A brilliant video Brian. The temperatures are not totally ideal, but are far better than what they were and should prolong the life of the mini-computer a lot better. I'd like to see them try and put a Gen 12 Intel CPU in one. You could sell them off as space heaters.
Good stuff, i still use Throttlestop to undervolt a toasty i7 8750H in a GE73 laptop - kept it under control for long StarCitizen sessions right through the heatwave without fail
@Andy: I also am looking to try and reduce toasty "normal" operating temps on my lappy's i7-8550U. Have already used TS to slightly undervolt where it's rock stable at -60.5mv for CPU Core and CPU Cache. Can I ask you to share some of your key TS settings so I can try them a bit. To be honest, I am really new to TS and the documentation, while often extensive, is actually quite confusing at times. Would really appreciate some tips/feedback on TS. Cheers!
Recently i noticed my cpu is going 'bananas' hot (to +80-95 Celsius) when watching RUclips videos at 1080p and above. I tried a couple more browsers (Opera and Edge) to eliminate a probability it might only happen on Google Chrome, but it still happens on other browsers. I don't get this much heat on demanding games or watching HD movies at higher resolution. Any idea why would RUclips specifically be acting in this manner ? [I also tried updating Google Chrome and reinstall completely]
This will always be the nature of the beast with these minis. Simply put, there is no opportunity to provide individual component heatsinks. One single fan will never be adequate. Users should not have to play these "games" and compensate for them. This will always persist as the law of physics will always win. Cheers Mate !
Great video as always you do afantastic job. Any ideawhy Microsoft removed the ability to keep windows frompowering down wifi adapters from the adapter an from the advanced power settings in windows 11.
I recently had an HP Envy x360 Convertible laptop. I had a funny thing happen. All was working well until I removed and replaced the M2 SSD drive. I installed Windows and noticed the CPU speed went from normal to 0.40ghz. Installing all drivers from HP didn’t work, I even went as far to order Genuine HP recovery media and that didn’t fix it either. I installed the original M2 SSD drive back into the laptop and that still didn’t fix the issue. In the end I cut my losses and sold it as faulty on eBay. I take it that I was experiencing throttling of the CPU in that laptop? That’s what I put it down to anyway
@@Britec09 Thnx i have to see the video again, the window of the program was sometimes very small and did not see at the end what you changed, but i guess it works differently with Ryzen? Instead of an Intel chip though...
"sudo apt install thermald" command in the terminal for Debian and Ubuntu based Linux systems, and you are set to go..... also do: sudo apt install tlp
Hope this video helps, let me know below whether you like this content?
I like all your content man 🙂

Nice one Brian for those caught up with this problem.
Thanks 👍

Nice one Brian!
Great video, never used throttlestop but going to be a program I look at in the future. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Small & compact can mean heat build-up. Nice video Brian.👍
You got that right!
good video and thank you, Brian.
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent video. Thanks.

You're welcome
Thanks Britech.
Please do a giveaway on one of the extra mini pcs you have.
Thanks

Am Trying to non k overclock with this software since my bios doesnt have it ALL THE VIDEOS ARE ABOUT UNDERVOLTING can you make a video about that?
Does it work for laptops, im using a very old laptop "Acer Aspire 4730Z
90 deg C is still way too hot 🔥 in my opinion. I would want to bring that down to something like 75 deg C to be sure the system will last longer.
Me pc with 65°:
never had this issue with lenovo laptop ideapad 510 never thermal throttles i use hdwinfo64 portable app for that
is celeron fulload in 64°C is overheating?idk😂
Undervolt with Intel XTU?
I would need to look at the software on that machine
not work with n100 windows 10?
Does it also work on a Ryzen Laptop (5800H) ?
Yes

@@Britec09 Do you know the program AMD APU Tuning Utility?
im not sure why so many intel processors won't run at or above their design speeds. my AMD 5 is usually in turbo. very stable...
Because Intel are struggling with temps right now
its because its basically a laptop without a screen and in a different form factor
That pc needs some thermal paste 🤔
"sudo apt install thermald" command in the terminal for Debian and Ubuntu based Linux systems, and you are set to go..... also do: sudo apt install tlp
shouldn't be doing benchmarks on that anyway LOL
How did you convince them it was Faulty.
They told me it was faulty
@@Britec09 oh, if it was me. I would’ve had to prove it some way.
good
Thanks
One way to solve this: Don't buy intel.
Is ThrottleStop will fix my laptop and avoiding sleep ?
turn off sleep
@@Britec09 ok
