Thank you. I was waiting for this video for a long time. I wanted to buy the X-bolt but didn't due to the fact that bolt disassembly is not recommended and I do want to be able to do it in case something goes wrong in the woods.
Too bad Browning went Rube Goldberg. I have a bench with copper padded jaws. Used it to hold striker base. I want to drill a small say .062 hole thru the side of the striker base and use a pin to hold the collar back in cocked position just like we see on past FN Mausers, Rugers and others.
Great video. Does anyone know if there is a bolt disassembly tool that would work for a browning Xbolt? I tried this method but the shroud is twisted super tight and it requires significant force for the back of the firing pin to clear the bolt body.
@charlesgarcia7004 I'm not sure if there is a tool for this, sorry. This method should work! You do need to pull back hard enough to allow the spring to collapse enough to allow the bolt to be undone, though!
I was wondering how to do that! Any tips or methods on improving the trigger pull weight? I put in an aftermarket spring...it's still rather heavy. Thanks
@misterlewgee8874 I no longer have the x-bolt, but I believe there is a trigger spring adjuster screw that you can adjust. The screw head has some sort of red resin covering it that you will need to pick out first.
@@petersgq351c I've done that..with aftermarket lighter spring..still prob about 3 pounds. Thought I'd ask incase you knew about polishing the Sears....danger zone talk...ha... apparently they're chrome and polished already. Was thinking of selling it...but...I shot 2x 1 inch groups at 200byards. But for foxing...a lighter trigger would be good....I'm.wondeiing if the. Safety is still on while I'm squeezing I guess...I could pay a gunsmith...about $200 I recall Buy a timney and lose bolt lock. $500 Or Destroy the frigger by trying to polish it.... Again.. Thanks.

I would pad the surface of the wire to guarantee I wasn't damaging the sear surface

Or
Destroy the frigger by trying to polish it....

Does a dirty bolt cause lower velocity?
@eddielombera5862 It could cause a missfire, but I'm not sure about lower velocity.
Not esp. A dirty greasy spring may cause a misfire.
@CZ49 I assumed he meant a dirty bolt on the inside, like grit on the spring!
Does this method work on an A Bolt as well
I haven't had an A bolt before, so I can't answer your questions sorry
Look at your bolt?
There was a video for the Abolt and I can't find it anymore. I have an Abolt also.
