    Fun fact: This company also makes tasty syrup. If you visit the distillery and do a whiskey flight, they give you a shot of syrup to finish it off. It pairs quite nicely! 🤤

    6:21 -- I have an idea for a new channel. Daniel sits in a chair, sips whiskey at a rate of 1 sip every 10-20 minutes, and in between he discusses the things he hates. First episode: Springbank 10 and third-wave Ska.

    The weekend I went to Austin to drop these bottles off, Woodinville was releasing a PX and Suaternes cask finished bourbon.
    It is one of the benefits to being affiliated now with Dr Bill Lumsden at Ardbeg/Glenmorangie/Hennessey.
    They also now have a petite syrah, chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon cask finished bourbon.

    I'm curious what proof the finished Bourbon was released at? I know that Woodinville offers a 132 proof, but Rex and Dan seemed to be too easily derailed by the barrel number and the texture of coconut. Which is on point for them, and what keeps me coming back.
    Cheers, MB's!

    I was my dad's "remote" but not just the TV no there were beers fetched and cracked open for him as I approached, packs of cigarettes as well packed down towards the filters cellophane and foil removed ready to pop one out and be smoked. This stemmed from his/our job he was a tree trimmer(arborist) I was his groundman from age10-21when he was up in his tree working I gopher-ed EVERYthing for him then even if the chainsaw ran out of gas he'd lower it on the climb rope I'd gas oil grease and quick start the saw "Never send me up a cold saw or I'll come down out of that tree and you'd best been running as I climbed down!"

    Not related to this as I am not a bourbon fan but... For guys and girls in the uk Lagavulin 8 is £38 in Tesco's at the moment which frankly is a good deal 🤑

    • @awkwardme5375
      @awkwardme5375 2 года назад

      Ever since Trump imposed the tariffs, Lagavulin 16 is about $100 USD now. Prior to the tariffs, it was about $70. And I live in a controlled state, which means every store legally sticks to the same price, to the penny. Now with covid inflation, bourbon and rye are increasing in price. You just can't win.

    So if you made a whiskey and then aged it in Applewood barrel. That wouldn't be legally whiskey even if you made all other requirements?

    • @awkwardme5375
      @awkwardme5375 2 года назад

      Legally, whiskey can only be called whiskey if it's aged in oak. Different whiskies will have different specifications for that oak (new vs. used), and the time rested will also determine what that whiskey can be called, but you're correct. If it ain't oak, it ain't whiskey. Oak IS the flavour of whiskey.
