I generally use tags from clothes :) because so lot of them are really pretty :3 xx
Kerry Peterson That's a really good idea :) I've kept some tags that are really pretty but they're just in a little drawer and I've never thought to use them are bookmarks

Yes I'm the same, I have a huge collection of bookmarks and I usually pick one that fits the theme of the book.
I cut paint samples in half and use those as bookmarks. They are so cute!

I've been using bookmarks more often now because I've also been collecting a few. My sister made me some wonderful personalized ones that are my go-to. Other than that, though, it's usually random pieces of paper.

I used to just use little scraps of paper that I would rip off, but lately I've really been into bookmarks. I bought a few magnetic ones off of Etsy, which are totally adorable, and I will have to order a ton more, of only because In love them but also because I am always reading a crap ton of different books at one time.
Mostly, however, I use ones from my Harry Potter calendar. For 2014, I had a Harry Potter daily calendar, and every day displayed a different still from the movies with various characters.
I loved the ones designed by Book Outlet customers! I use one that my daughter colored. I cut out a piece of heavy cardstock to the size I wanted and she drew a picture and wrote a note on it for me. I love it! I'd love to have a little mug of bookmarks on my bookshelf. I may start collecting some!
I want to put all my bookmarks together like you have yours. Mine are spread out over my shelves and are in different books too. My favorite types of bookmarks are the ones that have a tassel at the end. They just look so pretty! You've got some great ones...thanks for sharing with us!
My favorite bookmark is one that my mom cross-stitched for me and says Once Upon A Time and it's so cute and I love it!! ❤️❤️❤️

omg ever sense my mother bought me my first magnetic bookmark I have been hooked and it all I use now. I even made my own. I turned my regular carboard into magnetic. It just makes so much more sense. when I travel my regular cardboard would fall out of my book and I would loose my page. so thank you to whoever invented magnetic bookmarks. as for your collection the art is beautiful! the owl magnetic bookmarks are my fav that you showed us.
My current favorite bookmark that I've been using lately is the "Exploding TARDIS" bookmark. I use bookmarks until they wear out for the most part, too, or until I decide to switch it up. I have a stack of bookmarks I've acquired from book swag, and I'll also buy bookmarks at the bookstore on occasion if I see one I just have to have.

I love Craftedvan bookmarks. I have one of the house with balloons from the movie Up. I also have a French set that has the Eiffel Tower and a such. Then I have a Tea Cup and Ball of yarn with a crochet hook in it. I also have several paper bookmarks that I have picked up at my local library. I generally get one each visit.
I too collect bookmarks...I have and love the metal one with the quote by Les Brown, the one with the dangles on it. I also have a fold-over magnetic one that is very lovely, but is beginning to show its' age, so I tucked it away in my new favorite things journal
There's this adorable reading lamp bookmark that I want I get. It's so cute and quirky.
I love using old ticket stubs, train tickets, old boarding passes etc for my bookmarks. I like carrying around my memories with me while I read :)
I used to always dog-ear pages but since I started buying books from book depository I almost always use the bookmarks I get from there instead. And I just bought some bookmarks from craftedvan, I'm so excited for them to arrive!

The thought of paying for bookmarks hasn't really crossed my mind, so until I started buying books from The Book Depository I just used receipts and other scraps of paper. I love the Book Depository bookmarks though, the ones designed by their customers are gorgeous! My favourite is the "There is something incomparably thrilling in first opening a brand new book" one, although I recently gave my second favourite to my mum because she told me I have such pretty bookmarks and complained that she had none.
I have a few bookmarks, mostly paper, but three of my favorites are one shaped by a surfboard (sent by family friends when they lived in Hawaii), a metal one with an Emerson quote ("Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you."), and a paper one I got at the renaissance festival that has "Hufflepuff" written on it in calligraphy.
I adore your collection! I am so jealous! Often I’ll start using bookmarks and then my kids will take them on me... but my favourite one is a knitted Ravenclaw scarf that a friend made that I’m in love with. I use it the most (even tho my children want to use it as a scarf for their toys).
Best collection ever! My bookmark collection is very anime/LoTR related and very small! I still need to get those amazing magnetic ones too from etsy. The one thing I collect really is movie/stage play/concert/aquarium tickets.
I actually use photos sometimes haha! I only have about 4 book marks! My favourite of which is red and it says eat sleep read on it. I love the Harry Potter liquid luck one! So cute! 😍
My daughter has managed to take all of my bookmarks. So, now I just use whatever is handy. I miss my bookmarks, though. You have some gorgeous ones! I would love to have all of the Harry Potter ones.

I use the train station paid parking ticket. It's a piece of plastic of the size of a credit card and it makes the job done.

