@@momoonocollects I have 117 graded books. Mostly in a cgc 9.8. Stuff like ASM 300, Batman Adventures 12, Batman #423. I'd be alright putting it all in a trade. My ultimate goal is a good copy of either X-Men #1, Showcase #22, Four Color #9, Four Color #4, or Journey into Mystery #83
@@Paulies-Hideout Those are great books, especially in 9.8 🤩 I can't believe those are the books you're considering, those are all on my list too! 🤣
1) If you've got the money.
2) You're happy with it.
3) You preserve it, since everyone who has owned it since it was printed has been, in effect, a curator of an artifact of our culture.
4) It was worth it.

awesome book! congrats! I paid 10K or more twice. One was for Wonder Woman # 1 CGC 7.5 about 20 years ago and Fantastic Four # 1 PGX 6.5 signed by Stan Lee certified signature.

My grail was Action 252. First Supergirl. I also gave Superman 123 where they tested the waters before introducing her. Both in presentable 2.5’s. I have reprints and omni’s to read. But these are what I could afford and in decent looking conditions. Also working on probably the most complete SG collection in existence using low grade readers.
That's awesome! Action Comics 252 is on my radar, great book. That's a great strategy, targeting lower grade readers means your dollar stretches so much further

Great haul and great books. Most I've spent on a book is or was graphic fantasy 1 $1000. I'd like to get WW6 and other ASM keys.

Nice, wow those colors are popin, big fan of the golden age, but often the colors are so washed out , just makes me a little sad inside; the old fading away into history never to return (the vibrant colors that is) great buy. Yep, 4.5 right there in that sweet spot, worth the money. -Cheers

I was scrolling through ebay and saw Back to the Future #1 cgc 9.9 SS signed by the cast and producer. Seller wanted 2200. I messaged him and said look, thats too much, ive got 1100 ill give you right now i need this in my collection what do you say? Offer was accepted. One of my faves.

What do you do for a job where you can afford all these sick fuckin books?!
I was actually in sales most of my career making really good but not ridiculous money. Most of it was spending a lot less than I earned and investing the rest. Really paid off for me
That's just my experience though. I always recommend sales even though I kinda hated it from purely a financial standpoint because you get paid for your performance, not your time. And the better you perform, the more you get paid

If you must know, I spent most of my career in sales, which I recommend because instead of trading time for money, you're trading performance. And I performed well enough that I earned quite a lot
After that it was a matter of spending a lot less than I earned and investing the rest, and I happened to make very good investments. I also ventured into digital asset lending for a time, which was fairly lucrative
