I don't own his private life. ''one of irelands best'' is a high, high compliment, for a country that breathes music...you see it as an insult...therefore I don't see you as someone with a great understanding or appreciation of music..... I don't tolerate drunks myself, but Shane and i don't hang out.
Yes a songwriting genius for sure
I saw Shane McGowan in Lily's Bordello in Dublin and he looked completely sober and together and I wondered whether the complete drunk thing is more of an act? It was 3am on a Saturday. Either way, I LOVE his music. His lyrics touch my soul and he is a true talent.
New interviewier needed
no matter what he does, i cant help but love this man
shane your nuts we love u man and god bless u
According to Wiki, he's still alive! I must look him up!
This man is still alive and I don`t know how.
King!
good Luck! Good rest!
The Irish never give up! It's one of our strongest traits!
Not Irish and won't pretend to be but I hear about the ah sure it will be grand culture that prevails through everything
@@dr.aisaitl7439 Shane is definitely Irish
@@user-ys5yv2nz6w I know, I'm saying I'm not Irish
I've been a fan since I was about 15 of the Pogues.Im 38 now and still love you're fucking music! Shane, you're only 50 ,is you're brain
Shane is a very intelligent guy, when he's sober. So you'll never catch him that way.
Anybody who self-applies the name DeeJay is an imbecilic berk whose opinions are null and void.
@@fintansmith209 Oh ffs, just stop. They guy is a drunken fuck-up. He has no talent. He writes like an adolescent. There's nothing witty or intelligent about his lyrics. All he does is glorify drinking and abuse:
"But I was brutal, I was ignorant, I was cruel, I was brash, I never gave a damn about the beauty that I smashed. No sadist, I took delight, in making my Love cry, now I'd pray for a single kiss from her, to be lashed and crucified."
You have to be pretty fucked up yourself to relate to those lyrics. Sorry, not sorry.
Legend.
He’s speaking the language of gods
JOHNNY WALKER AND JOSE CUERVO
Odd, I thought he was speaking in tongues. I think a exorcism is in order. It would probably kill him, but hey... would it be any real loss?
Rest in peace Shane!
I wonder how many times his wife has yelled in the morning. Shane you pissed the bed again
Google it
*shit
One talented barsted love his music CHEERS!!
Sad too see the final nurons gone waltzing matilda, RESPECT!
To.
man I never get ired of the Hissing laugh. NEVER, fucking a decade plus of listening to this man, and still LOVE THAT GOD DAMNED HISS
Dirty ole town, dirty old town.
Classic folk song. From 1947. I enjoy the Pogue's version the most though. The rhythm, the way he sings it, not that his voice is particularly better, but the passion he sings it with is, in my opinion. The heart and soul he put into the words, the message sent through musicl
Shane? He's a legend.
MacGowan is a poster child for 'This is what will happen to you when you drink 22 hours a day 24/7'
You'll be successful and famous?
If you think being famous and ending up like alcohol brain damaged MacGowan is something to aspire to, good luck to ya! If the man is not in hospital he soon will be.
Brain damaged or not he's still doing what he loves and will always be admired. Yeah I wouldn't drink that much either but I'm not him so who am I to tell him how he should live?
"22 hours a day 24/7" what? 22 hours a day 24 hours a day 7 days a week?
wat?
I mean, I’d be happy if I was the frontman for The Pogues. It’s a job so mighty that you’d have to drink to loosen up.
What a fkn legend
I love this man and all of his work, but it is a fucking shame to see hin like this; being so drunk you barely understand a word coming from him.
Shane Macgowan will never die....because he is the Angel of Death
I know he accepts it and whatever but if someone took this video back to 1986 and showed it to him, I wonder if he'd still drink like he does
he.s class .could never have wrote what he did without a drink..more power to your elbow ,,,shane macgowan.........
This man is a God
Shane MacGowan forever!!!
Swear he’s pissed in every interview 🤣🤣🤣
adore this bloke
hhchchchhcccchchhchhc
Love that guy! I really fuckin do!
I love Shane MacGowan. I'm going to become an alcoholic too.
Who wants to live paycheck to paycheck until were 68. Enjoy life while you can. Shane looked to me ,to bloody enjoy his 65 years on earth. Most wont ever excell as much as him sober! He didn't care what people thought and thats the best way to live!
The thing that disappoints me most about stupid people is that they like to mock others. It makes them feel better to highlight another person's problems so that they don't have to acknowledge their own. But even lower than those stupid people are the ones that would upload a video like this to get views and subscribers at somebody else's expense. So I'd like to give a big FUCK YOU to Absolute Radio for uploading this, and a FUCK YOU TOO to all the people leaving negative comments about Shane MacGowan.
I agree mate he was ah legend no need to rip the piss out of him boys ah talent
+ForViewingOnly Love it
Genius SHANE was flying I remembered north side Dublin very similar action heard at street at night SLAUNTHE!
