Wow! Quoted $510.93 to replace the timer by a local appliance company (after a lot of runaround and the wrong part ordered). Watched your video, ordered the correct part from Genuine Replacement Parts. Delivered the next day - $135.89 total. Easily replaced it ourselves, thanks to your video, and works like a charm! You saved us $376! THANK YOU!
This video was amazing and the dryer now turns itself off after the desired runtime! The step by step process, viewed on my laptop immediately next to the project, was followed almost to the letter. A slightly different mounting system was used on the dryer to mount the timer so the old mounting bracket needed to be exchanged as well - we have a Whirlpool knockoff dryer so two screws later and we were good to go! Thank you and keep up the great work!).

Omg I have the same problem I think... It keeps tumbling forever, won't stop unless I open the door and has no heat!!! Did this fix it for you? @leelomoe
thank you thank you thank you … my timer and knob broke on my whirlpool gas drier … a local appliance store quoted me $225 for the timer … $50 for a knob … and $100 for labor ($375) … I found your channel … spent $130 for the parts on Amazon … and did the repair myself in under thirty minutes … you helped me save a huffy change of money 👍🏻
Not sure why there are any Thumbs Down as this is a great DIY video. Would never have guessed a putty knife is used to release the control panel from the dryer base. Thank you!
Thank you so much. I entered the Whirlpool model number here in RUclips and your video popped up. I watched it twice. Called Coast Appliance Parts. They had one timer unit in stock. If I didn't have to stop and throw the toy for my three Belgian Malinois then the job would have taken about 10 minutes. Spike is staring at me now as I type this. lol Anyways I wanted to thank you because the video was so very helpful. My timer was good but the plastic piece on the shaft attached to the timer stripped and broke off so I needed to replace the unit and not just the knob. I was regretting attempting to fix it myself until I saw your video. I also read a few comments first and I knew there was no need to look elsewhere for help. 👏👏👏

Good work Do you know whats wrong with simpson 4kg dryer if the dryer is only spinning on one side drum goes one minute for counter clockwise and stops for one minute and running again for in same direction for one minute
I have the exact same model.....turns out the timer motor is bad, not the contacts of the timer itself.... can you buy JUST the motor?...can't fnd that anywhere...seems THIS drier model has a timer assembly that costs nearly double everyone else's.....although they all look very much alike.....figures, right?
The stem on mine just snapped off a few days ago. I could not find a replacement for just that piece anywhere. So, I unfortunately, had to replace the entire thing. It was $90 bucks (a little over $100 with shipping and tax). It was the cheapest I could find the part as most other places were asking for over $120 or up to $150 for the part.

It cost that much for the timer?

My timer needs replacement. does this this timer fit all whirlpool dryers
Thanks
Why could it be that after replacing this, my dryer is now only not starting at 30 timer and not heavy heat at 70… 🤔
What's the part number?
