- Join me on my flight from Sydney to Hong Kong.
It was an early morning drive to the airport, which was extremely busy.
Once checked in, through Immigration and Security it was time to grab the usual breakfast from the Qantas First Lounge (access via OneWorld Emerald Status).
The Qantas A330-300 used for this flight (QF127) was VH-QPG.
Departure was on time, and after take off, some great views of Sydney and the Blue Mountains were afforded.
The first meal was Kung Pao Chicken with Fried Rice, Choy Sum & Cashews which as always when on offer, is very tasty.
Plenty of snacks and drinks were offered throughout the flight.
For the 2nd meal service I opted for the Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli with Italian Sugo & Roast Vegetables over the Beef dish... and it was great.
Arrival into Hong Kong was early, which is always a bonus.
The service provided by all the crew, especially Kerry (Manager) and Amanda (Supervisor) was excellent. The staff is what makes @Qantas great, and I don't say this lightly.

Qantas do take off really well
Yes they do...
Nice optics of Sydney outskirts after take off. We did a red eye flight from Perth last year “February”on Qantas. Despite some poor reviews by a few vlogers we found the trip was very good. We sat at the last row with two seats only. Comfortable, crew was attentive even though it was the red eye flight. Even got a little shut eye.
Thank you... Sleep, especially on a Red-Eye is always a bonus.
I might sound like a broken record, but for the most part the service on Qantas flights is excellent. Sure some of the A330's are getting a little tired, but every airline in the world is screaming out for new aircraft, and with all the delays they are slowly being delivered. I am very much looking forward to when the A35X's arrive, along with the A388, the A359 & A35X are amazing aircraft to fly in.

Qantas vs Cathay Pacific, which is better for flights to Hong Kong?
Cathay Pacific have more flights, so if you want some flexibility with flight times that may be a better option. Also, if you are a frequent flyer member of either that may be a factor, otherwise, heads or tails... Both are good options.
Qantas a330 so uncomfortable IMO
I prefer the A380, but the A330 is not too bad, a lot better than the B737 which they use for some international flights, such as to New Zealand.
