    Man you are one of a kind. This video gives me hope that there are still good people out there, that are joyful and thorough about it all. Easy to listen to. I can really tell you prepared to speak about what you are experienced in. The way you speak with advice, and cautionary statements... especially with concern for your customers product right down to caring for the bezel.. (and even the way you explained that).... As a former Radio Shack corporate employee from 2004-2008, it would be a dream to have a coworker or manager like you in our district. Anyways, thanks for the video! About to make my wife happy by replacing some LEDs :)

    If anyone else ends up with any stripped bezel screws like I did (thanks to manufacturer over tightening them). Use a dremel cutter blade to cut a slit into the screw heads - they're very soft so use a light touch - then using a small flathead screwdriver and a bit of muscle they'll come right out and can be reused. Use caution so as to not damage the edge of the bezel when cutting the slit.

    Love the video, very well explained. I plan on doing this in the near future. My screen has a blue tint, and from what I have read it is probably the backlights.. I wonder however if it could be a board problem vs a led strip problem as the whole screen has that blue tint, not just areas. Would all go bad at the same time? Thanks again.

Also, I can hear the Relay clicking once when I connect the power, and also once when I remove the power cable.
    I tried replacing the Power board (EAY64388811) with a new one, but the problem is still there.
    What could it be? Is there anything likely causing this specific issue that I might check and fix on either the T-Con board (LG HV490QUBB26 / 47-6021086) or the Motherboard (EAX66943504 / EBT64237742)?

      Hello, disconnect both the wifi module and the bluetooth module and let me know if the tv comes on. Also try disconnecting the cable between the t-con and the main board. Using the remote turn on the tv and tell me if the red light blinks and go off.

    Hey! I have an LG (43UJ6200)
    That I've just confirmed have a backlight problem and am having a hard time finding the correct strips for them. Do you know where I could get a set? Are they made specifically for that model or is there a type of set that works with a bunch of them. Thanks!

    • @Patch1stripeTVParts
      @Patch1stripeTVParts  3 года назад +1

      Your tv is unique they won't cross with anything else. The way I determined that was seeing how many different model use the same power supply as yours. None. The backlight has to be compatible with the power supply. Hope this help.

    Hi There wondering if you could point me in the right Direction I have a 75U6190PUB 70" LG. The screen went grey one day while watching it. The sound still works when I turn it on. I've tried unplugging the TV and all HDMI cables for 5 minutes and trying a reset. Just wondering if you think it's Faulty LED Strips or a Faulty TCON Board?

    How should I pry the screen loose if I dont have the suction cups. I cant seem to get under anywhere to lift the screen. Possible it could be glued all around?

    • @Patch1stripeTVParts
      @Patch1stripeTVParts  3 года назад +1

      Depending on the brand of the tv, it will be glued. The maker don't want you to repair it. Now as far as suction cups, if you have to use any force to lift the screen, It will split the screen deeming it no good.

      @@Patch1stripeTVParts thanks for the reply. We got the screen off. It ended up having double sided sticky pad all around the perimeter. It's a 2014 65" LG...every single bulb was toast. At some point this thing may have been on fire. There were scorch marks near one bulb about 5 inches wide around the bulb. Anyway this was my first attempt at taking apart an LED tv, learned a little....cried a lot, and in the end after about 5 hours my wife and I just ordered a new TV. :) glad I found your video though, it was very helpful.

    I have an LG UJ6300 60". The top half of the screen is not completely dark, the picture is still visible but more dim than the bottom. Does this sound like the LED backlighting is failing? If so, do you sell that specific kit & ship to Canada? My closest repair shop is 2.5 hours drive away. Might as well try it myself. Thanks in advance.

    Do you know how to test led strip to find bad led using multimeter on lg tv

    • @Patch1stripeTVParts
      @Patch1stripeTVParts  4 года назад

      Hello, put your meter in diode mode to test the each individual led. The diode mode uses voltage for the test so reversing the lead between positive and negative the led should light up.

    • @Patch1stripeTVParts
      @Patch1stripeTVParts  3 года назад

      put the meter on diodes which output .7 volts . enough voltage to light the individual leds.

      I agree, I put my arms under panel for the lift or if the panel is larger, I have a large 1/4 inch clear panel used for edge light led that I kept from a harvest that I cover with cloth and slide under the panel that gives me more ridge support on my panel lifts. This really works the best.

    • @Patch1stripeTVParts

      I have a different take on this subject. I like to replace all led strips in a tv or none at all. I try to keep my reputation solid by not having any repeat failures. Time is money and if I have redo a job for free, I loose my wages for the time it take me to redo that job over again when I can be working on another tv. Saving a customer money at your expense and reputation is not a move for a boss technician. I say this with love.

      I am going to take a respectful guess - you have a lot of customers. A successful business man once told me - if you have too many customers, you are not charging enough. There is all types of clientele out here and you can select the best by the price that you value your expertise. I make good money without having a revolving door. Don't de-value our trade by not charging enough for what you do. Less problems also go with this theory.
