I wouldn't recommend putting it right up against the speaker like a normal dynamic mic, I would suggest putting it possibly a fe feet away or if your room sound good, (you like the reverb in your room that you're recording in) then maybe place it toward the middle of the room aimed at the speaker.
Hey Anthoni! I appreciate the comment and the support. I'm not entirely sure about distribution to other countries, but I assume Zoom does sell to other countries. samsontech . com/wheretobuy/international/#results and you don't have to adjust any other settings. You pretty much just turn it on and start recording after you put an SD card in.
I like how you say that he needs to have more variety in his RUclips drummers, and then list the #2 daily most viewed drummer, Cobus and the #4 daily most viewed drummer Luke Holland lol That's not a very representative variety. Go check out all the drummers I feature on my page! Everyone of them have awesome videos to enjoy!
I use the Blue yeti Mic now, I use to use regular mics and the Blue Yeti Mic acutially is better, if you check My videos on My chanel, you can se.There is one video that is just the effects of the Blue Yeti Mic with out any sound editing like compresiion and reverb and tuff. it sounds great in Strereo mode.
Can you please tell me a good program to match up the audio/video with the music you play? I've been having to use Windows Move Maker and it's really difficult when the program doesn't let you match them up 100% perfect
Hey Casey. From my Kat 3 elec kit into a 4 channel Tascam DR 40 with 2 directional mics and 2 1/4" inputs from my kit. Point DR at my speaker and adjust recording levels to record a cover. Would I need to run this audio recording thru software or straight into my cpu as a saved mp3?
I know this is an older video, but a good one. Are any of your videos/recordings on RUclips done with the single mic using the Zoom H2n? You have me thinking about buying one and I'd like to hear what a recording sounds like.
Mitchell Hey Mitchell. Have you gained any knowledge on audio/video recording and an interface using an H2? I've had one since it first came out. I don't have any others so my experience is, well, limited but the H2 sounds great when the gain is adjusted. I'm trying to record myself playing on drumless tracks without spending hundreds of dollars. Thanks.
hey I am trying to use the audio off the camera but after recording the drumming how do I put my drumming into the song and remove the original drum beats of the song I know you probably won't read this but If you did please help ?
hey can u plz tell me if the CAD PRO-7 Drum Microphone Kit (7-Piece) on the sight u mentioned is worth it...its a bit cheaper than the ones u recommended...
Shuckle Gaming I have a Tama Superstar Hyperdrive Maple and those drums sound really good. They have plenty of attack and low end boom and also really good suspension mounts for the toms. And they have die-cast hoops which you usually don't get in this price class.
hey i noticed on the zoom mic on the top it has 4 settings what setting do you put it in?? sorry that i now tell u this cuz this video is kinda old please answer back
Thanks for your Video. My problem is to "mix" my drum video with the original track I'm playing. How can I lower the original drums on the track? thanks in advance!
Please help me on this question: I managed to record and film a cover with my Ipad. I put the movie with audio into a video program (btw: which one are u using?). Then I put the "real" music in it (on a separate audio line). But how can I now synchronise the music with my drumming? Do you just try until it's okay? I tried to do so, but it turned out to be not synchronised very prezise ... ? Thx in advance and cheers from Switzerland
Do you know of a cheap interface I can use? I have mics, and I like audactiy but I need the interface because the mic input doesn't cut it. I need to record brass and strings. Suggestions?
Hey I just wanna know 1) how did you record video on the mic & 2) what will be the cost of whole recording set with mics, converter, lights, video cameras etc
Hey Casey Just wondering when you do a cover for example Do you Drum to the track in your earphones while recording then sync Audio and video together on the music Software or do you record playing to the song Playing out loud and film at the same time then sync both together using the music software this is where I'm a bit stuck can you help me
Hey! ive been looking to make some covers but i cant find Drum sheet music anywhere! would you be able to explain how you memorize the whole song or is there tabs i can purchase anywhere?
+Miguel Luzuriaga Sheet music is almost impossible to find for new songs. Most people just hear the same song over and over until they get it. At least that's what a lot of drummers do, me included.
K1ll3rDRUMS Right. And if you play only sheet music, you will not become a good drummer because of lack of creativity. Playing free is important for creativity.
Thanks so much for this video. I've been doing research for weeks, but your videos taught me in less than a day. I have a double kick drum kit so it's kinda funky. I've been watching your videos for years now, but I've never seen your instructional vids. Keep up the awesome work.
***** Actually, all I needed for my electronic drums was a usb cable and garageband which I already had. But for a better quality video, using a software for recording electronic drums is better because all the rubber and mesh sounds get in the way with a Zoom Mic.
I also use a Rock Band mic, and it is good, but I don't have a program to record the sound with. Sound Recorder gets it really dodgy and throws it out of sync eventually. It's just a quite cheap laptop that I record the sound on, however I can then give it a bump on a very decent computer. So just what I'd like to know is what program could I use on a W7 cheap laptop, that wouldn't do such nonsense
How do you sync the recording from the zoom, the video recorded, and the song you want to cover all in one? i know you probably cant do it via windows movie maker haha. any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Hey man i what to do drum covers on my channel and am going to get the zoom h2n to record my drums but how would I put the audio I record to the video I record and what program can I use to do that that's free COOP3RDRUMM3R
Hey! I think you can connect the zoom to your camera (I'm not sure please google it up), but if not, you can record it seperately and connect the zoom to your computer using a port. For only audio, I recommend Audacity because it's 900% free and easy to use and record. Let me know!
Thanks I have heard of it before it's just that am not that pc smart unless it comes to gaming are soundboard at church but when it comes to recording drums to audio to video I don't
Hi there Coop3drumm3. I was wondering if you could answer a couple of question you have not touched on in this video. Say, you have your drums miked and paired with an adequate mixer/recording interface: 1 do you need an additional recording device to capture the recording or does the mixer do that for you, 2: would you record your cover while playing in the background so the mixer catches you and the song simultaneously and 3: what Software do you use to sync your cover music file, the original song audio, and your video file/s? Thank you ahead of time for your help! :-)
Hi i have a roland electronic drum kit, which can be recorded on the control pad. But i can't input any audio/songs that i want to play along/record with... Is there anyway i could change this? Love your channel by the way
I know your a drummer and you showed us how to record drums with the Zoom (which was pretty informative) but what would you suggest for guitar or bass? Put it up to the speaker (like you see when famous bands record or perform live) or put it far a way so it can pick it up nicely? I hate to bother you with stuff like this but I enjoy learning about new ways to do things
Hey Coop3r I'm a drummer and I record straight from my GoPro Hero 4. I have the alligator clip mount and sometimes I have trouble finding places to clip the camera on to film me playing. Would you suggest a tripod or something?
My friend i want to make a " career " like u did with your drums but i am playing guitar. I don't have any problems with the recording i am fine but i have 1 question. If i try to play a song with the original song at the same time but without the original guitar, i will can be a youtube partner?
OK my question is this. On a budget is there a way for me to record myself doing a cover of a song I like using the recording of the song itself where the viewers can see it but I can also monitor it through a headset in my ears so I can play affectively? I see drumming RUclipsrs all the time where you can hear the song playing but you can also hear them playing but I see that they either have on headphones or earbuds how do I accomplish that on a budget
Hello , iam jenny . I have one problem that to record the drums with one mic . My software is audacity . I have a problem that I play drums with the track playing and the drum cover is kind of slowing down
Great clear video. Thanks. Maybe you can make a video tutorial about how to put the audio recording and video together or is there a device who records both (audio and video), except a gsm? I look forward to your next video
The Zoom H2n that Casey showed us is sold for a reasonable price of $179/$199, depending on where you look. There's an accessory kit for $40 that comes with everything you need. It has so many benefits. It's probably what I'm going to purchase. I've been researching for a while now and haven't found anything like this until this video. Again, thank you for posting.
I Wanna know what i can do with an "Alctron UM900" mic to record my drums, and i thought you could check the mic out and maybe tell me how i can probably record with a good sound? :D thanks :)

