Happy new year guys. I'm enjoying the videos, I'd love to have the time to get to some of the longer trails! I have a few extra items, like a Sam Splint, and roller bandages, as a good few accidents in the hills are slips/trips etc. Have you done a REC3 course yet? It's a prerequisite for the MSA. Anyway, thanks, keep it up! Eoin
Hey! Thanks for this great video. Validated everything i carry around with me. One key addition i have for me is my ‘portable bidet’. Facilities can be few and far between. The kit consists mostly of a squeeze bottle filled with water for rinsing off my lady parts. Usually, i drip dry. If further attention is need i have a small amount of toilet paper and mini zip lock bags to carry out the used paper. The kit is completed with a very small bottle of hand sanitizer. All kept together in a small nylon bag. Bright orange so I don’t leave it behind when I’m done!
I realize this is a "winter" video, but I wonder in summer if you need bug spray in Ireland? Or not such a concern? Also, do you carry anything for defending yourself against dogs?
So yes in summer I would definitely have bug spray! Not necessarily a deet spray, there’s a brand called Smidge that works really well on the midges here ☺️ As for protection from dogs, we’ve thankfully never needed anything, but there are some less-than-happy dogs out there. If you use walking poles that would probably be enough. I’ll have to make a summer pack version next summer season 😄
Thank you for the video. I am wanting to get out for a day hike soon! Unfortunately, we've had very cold weather, highs in the single digits Farenheit so it will have to wait for a bit.

That was a really great list 😊 I always have to bring tissue on my hikes ❤️
Highly informative Ellie.

Oh wow - yep, that’s quite a bit different to what we experience! So a few extra layers isn’t really going to cut it 😅😂
