Me and My crew, Benjamin Bellette and Gemma Baker set out to film a pilot for a travel series aimed at recreating something that has been lost from this world. In 2018 Anthony Bourdain passed on from this world to the next, with him went a curious mind, a sharp wit that was tempered with the cynicism of a former drug addict and blue collar worker, who some how got gifted the best job known to man.
Im no AB nor am I trying to be, but this series is as much a selfish effort for me to create more of the episodes Id binge on, that are no longer being released.
Join me, in my journey, its cost me a year of my life and the better part of my saving just to put out this one episode, I dont ask for any contribution but a like, a comment and a subscribe would mean the world.... Literally.

This was a great documentary! I am also a Balinese dancer and have come from Australia to Bali to preserve the dance culture. Since moving to Bali, I've come to realize how much more of the culture and the island needs to be preserved, and this documentary captures a lot of those issues. Well done!
That’s so kind of you Deena. Stay tuned this is the first in a series, I hope you will continue to enjoy us letting the places we go tell their own stories rather than people forcing a glossy narrative for the pure purpose of making dollars. I believe people actually want to know about the place beyond the surface
@@thewildlifeclub I love that, and couldnt agree more! Keep it up. I've subscribed, can't wait to see more of your videos
Enjoyed watching this. Appreciate the time and effort that goes into making something like this when RUclips is 95% low effort slop these days.
Appreciate the tip of the hat… we are here for the long term. Just fighting the difficulty of turn around at the editing stage. We going into shoot ep 2 soon
Well done mate, keep up the good work
Amazing stuff. Wowee what a journey. Excited to see what's next
@@jontych001 appreciate you!
beautiful documentary. im currently in bali in this land belongs to their people. we have to leave and respect their culture.
Awesome brother, this story has a lot of heart, love the old school footage at the end too 😊
@@bushmanmick777 yeah man the old school surf film makers paved the way
Thank you! I truly enjoyed it and loved the commentary!
Your very kind! Thank you for watching 🙃
Thank you for creating this great documentary. I really enjoyed watching this and can not wait to visit Bali and experience their culture. I loved you explored the spiritual side of Bali, which i am really interested in
I love to get off the beaten path. I wore the bracelet for a long time and strangely I feel it brought me peace. We are currently in the planning phase of our next episode, I hope you report back after you’ve been.
Outstanding documentary mate. Thoroughly enjoyed it
Where do you think we should go next?
Great film. Loved this 🩷
Thank you, I think you will like the next one too :)
That was great! A fantastic overview and insight into what is a multifaceted paradise with such rich culture. Congrats
Yeah it’s a shame more people don’t wander further off the commercial travel path. But maybe that’s what makes it so special
Quality top notch content right here! Mantap bli…🫶🏽
Thanks Patrick, more to come, stay tuned!
Great job mate I first went to Bali in 1980 a young surfer. Went back many times until 1993. I could see the change coming.
It's a great documentary! Hope to see more docus 😊 loved it a lot !
Glad you enjoyed it! Means a lot coming from my favourite qld photographer
Wow…that was awesome…thank you
Your more than welcome
Great exploration of Bali man! I’m glad I could help a little bit😊
Oh your helped a lot, the kinfinity images look great, thank you!
I agree with the other comments. An excellent documentary. Beautiful shots, and the voiceovers are good. Hope this gets the views it deserves. What is the camera and lenses that were used?
Black magic 6 and 4 k with a bunch of primes and the 70-200 f4
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this.. Great work.
Thanks for watching, more to come!
Loved this doco, you have soul
Appreciate you! Where should we go next?
❤🔥 great work.
Appreciate it, more to come!
Little Ripper 😍
Definitely a fave!
This is an awesome video i was out recording today and thought about the same things
Thank you boss!
I grew up attending Jakarta International School from 1989 to 1994. Back then, Bali was our playground. I recently returned in 2024, and Bali has deteriorated significantly. There is overpopulation and too many damn bule, especially those "Ozzie Ozzie" folks. Great video! I prefer my home town San Diego! Gila bule banyak banget di Bali. Parah.
It’s certainly interesting to balance an economy, and in an economy on the world stage as well as remaining the paradise people know and love. I have my thoughts but I feel my job is to open the conversation not impose my thoughts.
Cool
Beautifully shot mate!
Wait til we break out the full frame!
Man those bikes are so nice
Appreciate you!
It's a very honest film...well done
@@michaelgore-j4o Thank you Michael
Great story. I first went to Bali in 2015 and fell in love with the people and the land. I will end up living there. I an so sad I did not get to see the old Bali. I dislike all the new changes and seen how it is getting way too commercial just like Australia. We as a human race are loosing our authenticity to the corporate way.
I agree with lots of what you say, it is still possible to find gems. Where will you settle?
Saw your post on Jakub's WhatsApp group. Absolutely incredible! What camera system do you use?
Mostly Blackmagic pocket 6 and 4K with some Sony supplementary footage. Jakub also shot some scenes on his Kinfinity. What system are you using?
@thewildlifeclub: thats awesome. I am on S5iix. I am just lost in the space and havent been able to do any work. Currently in Canada, actively seeking someone to work with and gain some confidence
@ S5iix, L mount. Haven't been able to shoot anything at all due to extreme lack of confidence. Trying to find someone who can help with the journey and guide me. Based in Canada currently
@@Shalin.S.Shah.just got the L mount as well.
I feel like figure out what you want to shoot the most, mostly by what you either love to do or watch outside of film niche.
For a lot of people that’s skateboarding or surfing sort of things, try and make a one minute clip of something you love and then let it grow
@ thank you for invaluable advise. Appreciated!
Things Bali need to improve:
1. Town plans
2. Terrible roads
3. Terrible public transports, or the lack thereof
4. Crappy human resources
5. Unfortunately it still falls under "islamic watching eyes", which means gambling is illegal. But everything else that could be considered "sins" is somehow okay. So that's weird.
Other than those, it's an amazing place
So tell me … do you like Bali?
Truth.
❤😢🙏🏽👏🏽
Thank you Lilisbet
Price like Europe but standard 50-100 times lower 💩
You have Soekarno and Soeharto mistaken for their history. Please do recheck. Soekarno is the first president and the one who responsible for the monetary crisis is Soeharto.
Thank you I shall take a closer look at my sources.
@ but it’s still a good documentation to show another pov of how damaged Bali has become.
I think damaged may not be right term, at risk maybe better?
@@thewildlifeclub some of current environmental issues : sloping land surfaces because of the excessive groundwater extraction, a few parts of Bali is easy of flooding when it comes to rainy season, never ending trash problem like our friend Garry has explained and recently the local government shutdown the public transportation, and the list will continue.

Thanks for the support mate
One day you might like to update your voice over. Pictures good. Reflections though are not fully informed.
Girls in dresses on swings aren't less cool than a man who likes motor bikes.
The person who brought you food wasn't like an Italian Nona, they were showing quintessential Balinese hospitality.
If you'd spoken with either swing girl or your hostess, maybe you'd have enjoyed more and been able to put aside the studied cynicism.
PS ma and pa tourist could hope that all the camera-holding youtubers would step away from the people and places. Take their fluffy 🎤 home so the Balinese can get on with their lives without being characters in your stories.
Thanks for watching, appreciate your opinions
