Great video finally found one with the same interior as mine! One question I have though is can I just put a similar ssd straight into the open/empty ssd slot? Just to have more storage or do I need to clone?

Since there is a second slot for an SSD, why would you clone the old drive to the new one?
Is the speed advantage significant to run the OS ?

Hey Mr Dale! I would just like a question answered that's been on my mind a while! If you wanted to upgrade your SSD would you also have to change the ram for it or is it optional?
You don't. He did both because he wanted to max out the ram and ssd.
I also wanted to ask what model do you have? Base, advanced, and what year?

I have the blade 15 with a 970EVO plus 1tb and then bought a 2TB Adata nvme drive, what cloning software should I use? This is a lifesaver I've been sitting on the upgrade for 2 months because I don't want the hassle of reformatting 😅

@@CadillacComputerCenter Do you need the external usb m.2 device that you used in this video to clone or can you install the new m.2 SSD and clone it with both drives installed internally? Say I purchase a 1TB Samsung 980, can I open the blade, take the proprietary m..2 and switch to it the D drive (Sata/m.2) nnd then install the samsung in the C drive slot and then do the clone? I assume you did the clone and transfered the existing data to the new drive because it runs faster than the original proprietary drive? Thanks, great video!

I have the same laptop but have been trying to install an XPG GAMMIX S7 that ive cloned for over 2 weeks now. I’ve tried macrium, partition wizard and the program u used but the only one that wasn’t asking for money was the macrium program. But even after cloning, I get the BSOD. the new drive isn’t being recognized by the computer.
What am I missing?
Hit Windows Start button type Disk Management then highlight the new drive right click select simple volume

There are many choices these days , Easeus, AOMEI. and others. You will to create a free eaccout.

Great Video, however, i am unable to clone my (RZ09-03519E11-R3U1) RB15 Base 2020 model 256gb ssd to Kingston KC2500 1TB M.2 NVMe (Type 2280). I used your method utilizing Macrium Reflect first and then Acronis True Image. Both softwares failed, as i got Error 0x1480006 during start/boot. I think i followed the exact method as per this video but no joy. RAM upgrade to 32gb went well. Anything i should do differently to clone SSD ? Thanks
I hope you worked it out. You need software specific to the make of the SSD. I am using Smasung data migration tool for a Samsung drive.

Yes. U can just add it. But then after add hit start, type disk Management, highlight new drive, right click, Simple Volume
Is ram xmp sorted after upgrading?
Bios has no xmp. This is base edition, only advanced edition supports xmp
What if I don't have the adapter for the ssd to clone? Can I just add the new ssd to the 2nd slot without having to clone the 1st drive? I got the evo 970 plus 2tb card and I as soon as my razer comes in I wanted to upgrade the storage.
And than say, maybe transfer the OS to the new ssd afterwards?

Hi. Yes. I believe you can. Just one of your m.2 slots should be marked as a combo slot, both nvme and sata..I will be marked near the slot on mainboard.
