I never met Kit, but know the plane from so long ago when it shared a hangar at UC Davis with a friend of mine. It is an absolute work of art. I'm very pleased to see it wound up in good hands. Thanks for sharing this video.
My wife was in love with this beautiful bird and used to tease Kit about selling it to her. It still looks fantastic, just like we remember it. Two votes for a chat with Kit.
I remember this airplane being in Kitplanes. Glad to see it still looks awesome. I was a Kitplanes subscriber for 30+ years and I think the articles about this airplane are some of the most memorable.
I am fortunate enough to fly along side Kit in our 1946 Luscombe 8as out of University airport, Davis, CA. We modestly call ourselves the Davis Luscombe club. 2 airplanes, 4 people and 4 hats. Kit is a meticulous builder, mechanic and excellent pilot and friend! I do hope he’ll be on RUclips soon.
An interview with Kit would be good. Got my A&P at sac city 86-88 and had Kit as an instructor. I'll have to dig out the list of classmates as that was a hella long time ago. ✌️
+1 on the interview with Kit-my friend was in the program and learned from him, I recall my friend telling me about the mustang that he built and how perfect it was
What a find, as a boy growing up in San Antonio and visiting stinson field on my bicycle, I remember a hanger with 3 of these kit planes being built. I talked with the guy that was building them on several occasions, definitely my favorite. Fred French
This MM1 has always been my favorite. I remember the article in Sport Aviation shortly after it was built. It is absolutely beautiful! I would love to hear more about it's construction from Mr. Sodergren.

Please do an interview with the builder. That would be great!
I hope we can make that happen. Thanks for the comment.

Nice video Chris. Both of those planes had very interesting stories, well told and filmed. Yes please on another video with the builder. 👍✈️
That's one cool little plane
How cool would it be if you could fly with the cockpit open, like you can with an Ercoupe?

It has obviously been lovingly cared for!

I hope so too! I look forward to meeting him.

I would also, really enjoy a video with the builder! Great video on the Mustang.
We are going to try to make that happen.
That would be so amazing! I am huge fan of "Survivor" homebuilt aircraft.@@SilvaAdventures
Ive been building a midget for about 5 years. If it turms out 50% as clean as this one ill be happy!
Fantastic sounding aircraft. Very capable
Beautiful aircraft ! The interview would be very interesting 👍
I'm 60 seconds in and I already sub'd!
Great looking aircraft!
Great video!
Bravo.perfect. go ahead
Nice plane.
Happy Easter 🐣 that is a sleek leading edge on the wings, hence the increase in KIAS?
🛩️
Tailwind!
Ok, difficult to fly. Needs tons of runway and higher skills. Nice video, wonderful airplane!
Definitely not for a novice…and a lot of tailwheel time is important!
Just put a Rotax 916 on it and will be incredible!
600 lbs empty or gross? That’s gorgeous!!
Empty weight.
I want a RC replica!!!!! @Horizon Hobby are you listening lol
Almost 39mpg! lol
Promo'SM 🤣
Doesn’t look like a Mustang
Not exactly, but similar enough to be called a midget mustang. The wings and tail shapes are similar and the canopy looks like a "C" model P-51