How do you upload the drumless track you're going to be playing along to? Or do I have this all wrong? I'm assuming you can find the drumless track on RUclips and add it to your DAW somehow?? Any advice is appreciated!!
HI Coop3rdrumm3r...i am from india. Wanted to buy a good quality drum kit for myself..started learning drums 2 yrs back.Just wanted your recommendation.
Can u add a video showing what to do on the computer once you have recorded files on the h2n? Also, is it possible to record drums straight onto a track so you don't have to use a video editing program to match up the drums with the track?
hey guys I am buying a new drum kit for myself please do tell me in the comments which one is the best among this 3 - 1 pearl decade maple 2 Mapex armoury 3 tama silverstar birch
Hi Casey. Thanks for your awesome videos. They have helped me a great deal with my start up. Quick question if I may?... I'm thinking of buying a gopro to record but with android phones as good as they are now do you think my galaxy s8 with a zoom h2n as an external mic would be a good start option? I would buy the gopro as well but unfortunately my budget doesn't allow. I'd appreciate your help on this. Keep up the great videos 👍🤘
Very good info from you. I want to record bass covers so I was thinking about using that zoom mic too. Do you think it would work just as good for bass covers? The mics that you get on the webcams are really not that good. I was actually making covers that way but I want it the sound to be a little bit better without spending a lot of money.
Hey cooper! What's up, I appreciate and love the painting and the broken signed stick you surprised with hah, it's framed in the room of music and drums sets..! Anyway I was curious if using only a gopro I have to record with, I do it to watch myself...but is there a way you can change the sound, I love the wide view. It does the job for myself but RUclips in your opinion? The video isn't the best, but it convenient when alone... You ever tried??? Thanks COOOOPER
Another little tip and trick, is to put the microphone above the drummers head, central, then it picks up the whole drum kit, ive recorded a few tracks, like this, and even at gigs, this is a good way to pick up the whole kit!
With an electric kit i think you just run a lead to your recording software like garage band but you cant change every drum unless you have a mixer i think
Hey Cooper, how do you get past all that copyright bs that RUclips pulls when your playing drums with a song in the background? can you still monetize your stuff?
Can you put a video showing how to do drum covers using a electronic drum kit, or tell me how to input both the drum sounds and the song in which I want to cover?

