I tried to do the Yamaha ead10 route. Didn’t work for me at all. I’m about to embark on micing my drums and recording like this for the first time. This video will help a lot. Thanks!
Thank You for the good and informative video🙏🔥 It would be great if you could show us a low budget version (especially less equipment, i.e. which instrument needs definitely a microphone). For sure the sound quality will decline but it would be better than nothing🙏
In my opinion that is pretty much the lowest you can go to record drums with mics, you can check out some 8 inputs audio interfaces, the focusrites are user friendly and quite cheap and really reliable, If you’re on pc, reaper is « free » which is the equivalent of garage band. I personnally use a a vintage analog mixer, the tascam m-50 that goes into a roland octa capture audio interface that simply digitalise the signal for reaper.
Hey man great video and great content if I can give you one tip there’s a lot of stuff you missed that you could of talked about to make the drums sound even better when miking a drum kit Like with the overheads makes sure there at the same level cause if your overhead mics are not at the same level then your drum recording is gonna sound out of phase The other thing talk about how far or close your mic should be to the kick drum Same with your snare mic and Tom mics You did a great job on the video there’s just a few importing things you should say and cover in the video to mic a drum kit But you did a great job and keep up the great work I’m a audio engineer and a music producer so I know all about this stuff And I also run a RUclips channel where I teach mixing and recording music But keep up the good work your doing great
Bro you are the coolest guy I’m going to get all the things you said Im this incredible vid. Im a kid trying to post drum videos🙂🙂 and I really appreciate you man ❤ your awesome 😎
Awesome! Buut, the snare mic takes all the sounds for kick, toms, cymbal, once i muted it, it sound great! The ambience mics are useless and they're on max volume.
Extremely complex stuff, but you made it understandable with all the steps and great explanation. I’m a beginner, saving this, it would be very useful in the feature! 🤘🏻✌🏻🫡😎
For the e-drums you can get the sound via an amplifier or you can just connect it to your computer and use a software like Ableton or Studio 1 and record and adjust the sounds from there, but Alejandro can explain much much better. I am not experienced enough.
Actually we will connect the MALE end of the cable to the microphone. Just sayin' . Why not lay the Kick mic onto a cushion or two facing toward the drummer ? The way that you show it in your video looks to be a recipe for rattling noise as the stand vibrates from kick drum usage. Also why place the ambient mics so close to the drum set. It would seem that those would be placed as the drummer is playing drums in order to get a satisfactory sound for recording. That being written - I did notice a much better sound in your sample two test recording. Lastly you did an excellent job of describing step by step how to set up for recording using Garage Band. Great video Sir. .
So I had a question I don't have a interface I use a 8 track tascam could I still connect 8 mics like I could to the interface or is that process different?
Thank you so much for the support! 🎉

When you are an absolute newbie, it helps a lot to have a true step by step tutorial. Thank you!
Excellent video. You explained everything so well without "over talking". This is how a video should be made. Kudos!😊
OH MY GOD YES, ALEJANDRO, YOU MAKE ME HAPPY 🔥🥁🥁
Corrención: el cable que conectaste no es USB type C, es USB type B. Sigue con el buen trabajo!! Un saludo d sde Portugal.
Love from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰💖
Really nice video!! Perfectly explained and easy to understand!!!
This is cool! I might do this when I get an acoustic kit!
I thought this was for a beginner, This is expert level man
I tried to do the Yamaha ead10 route. Didn’t work for me at all. I’m about to embark on micing my drums and recording like this for the first time. This video will help a lot. Thanks!
The only problem is, all the karens and angry neighbors might get in the way when you're trying to record.
Buy a 1 hectare lot and build a house there with No neighbor hahaahah
Awesome vid! super easy to understand.... thanks Alejandrooooo!
Your mics are good
Thank you so much man!
Very useful video man, I was looking for it, I didn't know about it, thank you, greetings from Colombia .

Desde Perú🇵🇪
Omg thank you so much now I just need to get a but load of money to do it
Hey man great video and great content if I can give you one tip there’s a lot of stuff you missed that you could of talked about to make the drums sound even better when miking a drum kit
Like with the overheads makes sure there at the same level cause if your overhead mics are not at the same level then your drum recording is gonna sound out of phase
The other thing talk about how far or close your mic should be to the kick drum
Same with your snare mic and Tom mics
You did a great job on the video there’s just a few importing things you should say and cover in the video to mic a drum kit
But you did a great job and keep up the great work
I’m a audio engineer and a music producer so I know all about this stuff
And I also run a RUclips channel where I teach mixing and recording music
But keep up the good work your doing great
Thank you soooooo much. It’s exactly what I searched for🎉🎉

