    Spot on video, couldn't have said it better ourselves! You're absolutely right, the new versions of DV+ we're releasing are not a replacement for the legacy DV+, but an alternative for tight locations and situations where the OEM solenoid is no longer viable. This new design also allows fitment on later model engines (e.g. Mk8 GTI and R) where the OEM diverter valve is now a Continental unit and is not compatible with the T9351 DV+. You'll also find the T9381 fits the Mk7 R with the IS38 turbo, and is slightly cheaper than the T9359 DV+ that has historically been on offer for these cars.

      I really appreciate a company like yourselves, taking the time to watch and comment on my video, and thank you for the additional info regarding other applications 😊
      I do really hope this more complex design deters copycat products that are in the mix currently and sadly being mistaken for underperforming GFB products.
      Also apologies for continually calling you 'Go faster Bits' 🙈 my mistake!
      Thank you again 🙏🏻

      Are you guys gonna tackle the "It needs lubricant" that people don't want to tackle after a year or let it be? It just makes it easier so people don't complain but every car needs maintenance if you want a GFB they should be ready to lubricate it every now and then

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  Год назад +1

      Yep I've covered the older version in previous videos, and found every time I've removed it to inspect the GFB diverter valve, it's been moving freely still. Again, refering to the fake versions doing the rounds, if they are relying on lubrication to help them work for a little bit longer before failing and causing major issues, that's owners may think even genuine ones need lubricated annually (which hasn't been the case for mine) hope that makes sense 👍🏻

    • @KaiThouKing
      @KaiThouKing Год назад +1

      @@NorthCoastWorkshop Oh I was asking in hopes GFB would make a more refined product but I appreciate the clarification. Essentially they shouldn't need lube annually

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  Год назад

      Ah I see, no probs 😊 yeah, I did oil my one the very 1st time I fitted it, only because I was just following what I'd been hearing. But every time I've had it out it's been perfect, moving freely. There's slight oil vapours in the boost system, due to the PCV valve system, so in a way that kinda lubricates it a little. It has worked perfectly over the past 3 years for me, but I am aware people still get issues.
      Appreciate the query and taking time to watch the vid also 👍🏻

    Great video! I ordered the GFB DV+ Low profile a few weeks ago and so far it's been great. I went this route to keep the factory DV as a backup. Also, I played it safe and bought the DV+ from GFB's site to avoid buying a counterfeit.

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  Год назад +1

      Cheers Brian, and yeah great idea to just get directly from them. The standard DV will be a handy backup too, as u know it's a previously working part, so tried and tested. Appreciate u watching, and happy motoring with the new DV+ 👍🏻

    Thanks. I didn't know that a low-profile version was available so I was going to get an authentic DV+. Now I'm going to take into account the difficulty level of reaching the original part and how a low profile version might affect a smoother installation over having a two-part assembly.

    Good point concerning the counterfeit products that are out there. I purchased a counterfeit product and right after installing the brand new part it would stick upon opening, causing a boost spike and then the boost pressure would oscillate as it dropped because the piston was not moving smoothly. GFB helped me determine I didn't have a genuine product and once I swapped in a genuine product it works much better.

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  Год назад

      Yeah it's probably a bigger problem than some owners realise, and ends up giving GFB a bad reputation. I appreciate you sharing your experience with this issue, and glad it's all working correctly now for you 👍🏻

    Would definitely like to see a technical comparison of how it actually stacks up when it comes to performance compared to a stock DV body unit. Even if it's just through VCDS logging and throttle/ boost delay...

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  Год назад

      Yeah if I'd had more time I'd have tried to log something on my OBDeleven app, but never got a chance and it's not as clear as OBDeleven for showing a good breakdown of what happens.
      The science behind how the GFB valves work, is explained by GFB themselves on their RUclips channel, if u want to check that out. Maybe someone will make a comparison soon for them 🤞🏻

    New gfb is better than oem dv? Is the best solution an oem RevG. dv with gfb dv+ adaprer installed?

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  5 месяцев назад +1

      That's a very strong combination, but I'd suggest the following....
      If your car is running standard tune/boost then a revision G is perfectly adequate and definitely an upgrade from the C or D revisions.
      If you have a tuned car or plan to tune it, and increase the boost, a GFB DV+ will be the perfect upgrade, make sure u buy it from a trustworthy site, and it can be combined with the solenoid of your current diverter valve, no matter what revision it is, as long as the solenoid part is working. It's not necessary to buy a upgraded diverter valve as well, just to rob the solenoid from it.
      Hope that helps a bit 👍🏻

      @@NorthCoastWorkshopThank You for your reply. My car has a hybrid turbo and is on the stage3 map. My current dv rev D. valve. D has a plastic piston, it probably has a pressure leak at the beginning in the low rpm range. Dv rev. G is an old version with a rubber piston - they are tight but are often damaged. I ordered gfb dv+, I will mount it to my rev D and I will share information on how it works. Best Regards😊

      @@NorthCoastWorkshopI need your help. I installed dv+, there is a significant improvement in acceleration response. The problem is the "foal:-) " sound of the air being released. Such psssytytyty! Does it damage the turbo rotor? I don't know if I can drive like that?

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  4 месяца назад

      It's just the way they operate and the sound is a product of how they sit in that sweet spot for better response.
      My one does it and I've just gotten used to it, but if it's something you can't live with day to day, a standard DV may be the only solution.
      There's arguments on both sides whether it is fine or does do any damage to the turbo.
      I have had no issues whatsoever for the past 3 years of mine, but that's not me offering any guarantee for other owners I'm afraid.

    I thought it was an upgrade ? To allow faster boost recovery and far better boost hold

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  Год назад +3

      I feel it's (the standard model of GFB DV+) an upgrade over the revision D diverter I had fitted originally. Definitely quicker boost recovery after a gear change.
      They should be stronger to hold more boost, though some owners say the OEM rev G is just as strong. This new low profile one is no better than the previous GFB DV+, just squeezed into a smaller package. Hope that makes sense 👍🏻
