  • I show you how to make a swage connection for wire balustrade fittings.
The wire balustrades are used on stair cases and balconies. Watch my other video on how to install a curtain blind on how to install the balustrade.
    The fittings used are:
Stainless steel wire rope 3.2mm 7x7 marine grade 316
Nickle plated copper sage for 3.0mm - 3.2mm wire rope
Wire rope thimble 3mm 316 Stainless Steel
You will also need a swage crimping tool. I was lucky that a friend of mine had one, which I borrowed.
All material was purchased from a specialist balustrade supplier
Better Hardware 14A Levenswell Rd Moorabbin Vic Australia
    They do online ordering betterhardware.com.au
Tim from the sales team was fantastic.

Going to make swaged cable ends for the first time and of all the videos available, yours is one of the best. Cheers, mate.

The end of the cable should be at least 2x the cable diameter past the sleeve to meet the safe load rating. When you bury the end inside the sleeve, you are not swaging to the cable completely. It will dramatically reduce the capacity of the cable.