I just got a Catalina Club and would like to start recording it
Nice demo! From New Zealand.
I love it when you do the Maneskin pose
I've never seen you play the kick drum with sandals before, except in your All I Want For Christmas drum cover video.
I can’t play it with sandals, I always put on sneakers 👟👟
Dude, I love your new hair style bro.
Thanks, lad!!
I also use an audio software, similar to the one you're using, but for my after school theater class.
Hello from bali indonesia alejandro.great tutorial....
This is the best explanation video I’ve ever seen!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Alejandro I like your videos so much if it was possible can you send me the e kit for a video in Kenya
Bro you are the coolest guy I’m going to get all the things you said Im this incredible vid. Im a kid trying to post drum videos🙂🙂 and I really appreciate you man ❤ your awesome 😎
Very informative! Thank you! 😊
This was very helpful👍
Awesome. My next purchase - drum mics and a mixer.
Im 10 years old and i want to be a good drummer.
I think this is a great video to learn how to record.
But a interface is very expensive.
Do you know how i can record with not a lot of money?
Buy a $10 Pyle mic and a XLR to USB cable. It's what I used many years ago.
My friend Alejandro Sifuentes i am Anderson
Thank you I GOT the alesis kit
thank you my frıend!!! perfect content!!! its very helpfull
Thank you for sharing 🙏
Hello from Armenia 🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲
Armenia rules!
I live there too
You are amazing bro. Thanks a lot
i was waiting for this video
Hey when is THOMANN coming to Asia bro
Awesome video…but what about the music?
If I want to play a cover of a song how I record the song with the drums I play together?
Just upload the audio file of the song to the GarageBand project. When you hit record to record the drum mics, the song with play at the same time
Awesome 😎
RAUL 🎤🥁🎤🥁
Great video you saved me a lot of time very helpful video thanks mate
950 dollars for his mic setup (not including stands), i should have picked some cheaper hobbie 😅
Awesome! Buut, the snare mic takes all the sounds for kick, toms, cymbal, once i muted it, it sound great! The ambience mics are useless and they're on max volume.
Alejandro ya tengo mi propia batería
Does the USB record separate tracks? Usually, it doesn't, or does it have to be a specific interface? If so...what? 😂 i have no idea
Hi, I'm a very beginner. Your video is hope for me.😃 Can you tell me how to use this method at a live performance?
Thank you my friend :-)
Can you explain the difference between 8 channel interface vs 8 channel mixer?
Dudeee, thank you so very much for this Video….!
Thanks Brotha!🙏🏽
Extremely complex stuff, but you made it understandable with all the steps and great explanation. I’m a beginner, saving this, it would be very useful in the feature! 🤘🏻✌🏻🫡😎
You are the Best. Jesus bless you.
Pls do a video how to add a cover music after you made that setup..
How to make a cover music video.
So helpful thanks 😊
You should listen to the video at 1.25 speed, it sounds so much better
Why should we follow the order to plug in the xlr in to interface
We are amazing at giving you support, but you are the best with drums bro.
What do you have to do to actually play music through the ear phones at the same time you’re playing?
Hi, What will be the result if I use my Yamaha MG16X Audio mixer instead on the interface ?
Hello you should do one for the electric ones!!
For the e-drums you can get the sound via an amplifier or you can just connect it to your computer and use a software like Ableton or Studio 1 and record and adjust the sounds from there, but Alejandro can explain much much better. I am not experienced enough.
Hey next please give an idea for how in mobile phones to extract and edit audios from youtube vedios??
Thank you soo mach from this beautifully vedio
can u drop the link for all this equipment?
Do the number of mics have to equal the number of drums we have
So easy!
I'm assuming you use premier pro to edit your videos, right?
Thank You!
Thank You! :)
Does the order in which you plug the mics in matter?
I have a question. What other laptops and software will work because macs are very expensive
That ain't type C, but type A you have connected to the PC. However Specific USB Type C will also work if you have one.
That's hot!
Are there any other good free audio software ? I do not have an Apple computer but a PC.
Can I play music and play over it too?
Oh mi amigo Alejandro Sifuentes esta es mi Cuenta de RUclips
Could i use garageband to play live instead of using it to record?
Thanks
Can I use static Microphone to REC ambien-1 and 2?
If i use an adapter that turns usb c into Lightning can i use an iPad instead of an Mac?
play zapeado from Mexico

.
❤️
do you exactly need that audio interface or can it be any?
So I had a question I don't have a interface I use a 8 track tascam could I still connect 8 mics like I could to the interface or is that process different?
Do for electronic drums plz
how do you listen to backing track while recording?
How can you tell if the microphone is lined up with the drum head.
If i want to record my drums, as i play a song in youtube, how can i do it, having my inears connected to the interface?
👏👏🤘👍
What made you come up with the idea to sell your drum equipment?