It saves as a .wav file (But I believe you can save it as other formats too) and so you just drag and drop from your desktop into iMovie I believe

I'll be posting a tutorial on this after I finish the recording tutorials. :)
I keep mine in the Stereo setting. :D
loving this series

Christian Ark garage band
Nice video
Exactly Casey or someone make a video on how to sync the sound of your drums with the MP3 your are playing
Visit this RUclips video, ruclips.net/video/1yJegmVAxZQ/видео.html, for an excellent, concise explanation on how to sync audio to video.
Coop3rdrumm3 i'm buying a drum set what you using on Wrecking ball drum cover

Can I use the handy recorder to make drum covers with my ipad? All my covers are made completely with my ipad 2.
So if I have just that microphone and a go pro and set it up like u did, do u think I can make a good quality video?
I have one major question what if you can play music that is copyrighted music such as linken park will that be ok to cover on
Yes, when you cover someone's song, it automatically means that it isn't your song
That's what a cover is
Can you please tell me a good program to match up the audio/video with the music you play? I've been having to use Windows Move Maker and it's really difficult when the program doesn't let you match them up 100% perfect

Is the Zoom H2n mic a condenser microphone?
Plus, does anyone think a condenser microphone be good to use for recording a drumset? Please and Thanks
my question is how do you get the music you want without drums and then after you have the track that you want to play over how do you record on it
Hey cooper what would be better one zoom mic or two shure mics thanks
can you use this mic for electronic drums ?
You wouldn't need to, because you can connect the electronic drums to your computer which is a less tedious job.
Andrew Lim Its actually harder because you need to buy a $100 audio midi set up and its confusing to try and set it up.

Coop3rdrumm3r,I actually wanted to buy an export series, can you please recommend me an export series kit,EXX or EXL?Which will be the better one?
how do you record a video along the song at the same time
There's no other way than to sync them yourself using an editing software. Sorry man! Correct me if I'm wrong.

