  • Trevor spent 22 days staying at Selina Porto while working. He had visited Selinas in Lisbon, Puerto Escondido, and Chicago but this was the longest spent staying in a single location. Here is a quick review of his stay utilizing the co-living and coworking space covering the pros and cons of our time spent at the Selina in Porto, Portugal.

    Thanks for making this video! It’s really helpful to know prior to book that location. Much attractive than I thought! Thanks.

    Thank you for this video and all the great info! My husband and I were looking at this Selina in Porto. You mentioned that the coworking space closes at 10:00 pm which is good to know since we work EST hours. Do you remember/know if the private rooms have a desk? Also, I'm originally from MN. Go midwest!

      yeah, I believe that some of the private rooms had desks but you may want to check with Selina as their availability is limited. Go midwest! haha hope you enjoy your trip to Portubal

    Really useful summary, thanks - was this in November? I'm planning to go in February but might put off Europe until it picks up in the spring/summer

      This was in October :) I agree, Europe isn't looking too good at the moment. Spring will be a better option

    Hey, is there laundry facilities? If not, where did you do your laundry?

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  2 года назад

      no laundry services there. there is a laundromat around the corner about a block away. If you ask the front desk at Selina, they will send you there. Takes around an hour to do it but you have to stay there until it's done.

    I found this review very helpful! I’ve been looking at the Selena Coliving in South America, and found this very informative about the experience. As for the con with the Coliving, I think that’s just found to happen in a dorm room set up. I don’t think I could stay in one of those for longer than two or three nights because there’s always a chance one of the random people in place with is inconsiderate and messes with my sleep

    Hello! Thank you for the video! I'm planning to go to one of the selinas in protugal for the mid of august 2022. What do you think Will be the top 3 sorting between Porto, Geres and lisbon if my intention is to have a good environment for work (I will go for the 8-10 persons bedroom) Thanks!!

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  2 года назад +1

      I would say all the Selina's are good to work from as everyone goes there with the intention to be productive. I'd pick base on what you would like your environment to be like. Geres is obviously more nature whereas Porto and Lisbon will have a city vibe (with the option to work from cafe's if you like)

    nice! actually I have been there Porto spot at selina. I am just wondering that when I make a reservation with coliving, the breakfast option is worth to try?

    • @LostandLore

      breakfast is pretty good here so I'd definitely do it if its in your budget.

    Watching this from Selina Arequipa Peru, wanted to check this hotel as I have heard many things good and bad about this hotel chain and wanted to check it out for myself.
    I’m not sure if all Selina are the same, but it is 11:24pm and I cannot sleep because music is blasting outside in the bar.
    Selina is really nice, but not being able to sleep while I need to work tomorrow is a dealbreaker. I’m hating living here as a digital nomad.
    If you like partying and you don’t actually work you will love this place. As for me, this is the first and last time staying in a Selina .

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  7 месяцев назад

      It really depends on the location. Some places are going to have more parties. Others are going to be more chill. It really depends on the location itself and why people go there in the first place. They won't all be like that but some will have even more parties. Just have to do your homework.

    • @jorgeriveramx
      @jorgeriveramx 7 месяцев назад

      @@LostandLorehomework? what homework? you are telling me that when I rent a place to sleep I shouldn't assume I would be able to sleep?
      Literally every hotel/hostel I have stayed have a policy of no noise after 10 or 11pm (at most) this is the norm, not the exception.
      If you look at the Selina reviews, I'm far from the only one with this issue, and I have read the reviews before, I just assumed it was going to be this bad.

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  7 месяцев назад

      I think you have to consider where you are staying and why people are going there. i have stayed in plenty that are not crazy party hostels and i've stayed in a few that were (obviously. not my vibe)@@jorgeriveramx

    • @jorgeriveramx
      @jorgeriveramx 7 месяцев назад

      @@LostandLore Agree, but still I find it weird that a hostel that promote itself as a place for digital nomads (people that supposedly work and travel at the same time) have a lax noise policy. I have stayed in places that are much more friendly for work (except for the dedicated coworking space) that were not advertised for digital nomads.
      I've been traveling for the last 8 months and the one Selina I stayed has to be the worst place I stayed in regards to noise. Everything else was outstanding for the price, and I feel that if the noise was not an issue I would stay at Selina hostels whenever I had the opportunity.
      I also think I had bad luck as my room was in front of the bar. And I'm a very light sleeper. Also I have to add that the first two days it was fine as the music stopped at 10pm (Tuesday and Wednesday), the third it was until ~11:45pm (Thursday), the fourth I was out of there but I can imagine the party lasted longer as it was a Friday.

    • @LostandLore
      @LostandLore  7 месяцев назад

      makes sense! I think overall there are some nice Selinas in more remote/less party vibes. @@jorgeriveramx Sorry you had a rough time but maybe look for more homestay style spots? I'm getting older and finding myself enjoying the quieter spaces. where are you off to next?
