Megadeth is probably my favorite band at this point, but Jon Schaffer is by far the smartest man in Heavy Metal on planet earth. He knows so much about history and politicians. He's said he doesn't talk about it in music because music is a way to get away from all of that. But his interviews are awesome if you get him talking politics. ;)
I met him a few years ago. A friend and I went to Morrisound studio because we knew they were recording their. We knocked on the door and he answered. He gave us a tour of the whole place, it was pretty cool. Nice guy, a bit rough but cool guy.
I always describe Iced Earth as the raw power of early metallica, the ambitious themes of maiden, and the sheer instrumental perfection of judas priest.
Ok, if you close your eyes or minimize this video, you'd swear this interview was with Brad Pitt. I never noticed how close their voices are until now. Holy crap!

Thats was around the time that Kiss did their last makeup concert and Wendy O Williams and the Plasmatics open up for Kiss with her ablum Coup Da Tat which kicked Azz in Market Square Arena in Indianapolis IN. Those was some good times!

Yes. Conservative, politically. And Jon Schaffer even has cancelled himself from liberal metal magazines and shows. So as you can see his fame goes down from that. Not alot of exposure. If you look it up on google you can probably find the article of jon and some guy interviewing him, and Jon get pretty mad at the interview guy for making America look bad and his views look bad. Good stuff! keep it up JON! fight for the truth!
Swear his head sounds kinda filled up in this interview. That, and I swear his face looks a little red & puffy. Does he have the flu or something in this vid? Otherwise, I do have to agree with other folks: He's an AWESOME guitarist. ;)
