I was shooting weddings few years ago and I had all kind of lenses from canon (35 f2 IS, 50 f1.8, 85 1.8, 16-35 f4, 24-70 f4, 70-200 f4). After quitting wedding photography I sold everything except 16-35 and bought canon rf 35 1.8 and rf 85 2.0. I only shoot now for hobby and for friends. With these 3 lenses I can do weddings, real estate, car photography, product photography and landscape. I don't need the L version because they are heavy and the differences are too small for what I do. Maybe I'll buy another cheap 70-200 f4 just for the reach, but anything else would be just a waste of money.
I also have a recommendation for beginners. I am a photo editor for weddings and I get all kinds of clients so I have to edit pictures taken with any camera that you can buy. Newer budget lenses are way better than old professional lenses, they are sharper and have less chromatic aberrations and flare. I would take a 50mm 1.8 stm over a 50mm 1.2L, 35mm f2 stm over 35mm f1.4 first generation, 16-35 f4 L over 16-35 f2.8 II, etc. Also, any camera newer than 5D mark IV, sony a7 III, nikon d810, including those mentioned are good enough cameras for general use. I can't see big differences between that generation and the latest cameras if the pictures are taken with correct settings. On the other hand, 5D III, 6D, etc are bad for current standards.
thanks for advice, i shoot weddings currently with canon 6d with sigma 35mm f1.4 and canon 85mm f1.8, i have canon 70-200 f4 mark i, 50mm stm, and crop body with sigma 17-50 f2.8, i was thinking about buying 2nd 6d body to shoot with 2 bodies one with 35mm other with 85mm, or to switch to sony a7iii because of af problems with my sigma 35mm, sony is just much better but used cost me about 1500usd where i can get 6d for 500usd.

Thanks for the comment and I am sure someone will get value from it down the road. This is the idea of what I was trying to share from the video.
