Australian Theatre, Cabaret, Music, Burlesque, Circus and Comedy.
⭐️ In the last two years I have worked on Hamilton Australia, Phantom of the Opera outdoors on Sydney Harbour, Come From Away Australia, Mary Poppins Australia and toured Phantom of the Opera Australia while freelancing all over the country. I did special effects in my high school's production of the Little Mermaid last year, and one of the main props that I was in charge of was King Triton's Trident! Which I would say was such a cool experience because I got to design and build it and did the electronics and controlled it during the show. We had a super late rehearsal before opening day that ended at around 9pm and right before King Triton's first entrance on the last run-through of the day, which would be the last one we would have before the real shows, Kign Triton picked his trident up and the 3D printed connector snapped..... I communicated this to stage management, and they said to just keep going and use the upper part of the trident so I could still rehearse my cues for the lights for the shooting effects. Our first performance was at 9am the next day, and luckily, when I sent my design to our school's makers space to be printed, I told them to print 2 extra ones together, and I spent my prep time that morning an hour before half hour putting the new connector in place, running the wires through and painting it back up. Luckily, I didn't have to do that ever again throughout the run. We are doing Aladdin this year, and I am doing special effects again, but I'm also playing Aladdin! So our magic carpet was my design along with Genie's magic effects. This show is packed with cool special effects, which I am in charge of, but can't actually control because I'll be on stage the whole time, so we'll see how that goes.

Your horror stories are the bomb diggity! 😵 My LX horrors include board freakouts causing full blkouts, computer reboots during LIVE interactive controlled shows, and automated lights losing their minds. And yes, some sound batterygate experiences too. Biggest Performance Horror - I have serious stage fright - During my first debut, I did the Phantom (Journey sequence) for a BWAY Showcase concert - also designed the entire show. Lost several key automated lights right before the top of the show. Have no idea what happened to this day. Then while singing the title song, my cape malfunctions and slides off, I then forgot my hat was still on, then flubbed a few lyrics in MOTN. Good thing I had brown pants on under the costume. That hot mess got my foot in the door to classical voice lessons and NYC workshops. I’ve since performed several times as the Phantom and other musical characters. LX, sound, and techie work is still my main jam. Happy Halloween from our side of the earth! 💀🎃
