    Super impressed with Andrew’s tactics & bluffing, and Ted’s ability to read the other players.

    Surely the final day play is for Cody, after being pressured by everyone to nominate matt is to nominate himself. The entire town would then panic and bet on him attempting to jump on the grenade for his demon, forcing Ev to nominate Matt. A vote which would likely pass and get more votes.
    It's clear that they knew they were both evil and were trying to work out who the demon was so leaving them pressured, short on time and worrying that they've just been out-played is the fastest way to get them voting for Matt rather than Cody.

    Even without the UT information, having a recluse in play AND having the 4 evil and a recluse lining up five in a row is so incredibly unlikely that it all but proves that the chef is drunk.
    Also, suspecting the player who just got monk confirmed by not dying is a weird notion. They wouldnt have to starpass.
    Then the slayer clears her ...

    Wow after all that, all Cody had to do was just nominate Matt and they would have won! He had half the people willing to vote with him!! 😫🤦🏻‍♂️ How do you just sit there, say nothing almost the entire game and then not even do the one thing that would help you win?! God my head hurts

      Hey Jon, thanks for the question. We won't be uploading every game that gets live-streamed, just the ones that we think stand out for one reason or another. We're hoping to attain Twitch partnership at some point in the future, which means the streams there would stay up for much longer after their original broadcast, rather than the ~2 weeks that they currently remain for.

    Do groups of three count as two pairs to the chef? Unless I’m missing something I think that’s the only way there could be four pairs

    • @BloodontheClocktower
      @BloodontheClocktower  3 года назад +1

      That's correct - each pair of individual evil players counts as a 'pair' to the Chef. One Evil player can be a part of multiple pairs if the Evil players are sitting in a row. This means that three evil players in a row count as two pairs, four in a row counts as three pairs, etc.

    • @BloodontheClocktower
      @BloodontheClocktower  3 года назад

      Yep, the only way for a Chef to get a '4' in Trouble Brewing is for them to be getting misinformation or for the Recluse to be involved in the chain somehow (which is also a form of misinformation, though less deleterious than drunk/poisoned info).

    Great playthrough.
    I have a couple questions for experienced Storytellers.
    I'm curious if any Storyteller has given information to a Washerwoman about who is the Virgin?
    I'm also curious about the illegal Butler vote? The ruling in this game just lets the Butler vote. The opposite ruling lets the Butler confirm themselves. Is there a way to fix this? Are there any other characters that have similar issues?
    Also, someone can double check the math, but I think the 4 pairs info being true has about a 1 in 1.4 billion chance of being true.

    • @BloodontheClocktower
      @BloodontheClocktower  3 года назад +4

      Hey thanks for the questions.
      Storytellers can choose any Townsfolk to tell the Washerwoman about. The Virgin is typically a less common choice given that they're one of the few characters who can publicly confirm themselves, but some Storytellers will still do it from time to time. In a game where the Virgin gets nominated by an Outsider or an evil player, having a Washerwoman backing them up can still provide the town with some fantastic information about the potential identity of the nominator.
      For the Butler voting illegally, the Storyteller should count the vote anyway. Mistakes happen, and it's better to just let the vote go through than it is to confirm the identity of the Butler player. It's up to the Butler player to make sure they follow the rules of when they can and can't vote, the same way it's up to all players to make sure they follow other rules, like when they can and can't have their eyes open. The odd Butler mistake will happen, but players doing it consistently is considered, like, cheating.
      As for the maths, I'm not maths expert but I had a crack at figuring it out myself. For the Chef to get a 'four', and assuming a game with no Travellers, you'd need all four Evil players and a Recluse all sitting in a row. For a 15-player game, starting with the first Evil player drawn from the bag, the odds of the player to their left getting the next Evil role or the Recluse are 4/14, then the odds of the next player getting one of these roles is 3/13, then 2/12, then 1/11. Multiplying these odds together, I reckon this would happen 1/1001 games (or about 0.1% of the time). For a 14 player game these odds drop to 1/715 and then 1/495 for a 13-player game. (Of course, this is assuming that the Recluse is going to be in the game. The odds get longer if you want to factor in how many games a Recluse will be in in a random draw.) If there are any Mathematicians in the channel who want to have a crack at this, please jump in!

      @@BloodontheClocktower Thanks, for the response. I do know my Math is wrong as I realized I didn't take into account the other players. My new result is 1/3003.

    • @sebastianjohnen9654
      @sebastianjohnen9654 3 года назад +1

      @atigersgrin I think the math needs to be modified by the fact that there is a Storyteller. Many Storytellers are more likely to make choices that modify the odds to the less likely outcomes. There are many reasons for this, like adding a layer of doubt to information they give out, reacting to players meta gaming or having played the same base set so often that anything not done before will appeal to them. I think taking away the ability to rely on probability and common sense is part of increasing the paranoia and tension, which leads to a more ... lets say intense experience. Both for the palyers who are masochists that love hating being under such stress and the sadists who love how they can use this to torture other players by making insane plays that break common sense.
      I think for good Storytellers the answer toa Players question "would they do this?" is always "yes, very possibly but maybe ..." followed by various exclamation of distress, grunting and/or noises of teeth grinding on behalf of the players, as they try to figure out what is going on.

    • @atigersgrin
      @atigersgrin 3 года назад +1

      @@sebastianjohnen9654 The Storyteller doesn't effect the math unless they are choosing the players roles instead of by random.
      I understand the Storyteller purposely giving very unlikely information to help a team that needs it. I found it interesting that the players seemed to trust information that was so unlikely.
      I actually don't know if I would ever play the game, because I see the Storyteller influence so much. But I enjoy watching others play and being the Storyteller.

    • @sebastianjohnen9654
      @sebastianjohnen9654 3 года назад

      @@atigersgrin Yes, I was assuming that the Storyteller choose at least some of the stuff that happens.
      Not just to help a team that needs it, but also to make the Game more entertaining. I personally believe that most players of such social deduction games are masochists who like the stress and sadists who like to see the world burn.

      We use the Roll20 website to run the games on our live-streams. Obviously, nothing beats playing in person, but Roll20 has an awesome feature which provides a hidden 'GM Layer' that is only visible to the person running the game. it also lets you add audio to the game, for that extra bit of spooky atmosphere!
