Probably the most famous of the stores in Tokyo but definitely overpriced on certain items but great store to see vintage items jam packed over 3 floors
7:11 man... oh man... if that isn't the best track on the whole Genesis library I don't know what is.
It's O.K. Mr. Wright Way I don't have that Neo Geo money either.
Awesome video! I visited earlier this week and bought all the Mr. Driller games I could find in there, including that new GBA Mr. Driller 2 copy in the glass case at the 12:37 mark. Glad to say I’ve finally been there, it was well worth the hour or so I spent looking at everything.
Great video brother travel blogs are really a good thing 🎉
Love that Steve "if you got that Neo Geo money to burn". 😂😂😂😂😂 Summer of lat year I dropped $530 on a US region AES console. I haven't regretted it whatsoever. Now you mentioned the Bandai Wonderswan in this. I can say from owning a Wonderswan and a Swan Color that it is a really cool, neat retro handheld to collect for! I also love when stores in Japan label electronics as "junk". That was how I bought my Final Fantasy IV edition Wonderswan Color off of eBay directly from Japan. When I got it in the mail I didn't think it worked (I couldn't get it to turn on)
Years later after keeping it, I discovered it does in fact work it's just the on button is a little finicky. I don't know if you have seen that limited edition Wonderswan Color before, but it's shell is all white with clear translucent buttons on it. Very cool looking!!!! Plus it's the only handheld video game system I know of that runs on only 1 AA battery!!!!
Where's that instrumental from that starts playing at 7:11 ??
I’m so happy I found this channel 👏🏾
Hey man! From what ive heard and seen its pretty much a tourist trap now - seeing all the Gaijins confirms that!
When the streets of rage music drops.. Ohh yeah bumpin. And id love to check out that store..if i can ever make it to Japan. Good video as always. Keep your head up keep doin it the wright way. Boughieee
"Neo Geo Money" is a whole different flex lol. Japan and the Tig ol's lol. That white PS3 was clean though. Cool SNK figures they had there tho.
lol
Thanks for the video first time seeing you on youtube. Subscribed.
Welcome aboard!
Awesome video man 😎!
It's not that it's overrated, just over a decade of youtubers and review sites telling everyone that it's a must hit, it can no longer live up to expectations. Plus, the whole Retro Revival that's been happening since the apocalypse (2020) and prices have gone up. I think even super potato started selling on ebay. 1st time in Japan (2007) and yes, things were insanely cheap. In 2017, prices were not bad, but no longer dirt cheap. Now, this year, the wanted stuff can be insanely expensive.
You hit the nail on the head. Thats the one.
Awesome video
I just found out Japanese and European PS3 games work on the US PS3. I ordered several Kamen Riders and Battle Vs Chess. Not sure how far down the Rabbit hole I’m going but these 3 were a very good start!
I found deals there ferusre! That place is sick! The third floor has alot of cool fighting arcade cabinets!

Mr. Wright Way I have seen a lot of your videos and I will be traveling to Japan can you please suggest some games that you recommend picking up for a first timer? I really want something that doesn’t really have a region lock. Thank you for your time.
The ones in my videos. Check the other Japanese videos out
@@MrWrightWay Thank you so much for your reply I really appreciate it!
I treat SUPER POTATO as a museum. Love going there looking at all the rare and expensive stuff, hoping to find it somewhere else haha!
But... Super Potato in Osaka and Nagoya are actually a bit better in terms of prices. You can find some awesome stuff in the junk section somtimes.
I got a store in my city. Much smaller but the things they have are cool. Way to expensive if around the area and look around like a museum.
sry i forgoten and a famicon basic computer price?
That place looks amazing Mr Wright Way. I'd love to go to Super 🥔 in Japan so many games 🆒👍🎮 that place does not look overrated to me at all but yeah if it's expensive and you can buy things they sell cheaper somewhere else then that's a better idea for sure
hi how much now a super potato in a game boy famitsu 500 rare model f2 a sharf sf1 snes tv and a panasonic q console?
Any best shop you would recommend to get affordable switch games?
Traders
Thanks much appreciated
I like this kind of Japanese retro games store visit. It’s fun!
Thanks for telling the truth about super potato. I always heard good things about it, but I can believe it's overrated
I was there last year, I’d say it’s definitely overrated, but I always enjoy spending time in a retro game store. Brought back a few games.
How much does it cost you to travel japan cause I wanted to go on my 25th birthday but to me its pricey even for one day?
2500- 4000
I think anyone coming from the US will find prices ridiculously high going to Supa Potato, but I found stuff that was either around the selling price on E-bay (and checked on Price Charting too) or cheaper, and to me that's acceptable. I say "to me" being a Chilean living in China, two countries where retro gaming is either super expensive (the former) or it flat out doesn't exist (the latter). Since I know a bit about prices, I can confirm consoles are very, very expensive, but games are not that bad. I found tons of games in the two Supa Potato I visited in Tokyo last week.
I prefer Mandarake for my expensive stuff. Super Potato don't even help you find anything, I went there and they basically said find it yourself. I know you like going hardoffs and Surugayas but I don't find anything in them either.
Compared to my country where there are no retro games stores this establishment is like visiting a different planet. It has amazing ambience. I would sometimes go to their arcade floor to rest. There are candy, drinks, icecream and you can watch others playing classics. If time is limited just go to Super Potato.

I agree. Trader is way better. And Book offs and Hard offs.
Rez special edition: fun for the whole family.
@1:44 and 3:40 Ah, I See You're a Man of Culture As Well.
I hear super potato the best but I think the smaller store would be better wouldn’t they be small mom and pop style stores.. anyways watching your video 😊 I would love to go to Japan 😊
For sure not going there anytime soon but I will lol
I hear the Hard off and book off stores are better to get deals I think the days of getting a deal at super potato are long gone due to the rising popularity especially since Covid.
Go find Ecotech while in Japan.
A bit yes. But its a nice cozy place.
do you remember seeing any psvita?
Yes a lot of
AH Sengoku Musou in the first few mins..... honestly i think now people are bored of koei's games
Hard off
I 2nd that
Dude Super Potato isn’t overrated
FRANK.. yes it is!
The like button
I was in Japan in the beginning of this year and I didn’t even bother to go there lol 😂
Akihabara in general is completely OVERpriced. Most of customers are naive tourists who don't know the market values at all, or think "it's a good deal because it's cheaper than US/Europe" ...You should have seen Akihabara during the pandemy, when all the clients were Japanese : all the stores had to respect the onlinle market values, there was no BS with the domestic clients. As soos as the country reopened and Akihabara was flowed with foreigners, the price more than triple within 1 month.
First lol
Ever since metal jesus got in there, prices went up. 😂
Not only getting in there but buying that little ralph ps1 game for like $350 lol. Bro the japs gonna think were all rich.