Can you record a great sound with a go pro ?
So I have a Dell Laptop. I have no mics just the built in mic. How do I make it sound good just with the laptop.
Where do you get the songs, you are covering, without drums?
Hi i have a roland electronic drum kit, which can be recorded on the control pad. But i can't input any audio/songs that i want to play along/record with... Is there anyway i could change this? Love your channel by the way

How would it sound if i just used a normal dynamic microphone?
HEY COOPER! Do you recomend ZBT, ZXT, ZHT or another cymbal pack for my kit? Please answer :(
they give a nice cymbal sound and if you have 2 you can mix the sound of the kit in stereo to make it sound 'bigger' and better

Hey man I just wanted to ask what kind of lights are you using for your covers?
Can I use a single sm57?
Probably not. The mic set up I use is the SM57 pointed at the snare. A cheap mic for the bass. Also a decent mic for the overhead
i use imovie 09, how would i be able to import the recording to imovie?
Great clear video. Thanks. Maybe you can make a video tutorial about how to put the audio recording and video together or is there a device who records both (audio and video), except a gsm?
I look forward to your next video
What is the actual name of the zoom mic?
The Zoom H2n that Casey showed us is sold for a reasonable price of $179/$199, depending on where you look. There's an accessory kit for $40 that comes with everything you need. It has so many benefits.
It's probably what I'm going to purchase. I've been researching for a while now and haven't found anything like this until this video. Again, thank you for posting.

opinions on my drumset: Tama SuperStar
ekieklund274
The Superstars are really good, They have a better punch than the Sonor Select Force (and are cheaper), and they also have more low end. They come with die-cast hoops which you usually don't get in this price class, the tom suspension mounts are better than those of the Pearl Exports and if you know how to tune your drums, you will get really nice tones from them.

How do you upload the drumless track you're going to be playing along to? Or do I have this all wrong? I'm assuming you can find the drumless track on RUclips and add it to your DAW somehow?? Any advice is appreciated!!
How do you sync the mic with the camera
Can this zoom mic plug with xlr cable to and audio interface
Can you connect camera to mixer
HI Coop3rdrumm3r...i am from india. Wanted to buy a good quality drum kit for myself..started learning drums 2 yrs back.Just wanted your recommendation.
Thanks for ur recommendation!!
+Aditya Krishnakumar When i played drums, i started with YAMAHA Gigmaker, they are pretty good and cheap for start!
Thanks bro...
Can u add a video showing what to do on the computer once you have recorded files on the h2n? Also, is it possible to record drums straight onto a track so you don't have to use a video editing program to match up the drums with the track?
Do you have an endoresment deal with Pearl? I have seen people get them with a less popular RUclips channel.
hey guys I am buying a new drum kit for myself please do tell me in the comments which one is the best among this 3 -
1 pearl decade maple
2 Mapex armoury
3 tama silverstar birch
What are the overhead mics used for ?
lol zoomh2n is very expensive (like 433 dollars) in Argentina right now :( any other option for recording drums?
Thank so much. I will be posting videos of me flying aerobatics with my go pro and audio from cockpit with this new mic. Keep up the great job.
Any day now, I’ll be purchasing the bundle from Sweetwater music. Thanks for making that package happen!
Very good info from you. I want to record bass covers so I was thinking about using that zoom mic too. Do you think it would work just as good for bass covers? Also how do you iSync the mic up to my camera
Hey cooper where you buy like the stands like to hold your go pro and a stand to use the zoomin mic?
Another little tip and trick, is to put the microphone above the drummers head, central, then it picks up the whole drum kit, ive recorded a few tracks, like this, and even at gigs, this is a good way to pick up the whole kit!
I use my Macbook Pro to record but the sound still overrides the mic. Even when I have lowered the mic sensitivity.
With an electric kit i think you just run a lead to your recording software like garage band but you cant change every drum unless you have a mixer i think
Hey. I was just wondering how you put the audio recorded into the video taken. Any specific software? Thanks
If I'm doing a cover,do we have to have permission from the person that made that song
hey man, what size china do you use on your left hand side?
Hey Cooper, how do you get past all that copyright bs that RUclips pulls when your playing drums with a song in the background? can you still monetize your stuff?
Well, youtube knows that it's a cover, and so it wont strike you. You just need to notify the owner of the song from your channel editor thing.
Hey, what stand did you use to mount your mic?
I used to use a rockband mic as well! worked really well! I've got mics now, but using the rockband mic is way better than camera audio :P
Can you put a video showing how to do drum covers using a electronic drum kit, or tell me how to input both the drum sounds and the song in which I want to cover?
