    8:45 For a moment, when you mentioned the old field system then said "I'll do some digging" I pictured you going up there for a bit of experimental archaeology! (also congratulations on your good news!)

    Smashing that mate, one of my favourite spots. Well done finding Barbrook 3 thats not easy! It makes you wonder how many other stone circles were obliterated over the entire country by development over the last 1000 years or so as cities expanded.

      Does make you think what lies under our feet!!! I'm glad i had an accurate grid ref for the third one as that would have been a nightmare to find. Also lucky that there was no bracken to hide it either 🤣🤣 thanks for watching!

      @@thepeakdistrictviking Most welcome sir! When I went to Barbrook 3 it was foggy and we were all over the place trying to find it! :D

    Cheers viking, I wonder why and how they brought all those rocks and stuff to that point? It looks very open and I didn't notice any outcrops near by.congratulations on getting your viqueen. Take care my friend, all the best.

      Thanks, it does make you wonder, although there seemed to be boulder fields in the grass so I suspect that's where they came from

    They say Big Moor is the most isolated area in the Peak District,! A nice walk though especially as you got to see the deer, 500 in total up there, but when I was last up I didn't see a single one, so lucky you on spotting them, cheers

      @@thepeakdistrictviking I did the Christmas Wild Camp that never was video over Big Moor, there's an old village up there and some interesting standing stones/ancient waymarked up on the white edge side near the field system, I aim to do a wild camp in the area probably around Easter and explore more, as have a new camera to try out

    • @thepeakdistrictviking
      @thepeakdistrictviking  8 месяцев назад +1

      Nice, what camera did you get? I saw the way marker at lady's Cross

    • @ExpeditionHiker
      @ExpeditionHiker 8 месяцев назад

      @thepeakdistrictviking there's another waymarker down between the trig and Warren's Lodge, that's believed to be from the bronze age. Did you see the war trench near Lady Cross? Camera is a wildlife cam, want to see what's snooping around my tent lol

    • @thepeakdistrictviking
      @thepeakdistrictviking  8 месяцев назад

      @@ExpeditionHiker that will be interesting to see what you capture? I wasn't aware of the war trench there.
