I’m forever squinting too in bright lights. One thing I take is a bivvy shelter just in case the weather turns extremely bad or I get stuck somewhere. Fortunately, I’ve not had to use it yet

Yes a bivvy shelter is definitely something I need to invest in soon, got some long walks planned after this lockdown ends and a bivvy is something I should definitely be packing! In America, we call the flask a thermos, and here "flask" only refers to something you keep alcohol in, like whiskey. For a moment I thought you were having some much more exciting hikes than the one I was planning to take!

I don’t need a compass, I found a fail safe but simple way around it. North, is whichever direction I’m facing. South is behind me, east and west are easy too. You’ll be glad to know I don’t and can’t go walking. I watch things like the air ambulances and they arrive and people haven’t even got the basics. I don’t get it, my handbag is like a full medical kit. I despise wet socks, so if it’s rainy or I’m going to be walking on grass I take a spare pair, your comment about wet socks had me curling and scrunching up my toes! A very good video, very informative. I don’t know why it doesn’t have more views, a lot of people could learn a lot from the video…& that’s a lot of lots! 😀 I almost forgot foil blankets, I talk to the telly about them, people walking their dog, a little bit of weight, hardly anything, pop it in their pocket 🤦🏼♀️ If I could go out walking if need a bag twice the same for my splints and packing essentials like my solar powered straighteners

You have reminded me that I don’t have a foil blanket, so that is on the shopping list for the Peak District visit booked for early June 👍 I am with you on the sunglasses - the last thing you want to do is fall or trip over because you can’t see where you are going, especially on rocky terrain near cloughs or other big drops 😬. Yes I cannot wait to get back up to the Peaks. We have some great routes planned 😀. Yes all good so far, we have to self test with LFD’s twice a week which is always reassuring. Hopefully not too long before I get the jab! Take care and looking forward to your future videos. You should definitely have a go at the Crowden Clough route onto Kinder if you have not done so. It’s a good one, with the option of a waterfall climb 😬😬. If our nerve holds my mate and I may tackle Wildboarclough up near Crowden which definitely adds greater challenge😬and reward!
Great video - I’d like to see a follow up video on suggested first aid kids and the pieces you put together. My additional pieces that I might add in (depending on the time of year and/or location of where I’m walking) are a multi tool, bic lighter, spork, some eye drops, 750ml Vapur collapsible water bottle, packable 15L bag for life (from Decathlon) and earbuds. I also have a couple of cheap black plastic d-carabiners on my bag to clip my cap or face mask to plus a small Hero Clip
Really nice set up! I take much the same. Only difference is I usually add a group shelter (bothy bag). I tend to think it's worth the 250g it weighs just to get out of the weather, and I use it a fair bit (mostly to sit and drink warm juice...so glam).
Great vid and I’ve sent it to my mates who are going to the Peaks with me soon. Saves me going though the list haha. One thing I’d add to your kit. A dry back for the main compartment. Even with a decent day sack with a rain cover, I always use a dry sack inner for that extra bit of piece of kind that your down jacket etc, will be bone dry for you when you it.

Decent load out. I like to carry a small multitool, hand sani, pen and backup torch, all on a 8x8cm grid it I modified. Tiny but extremely useful.