I have some bookmarks but I've stopped using them because I kept managing to have them fall out of my book and then I lose my page!! I love the idea of magnetic book marks though I'll have to check those out :) I usually use sticky notes as bookmarks. I buy the small post it notes (I think post it calls them 'flags') because they are small and you can get them in lots of colours but you can also get ones that the colour is only at the end and the rest is clear so if its on any of the words you can still see through it! They worked amazingly when I had english because I could colour code everything and mark things as I read (Ex blue for setting, pink for character, yellow for theme ect) they helped me stay super organized and then when I was looking back for quotes I didn't have to go on a huge expedition to find them!

Wow, I believe this beats my collection. I probably have more than I think, cause I keep losing them. This doubles as an excuse to make/buy more. I may or may not be addicted. I make a bookmark for every new series I start. My favorite bookmark is one I made last year.its spaced themed, with Earth in the background, a Saturn V in the foreground, and a howling wolf/crescent moon silhouette above the rocket. Might not be able to tell, but I'm a space geek, so that tends to influence the bookmarks I get.

I love the art on those fantasy bookmarks! So pretty. I'm terrible at using bookmarks though... I don't really know why. Even though I own a few of them, I always end up using tags from teabags, gum wrappers, receipts, price tags, or I'll rip off a little piece of newspaper.
I HAVE THE LES BROWN ONE! I have the metal one you have and I have it in paper form too! It is my fave quote.

I collect the Book Depository bookmarks, especially when they do the yearly release of customer-designed ones. I also keep the spare ones as well.

I have quite a few bookmarks myself but not as many as you. :D My favourites are definitely the magnetic bookmarks, most often I use one with butterflies on it that my grandma gave to me years ago.
I really liked the Owl bookmarks, the felix felices book mark and the fantasy bookmarks. My friend gave me Matt Smith and David Tennant bookmarks and a Castiel and Dean, Sam and Castiel bookmark as well which I use a lot these days. I also have 3 Harry Potter bookmarks that I have used many times in the past

I recently picked up some magnetic bookmarks that are mini chip bags, pickles, and sandwiches. :) Absolutely adorable!
This has given me the best idea, because I'm going to Europe and I want to collect something from each place I go but I can't get anything too big or heavy because I'm backpacking but bookmarks are perfect, and now I really want a mug full of pretty bookmarks :D

You have some really interesting ones! My faves were the Harry Potter bottle of luck and the ones you got from craftedvan. I usually use bookmarks that have a holographic image that changes when you move it. They are so cool! I also make bookmarks out of card stock with different patterns. It's really cheap and pretty :)

For a while back in the 80's (I think) Doctor Who Magazine would feature a free bookmark in each issue, so those have to be my favorites.

my favorite bookmarks are the magnetic ones. I used to have SOOO many other ones! but I think they all kind of got ruined since they were just the paper ones. I will use ANYTHING as a bookmark if I don't have one handy though haha
I use a book mark I made myself but it is looking pretty used so will have to make another one - you can see it on one of the 1st videos I did for my channel. I will be making myself a new book mark soon and plan to do an owl one as I love owls.
Really liked the magnetic owl book marks and the magnetic harry potter ones. I also liked the ones from where you had been that showed some scenes - that is a good idea to buy a book mark from each place you video, will have to remember that.

I love your Dragon bookmark and Minion bookmark! I got a sword bookmark (The same style as your dragon one) for a friend and so wished I had one for myself!
I use two book marks when I read and its always the same two. I use a Pikachu card stock cut out and a Yugio card I thought was absolutely adorable. They've both gotten extremely worn, but I can't bring myself to stop using them. I think I've been using them for three or four years now.
There is a bookmark attached to one of the graduation cards I received this year and it is so precious :') I also like my Yale bookmarks. I also use a "Reading is Sexy" bumpersticker because I don't have a car, but it was just too rad to pass us! I love your Harry Potter ones, SO PRESH
Almost all of mine are from my favorite independent bookstore in Massachusetts--The Brookline Booksmith! Mostly just because they put one in each book that you buy. Nothing terribly special about them but it's just a really great store and I've bought tons of books from them. :)

My favorite bookmark I own is one that says "KEEP CALM AND HAVE A CUPCAKE"
I use a lot of paint chips from my work (I work at Lowes, a hardware store!) I find them a lot in the break room and wil shove them in my book when I'm on break! It's free and u can jot down page numbers and quotes on them :)
I love those last ones, I really want one!
I do have a few bookmarks, but I also use a lot of playing card jokers as bookmarks (don't really know why, it just happened)

I can't use bookmarks with strings because my cat will pull them out. My favorite book marks are actually pain chip cards from places like home depot or Lowes. They are strong and last through several books. :)
