That's not a rant, That's just telling the truth And most people don't want to hear the truth Because it makes them uncomfortable And would rather turn a blind eye to it Then have to deal with The truth.

Watched it until the end as you suggested, and yes I quite agree with you Dan.
The disabled bathroom I went to ment that you couldn't shut the door and I was sitting there with my trousers around my ankles with people walking past 😬.
Since the incident in January I haven't left my property as I have been diagnosed with ptsd on top of everything else, I had a phone call from the police and I told them that I intend prosecuting those people responsible, so you think that you're rant was long, wait until I get into the court room 😮.
Thanks Dan for highlighting the issues that have a negative impact on our lives, I love a good rant 😂👍.

360 GoPro camera video amaze me.
Because when you watching the video, you can watched the trees that is standing straight up... that is definitely slowly been over into a curb. ( I love this kinda video. )
Those who are not disabled they have no clue what it really like to be disabled when we cannot find things that should be designed for a handicap.

At my former employer our new building parking lot had to accessible parking spots, van accessible. Shortly after occupying the building the two spots disappeared and became the executives parking, as it was near the entrance. At the time I was not using a chair, however, when I asked about it I was told in no uncertain terms to keep my mouth shut. I feel your frustration.

The accessibility rant reminds me of 2 previous workplaces one gave constant run around and excuses about installing power doors and the other took 6 months, I think sharing a building with the township offices pushed the building owner to actually do it. It’s strange when there is funding available to pay for minor building changes and businesses won’t take advantage

Not to encourage or instigate rants, but I actually enjoy the rants because we can all relate. Also as LMT069 posted below, his wife got her foot broken from what sounds like a known issue with an automatic door. This highlights the importance of speaking up and reporting because a lot of these are not only acessibility issues, but accidents just waiting to happen. A simple broken foot can ultimately lead to someone's death from diabetic wound infection or amputation. The latter leading to have to be refit for new medical equipment, waiting for it to be approved/purchased/delivered (that whole fiasco), and more appointments that no one wants to have to do.

  • @DanOnWheels

Watched the entire video and agree with your rant. At least your city code compliance actually looks at the ADA laws…mine doesn’t. Another problem is with looking up ADA laws as a lot of the old internet pages (superseded laws) are still up and have more hits than the new internet pages so they show up first when doing an internet search. So, it’s important to make sure the page you’re looking at is actually current law. I know this is a big problem with the parking lot requirements. This last Sunday I was blocked out of my minivan ramp van because someone parked directly on the access isle. When confronted the first thing he said was I was just getting something really quick. That’s the worst excuse someone can give and instantly sets me off on a tangent.
