What fun! I too LOVED that edgy flying ...with NO options of an emergency landing ...until my(179 hour ..properly maintained 914 engine failed!) ...luckily on TO roll ....thus "no-event " abort! When one loses the innocence of the REALITY vs remote possibility of engine-failure is possible anywhere/anytime ANY engine ......the fear factor dominates the fun-factor! ENJOY ...your calculated risks!
The good news is that in a gyro, if you're skilled, you can do a zero-roll landing, which means an engine out at any point on that flight would have resulted in, at worst, a damaged airframe, if he set it down in the water.
Years ago (Many) i too flew down uninhabited rivers. Great fun! Now, I wouldn’t fly a fixed wing without BRS and sufficient altitude to safely employ the chute. Maybe a gyro if the rotor stays on it would be OK. 😉
Yup...it's all fun & games until the Rotax decides to take a break! As a Gyro Instructor, I always strongly recommend to "have an option" when flying. Nonetheless, beautiful footage.
I will be flying out of Woodland in an Air Command in about two weeks. Wrapping up some parts for sky-wheels. I’ll be flying in Petaluma Thursday, then when I finish up the testing and run ups, I’ll be at Watts/WDLD.
I really enjoyed your flight! Flying really makes me feel free and gives me time to wonder at God’s creation. It’s been almost 18 years since I last flew a helicopter but if I ever fly again the autogyro will be a serious consideration. Thanks for great video!
I carry speed through the canyon to give some altitude if something happens. There are a lot of PPC folks flying out of KLHM nearby...normally sunrise/sunset timeframe when the winds are really calm. Luckily Gyros can fly in decent wind conditions.
Very nice RF
Amazing flight!!! Looks like some great swimming spots along that river. This is really great footage
Your right that is one dangerous flight the sights were beautiful thou

Looks like a lot of fun!
Every gyro flight is fun!

Just fabulous - that's what gyro flying is all about!
Amazing little machine .
That was fun! Thanks 👍
Whoa! That is really exciting. Love the sound of that turbo Rotax, too!
Gorgeous scenery... Fantastic flying...
Thanks for the ride. That’s a exciting route. Your rotor tips cut some small tree branches 😅
No trees were harmed during the filming of this flight!

Incredible! New subscriber here -- I'm in the Sacramento area as well. :)
WOW. THAT LOOKED GOOD. If i drop by your place could you take me on the same run please??
Amazing.
Beautiful place. Shouldn't be spoiled by a giant bee.
Ne uçuş ama. What a fhligt
looks fun!
And what river is this one? Looks pretty wild, and in unpopulated.
Far west reservoir CA
Wow.
Nice Flight. Not much for outs in that canyon. Watch out for the poor PPC guys who cant afford your Gyro Flying near the lake and back side of Beale.

Can I ask where you did you gyro flight training ?
I trained in Northern California with an instructor who is no longer doing gyro training. insurance costs have made it difficult to teach Gyro.
It’s a dream of mine to do this one day. Just need more money. 🙄
