    How do you forget to thank Jay Bennet?

      Well, John Stirratt wasn’t thanked either, or Jim O’Rourke, or anyone else who worked on the record. Thank one, ya gotta thank ‘em all-but of course, Jeff was and is the band leader.
      Also, This award was more about historical repackaging than anything else.
      I have a question myself: Why do some fans act like Jay Bennett was the only Wilco member who mattered?

      @HEADSHOTPROLOL 7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, Jay Bennet was forgotten, but so was the entire band. So was most engineers, so was all the creative inspirations, so was most of the individuals at nonesuch and so was most critics who praised and spoke of the album and so was all individuals who helped share their love for the record and popularize the it and so was the radio stations of the day and so were the manufacturers of the equipment used and all the people who shaped the lives of those involved to end up creating the music in the first place etc. Etc.
      This is the infinite impossible issue of crediting. There's dozens, if not hundreds of people who in some small way sparked Yankee to become what it was and what it is. And even better, each and every one of those individuals will have different interpretations of who did what. It's a never ending story that, no matter how gracious, generous and caring you are in attributing and sharing that credit: not everyone will be happy. In fact, most won't be happy.
