Great question! The AirStone adhesive is very thick, so if it's not completely smooth, that's okay! I would try to have as smooth of a surface as possible, but we found that the product is very forgiving.

What if your bricks on your fireplace are not a smooth surface...but have little ups and downs....can you still put this product over it?
