Taking nothing away from Michael - he was an amazing talent - but Sammy is the king. He could sing, dance, play almost any instrument you put in front of him and had the kind of class that nobody could touch. He really was in a class of his own. He survived so much and his music and style are still timeless. What he had to go through was unbelievable. Michael - he was amazing, no doubt. But he couldn't hold a candle to Sammy. RIP, Mr. Showbiz. RIP, King of Pop.

@RED PILL PORTAL Davis wasn't a Satanist. He was going through a mid life crisis and he latched on to a psuedo-cult of wanna bees.
Davis later said the group made him feel relevant and not a has been but said they were mostly a bunch of imoressionable minds motivated by drugs and sex.

one of the most honest, direct show appearances I've seen from any performer. I'm in my late 40's & gave up drinking 10 years ago, and like him, sometimes I do miss a hit of henessy or brandy! I miss Mr. Davis and wish we could have had him a little longer...

Sammy had bundles of talent...he could do anything, sing, dance, play the drums, act..he was an amazing entertainer. He faced so much rascism in his early career and he opened the doors for other black entertainers later on in the entertainment industry. I saw Sammy preform in London with Frank Sinatra and Liza Minnelli just before he tragically passed away. Sinatra and Minelli were fantastic but watching Sammy preform live just blew me away! Physically he was short in stature but to watch him on stage, his talent was huge. Sammy was one if the greatest entertainers and a class act.

These interviews just made my day. These two gentlemen have extremely high prominent positions in my own loving hall of favorites. Two classically amazing gentlemen. Talented, gorgeous, entertaining, true genuius in making people enjoy the time spent watching them. Bless you Sammy, even after all these years, I still say 'Why Me' was one of the best books I ever read. Sammy Davis Jnr was a favorite of mine as a child. Learning more about classic stars like this is the real genius of great interviewing. Much love, a fan, Theresa 💜🙋‍♀️☯️

Sammy didn't fully make it through until the 1960s and 1970s. He was part of the Rat Pack with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. It really helped him with his career, because the Rat Pack wouldn't perform in places that wouldn't properly allow Sammy Davis Jr to be a guest.
He really fought hard early on, and his efforts paid off in a big way. It's really intriguing to hear part of his life story with Arsenio Hall. Still a life lesson that should be taught to younger audiences.

  • @pagalley1

The glass eye looks very realistic...On a more important matter though, Sammy gave the best explanation I ever heard about his being labeled as an "Uncle Tom" or "acting white"...People say Barack is an "Uncle Tom", but that's not true...There isn't one way to be black or white or yellow or red...People are all different and we're all shaped by our experiences and culture and we're all socialized differently, to one degree or another...It's time to put this "Oreo Cookie" label behind us.

By God's grace I got a chance to tell him in person how much I admired him and respected him as the Greatest Entertainer in 1987 - he was being honored in Oakland, Ca at the Oscar Micheaux Film Awards - during the program I went down to where he was seated with his wife Altovise (with my bold self) and in true Sir Sammy Davis Jr style - after hearing my entiments he took my hand and kissed it ! Amazing

What a Classy Gentlemen I can remember as a youth in the late 60's and 70's we would watch Sammy Frank & Dean you could see the respect and love they had for one another. But you know what it did during those formative years that we did not even know was happening it impressed in our minds we are all the same together if you leave two babies together and not teach them hate they will grow up loving and respecting one another.
Sammy was a major major reason Blacks in America and race relations began to improve and the issue of discrimination rose to the surface more so than any other. The unfairness injustice against our Afro American brothers and sisters had to be addressed and corrected. We have come such a long long way with much distance left to travel we will get there.
God Bless Sammy, Frank, Dean, for there bravery to stand up against foolish hatred of a skin tone. We are all together in this day race called life we need one another to get through it.
