A couple of weeks ago I commented that I watch your videos because they take my mind off all the hard things I'm going through with my husband being on hospice. I wanted to give an update to all those who were so supportive. He passed away this morning, June 1, 2024 at 2:48 am. I'm here watching this video today because you have a way of getting me through the hard stuff. Thank you Kylie for the daily blogs. Fly high my sweet husband 💔🥹
@@FlorenciaDeffisOficial thank you. I think it's going to take a long time to get past the pain I'm feeling right now. My heart feels like it's going to explode 💔💔💔
OMG Seventeen! I subscribed in high school - IN THE 80s!! I got rid of my stash at home once I graduated college and moved out of my parents house - BUT - I kept all of the "back to school" issues that were published end of summer and were a double thick issue. Did you know that before she became a singer, when she was a teenager, Whitney Houston was a model in Seventeen? She was in almost every issue back then.
Heres the thing. You dont have kids. You dont drink. You dont really go out to eat. You both have successful jobs. You can spend your money and time on whatever the hell you want.
Seventeen magazine quizzes were the best! Such simple times LOL. My friends and I absolutely loved to pour over that magazine! Oh my goodness and the embarrassing moments sent in by readers at the end of each magazine!!! I still remember some of them!
I'm the same in that I really get into something for a bit then move on to something else and on and on. It's a GOOD thing. It's awesome to know how to do so many things and to find a lot of things interesting. Being curious and intellectually curious are very valuable attributes that will serve you well all your life. It is, however, why I can't play an instrument or things that take a ton of practice to do well because I'd never muster the dedication to do the same thing every single day in order to get good enough at it. I never felt I HAD to be great at something, just good at a variety of things. At 61, it has served me very well. I know a bit about pretty much everything and can fix a lot of things on my car, remodel a house, photography, painting, pottery, glass blowing, drawing floorplans for houses I'll never build, writing (stories, poetry, songs, novels I never finished-lol), whitewater rafting, skydiving, SCUBA diving, dancing, mountain biking, sailing, first aid, disaster preparedness, how things work like electricity, tectonic plates, natural disasters (clouds, weather, tornadoes, etc.), just everything. Comes in handy. You never know who you'll end up having to talk to at a gathering so it's helpful to know about a lot of things so you can have a conversation with anyone about anything they're interested in. Recently I had to spend a hour talking about classic cars with the husband of a friend and I held my own. lol I am so not into cars, but I drank and I knew things. lol
Stoppp I need to go on the hunt for old magazines I love them! I heard that j14 is coming back soon and releasing new issues with posters for celebs that are in atm I am so pumped 🤣
I’ve been using Fuji cameras for years. I’ve never owned a cannon. There’s something about the shape of their cameras that fit neatly into your hands. They’re so comfortable and easy to use.
I literally just started subscribing to magazines again. I’m so sick of Pinterest. It’s overrun with ads and everything tastes the same and I’m just done. Made a recipe from Cooks Illustrated this week and it’s the best thing I’ve made in a long long time.
Exploring hobbies is so much fun! Love your new camera! Is so cute, the vintage look is so cool. Now I regret I sat on that one Fujifilm camera years ago because I wasn’t sure it’s okay quality as nobody had much reviewed it and now I’m slightly disappointed in myself. But I got a Canon Powershot series albeit I’d rather with a removable lens as I like the mirrorless more than compact form however I was on a budget. Few years before that I got my very first camera- a Nikon D3400 and got it also a telephoto lens (which had I more budget I’d not gotten the Canon as then I’d be able to get more expensive telephoto lens but oh well) I had a big dilemma between a compact digital & a bridge camera as I really liked the idea of capturing birds from far away or get as close to moon as I can, and bridge camera only came with regular alkaline batteries while I was more looking towards rechargeable battery pack (whatever you call those phone like battery types) Now I also want to upgrade my phone to something better and possibly with more zoom as I also still do mobile photography (which is how I initially began my photography journey which has always been my most important hobby as I am not as good in anything else but also been collecting few over the years) Anyway keep hobbying it’s the best thing in the world!

I call it "Circuit Hobbies!" Enjoy a hobby for a week, then on to the next. I always come back again!! The circle of crafts!! ❤ from the Oregon Coast

The seventeen workouts were iconic 🤣. My sister used to write fake stories to be included in magazines.
I used to LOVE those quizzes. Also the embarrassing stories were fun to read.

My aunt used to have a basket full of magazines in her guest bathroom and I wanted that when I grew up lol
Great video, as always. Enjoy your new camera! I really regret giving away our old Martha Stewart magazines.
