Me actually looking at this as a hairstyle for myself lol. I'm still coming up with my own short hand for certain hairstyles and this is super helpful I always just sort of scribble through braids 😂
This is just a question, but I’m wondering, how do you break down references for the different braids you do? (If you do use references, or when you were practicing to get better at them.)
A good tip in general when studying reference for art is to break down the object into it's basic shapes and study how light affects that shape to give the object it's form. He does it in this video when he starts the braids off as a basic cylinder then adds the diamond -esque shapes over the cylinder. The crosshatching to represent the hair strands and highlights is an example of using light combined with shape to create form. You can apply these steps to just about any study and learning to understand texture can take you even further since texture affects light.
Can’t help but laugh when he says noodles The final drawing of the lady is super pretty 😊 Thanks for taking the time to make small videos for tips like always ❤
Just started looking at your tutorials and the way you explain each step is fabulous! As a retired teacher, I appreciate how much work goes into these videos to help us novices to attempt drawing and/or coloring!❤ You should be VERY proud of your alert! 💕
