Thank you for this. I’m six months post stroke and foot drop is my biggest lingering issue. All in all I have been very fortunate that my stroke did minimal damage and my recovery has been quick

I’m doing good walking takes lots of exercise. I use a ball and roll it around under my foot to help me control the movement of my foot

Having learned the triggers of spasticity I have learned to use it to my advantage.

that is such an insightful statement, because there once you learn the triggers and behavior of spasticity, there really are moments when it can be used to one's advantage with mobility.

Thank you so much for this video. I suffer from foot drop and spasticity. Several years ago I tore my ATFL in pool therapy on the stroke ankle. It has given me nothing but problems since, and currently I am awaiting surgery the beginning of Sept. Hopefully, this will help with the swelling and misery (but it wont help my foot drop)! Really enjoy your videos!

Hi, thank you for this informative video. My mother recently had a second attack of brain hemorrhage, due to which she has lost consciousness. Though she's opening eyes but there are not any reactions. It would be really helpful if you can guide me what we can do to help her gain consciousness back 🙏

My patient is not able to make dorsiflexion when knee is straight, he can only dorsiflex the ankle when knee is flexed, is it because the calf muscles are so tight?
And he can poorly flex his knee when standing what can i do other than stretching the quads and Reinforcement for hams?
How many reps my patient should do in this case? I usually let him make it for 10 reps and 2 sets
    Thank you ❤

It took a year for me to do simple dorsiflexion. (2 strokes in LR Pons, 2 yrs ago). I now do 4 sets of 25, building up from 2 sets of 2. I also do an ankle weight on top of my foot (3lbs) and dorsiflex Im up to 3 sets of 10. I have a hardtime still with dorsiflexion with straight knee and do passive movements. You are right about the Hamstrings I feel I need them but they are weak. I am slowly healing proximal to distal It seems ankle is just starting to respond

I'm a little over two years post stroke. I've regained many functions but i still didn't walk "right" and i think it's because i don't have much control of my ankle and still have foot drop. I'm going to do these stretches and exercises, but are they still effective for someone who had the stroke over two years ago?

The saebo stretch was very helpful in correcting my foot drop earlier on in my recovery. Three years post stroke, I suffer with my big toe and the one next to it curling while walking and would love to know how to work on correcting it. When it happens it can become painful. Thank you
