Thank you for this video. We got these in New Zealand although they are very rare now. Useless fact: In Australia it was used as the Bathurst 1000 Pace Car in 1993.
As far as I know, the MX-6 was not part of the Amati/Eunos/Autozam/Efini experiment at Mazda, but the Xedos 6, which was on the same platform, certainly was!
I really liked these MX-6s back in the day. Based on the same platform as the mark 2 Ford Probe. Mazda also offered the option of a smaller MX-3 with a small V6 engine. They had an excellent range of cars in the 1990s.
That's right, you could get a 2.0 V6 in an MX-6 as well in certainly markets, the MX-3 came with the 1.8 V6, but also with a lot of other engine options too.
The Saab 9000 Carlsson belongs to the same owner, and will be up on Sensible Secondhand Classics at some point soon. Thank you ever so much indeed for watching and commenting!
My old Astina had a weird badge too. It probably comes from a time when Mazda tried to launch their own luxery brand a la Lexus but the plan was aborted because of a mini-recession in the mid-1990s.
The Astina was known by a massive number of different name around the work, including 323F, Astina and Allegro, depending on where you were. I had one myself from 2002-5.

@@lloydvehicleconsulting We got the Xedos, albeit as used imports.
The 90s was such a good time for Coupes. There was so much choice available
Yes, and now there are virtually none left on the market! Thank you ever so much indeed for watching and commenting.

Lovely car, and pretty rare these days. Also like the look of that Saab 9000 in the background in the early part of the video!

I had the Mazda 626 of a similar age and LOVED it. From memory there was a lot of common parts.
Yes, based on the Mazda 626 platform. Thank you for watching, sir!
Possibly my favourite coupe from the 90’s
I was really looking forward to driving it, sir!
Great little walkround Sir, i must say I think this is a much prettier car than the Ford Probe.
Been trying to get a Ford Probe on the channel for a long time now, sir...
You should totally do a video on that amazing 9000 Carlsson chilling in the background, but I'm not biased or anything.... lol
It's in the queue to be released on Sensible Secondhand Classics...
