Your step-by-step was great. You showed that one brass springs is difficult, yet mine is opposite side that can't be loosened. I'm having trouble inserting the gear.
Thanks for sharing this. My friend's swing-away just broke and warranty service is 2 months out. I just ordered the part and am going to try and fix it.
@@TotallyNormal- I ordered the Mcmaster part, received it 2 days later and installed it last night. Working great so far. *not to say it was easy, those gears/cams are a PITA and broke an Allen wrench trying to get one of the screws out. Thanks again for posting this!
I've been planning on calling my provider and telling them I want the old swing away arm back and I also want the extra wide arm rests to replace with the original ones. On the two-way swing away arm, the joystick is too close to the arm and mounted much lower than it would normally be on the original swing away resulting in a Calist on my thumb. I was measured for this chair plus measurements were taken from my old chair. It must have been done on a Friday afternoon as the whistle blew.
No, the timing belt can't be thicker, it is 1/4in. I found and ordered one 15in circumference, 3/8in thick, and .5 teeth apart, it fits well on the gears, but too thick for the tightening pulleys. What is the part number and in what site?
Hi bro, greeting from Taipei! And thank you for the mass information you provided. I have a question of F3 , that is how to adjust the seat height? My seat plate seemed to be too high for me transferring, need to adjust the height, thanks again!
Hello. I am on a mission to get my father wheeling again, looking for some troubleshooting advice since I cannot get a local tech to fix his chair and I'm driving 5 hours to help him out. The issue he is having is he moves the joystick forward and he will go in any random direction. Could thus be a cleaning action or a controller issue. Any advice from your experience is greatly appreciated.
I diagnosed it as faulty transaxle, nobody services this, replacement with motor only, so looks like I'll be rolling up the sleeves and investaging the issue myself. I'll check out your Videos you've done for guidance.
Do you know how the quantum traction control works? I put dual tires on my 4front and the traction control keeps sending it to limp mode. Is there a sensor or is that a programmed feature?
they use these weird castor angle sensors inside the rear castor swivel assemblies.. its a horrible implementation! errors are part of life with the 4front version 1 unfortunately.. they can be calibrated with a programmer.. which sometimes helps a bit. but thats just how they are :^/
@@TotallyNormal- I took both out of their position and put the plastics back on. The traction control completely went away. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your tip. That sensor was driving me crazy.
@@TotallyNormal- I just pulled them out. There is a little space in front of the magnet where the sensors will fit. I left a magnet on it and left the sensor attached and closed everything back up. I haven’t had another traction control warning sense. I had put dual wheels on the wheelchair because there is a lot of sand in my yard, but I was having traction control problems before they just got worse with four tires.

I got it done, the tension is strong on the gear of the swing-away joystick mount

Let me know how it works! I haven’t personally use one of those aftermarket belts yet.. but people tell me they work well

Great video. Thank you.

The only reason quantum used belts in the swing away is another a-hole brand is gatekeeping the patent on the chain driven swing away.
Anyone know where to buy a replacement belt?
Do you have a video on how to repair the swing away joystick arm on the q6 edge

Where can I find the belt?
They send them to a repair company just like Sun microsystems did with their computers...

I tried DM on twitter, won't go through, Which programmers can I get for my Quantum chair? Thank you, great videos and very informative.
You can't get a factory level programmer. It's also very locked down firmware (Quantum is well known for this).
why quantum makes easy to fix wheelchair??

@@TotallyNormal- I noticed that sensor. I had to grease and repair a bearing. I didn't know it had anything to do with traction control.

interesting.. did ya remove the sensors, or the magnets glued to the castor bolt stems? also are the sensors still connected to the chair's harness?

my wires broke from swinging, but my arm is good still.
