"The Crystal Cave" - Iceland Ice Cave (extended cut)

- The glacier ice cave as seen in the timelapse short "Crystalapse: Wonders of Iceland" ( • Crystalapse: Frozen in... ).
This cave is very blue, due to the light filtered through dense glacial ice. It is quite big, absolutely beautiful. The holes in the cave are known as moulins, from which dripping water carved the cavern years ago. It is located near Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Skaftafell in South Iceland, at the base of Svinafellsjokull Glacier. The cave is difficult to access by normal car and only accessible in the cold of winter while the risks of collapse are lower.

I know who disliked this. It's six Icelanders worried that too many tourists will want to go to Iceland after seeing this video. And they have every right to be. :-( This much beauty cannot sustain so many tourists, but it would break my heart never to see such beauty in my life.

My dad was in glacier tour he is in ice guide but now he is with kaiiak tours on glacer water
I'd like to ask Icelanders, are there occasions when melting of the ice occurs? The thought of a whole cave of ice and icy water crashing down upon you while you're in it is kind of scary, hehe. Does it remain frozen this way all year round?

If I am going in late february, how can i get nin there? DO I have to go on a tour? Or can I get out of my car and walk myself?
This was taken last year and this specific cave has melted since then, I went on an icecave toure 3 weeks ago and highly doubt that you can drive by your self, you will need a specially made off road jeep. but If you still want to go i recommend LocalGuide in fargurholmsmyri.
I'm a year late, but did you go? It must be really cold in February!

And by people you mean religious people with a monotheistic creation myth? some people, not all people (you implied all people even though you never said it). Anyway, for most people Allah is the muslim god, not the greek Zeus, not the nordic Oden and so on... In english anyway wich the rest of the sentence was in. If the sentence was Arabic I would tend to agree with you.
