Always look forward to your bite sized reviews, tips and tricks etc, particularly because you know what kind of stuff the dj community like to know, and how excited we get about things. As a Prime 4, MCX800O, and XDJ XZ, owner, I can’t justify buying the SC, as much as I like the inbuilt speaker concept. It was an oversight of the prime 4 not to have an Aux input; even the XDJ has it, and for us mobile guys, it has its use (plus not sacrificing one of the line channels).

Exactly why I got one in Addison to my Prime 4. Portability, solid build, plenty of mixingpower. I'm very happy with the unit.

Steve I like how the SC4 has that Pioneer 900NXS layout style. When the Prime 4’s layout is different. So if I had to do a gig with a NXS mixer than it would be so bad.

Great video comparison. I already purchased the Prime 4 but it's in backorder. Ironically, I might get the Live 4 instead. Just simply because the of the simplicity & design of the layout & the weight of it.

What did you go for and was it good?
I’m torn between the two. Here’s what I like from both device
      Sc live 4
      1 standard layout like pioneer
2Built in speaker (can’t annoy others)
      3 £1000
4 song info on jog wheel
      Prime 4 plus
1 can plug in turntables or cd’j
      2stems
      3metal face plate
If I buy sc live 4 at £1000 I can play right out of box.
If I buy prime 4 plus at £2000 I still have to buy around 50w speakers and Amp.
I just don’t want to be unhappy with what I go with.

great - great review you answered a lot of things i had doubts about sc 4. thank you so much!sc live 4 really would be great if it was compatible with traktor, Denon really needs to think about it, it will have a lot more sales because there is no stand alone unit that is compatible with traktor. it is a big gap in the market that someone needs to take advantage of .

@@spirosbulk It makes sense, and your English is good :) I agree that the screen is a bit small for 4 decks, but I'm sure with some time you could get used to it. I went for a Prime 4 about a year ago, and the 10 inch screen is about perfect in my opinion, plus it is adjustable which is really good.
Personally, I just struggle to understand why people would want to plug a laptop into a stand alone system - are there no 4 channel controllers that you could use instead? I'm sure that would be a much more affordable solution.

      @@TheDJLabah, thanks.
Man, I’ve wanted to get back into dj’ing for ages after 10 year break.
In your honest opinion, is the sc live 4 really good for actual DEEP mixing? The effects and pads are really cool and I think I’ll like them but I’m an old school dj with technic 1210’s.
Can I really ride the mix on sc live 4, just as well as I did on my turntables?
Mi know this may feel different but part of me thinks it won’t feel fun to mix on. Like may feel like going back to belt drive turntables that I learned to mix on.
Part of me thinks this sc live 4 may not be great for long mixes and is more for beginners or for those djs that do all the effects and beat pads etc but not much actual mixing.
I’ve watched so many videos of people dj’ing on sc live 4 and they never touch the pitch and when they do it’s only a little.
I think some are using the sync function.
Again, is it horrible experience mixing properly on this device ? And that’s why they have the Sync function?
If the prime 4 plus had club layout, I’d deff buy it but it costs twice the price of sc live 4 and without club layout, I’m unsure if I’ll like it.
Mainly because the effects are at back of unit.
Then again, I see the sweep effects on prime 4 plus, near Crossfader and part of me thinks that those 4 effects are possibly the main ones most use and if so, I’d be happy enough with prime 4 plus and it would be nice to have stems in future and to plug in turntables.
With all that said, I like the idea of £1000 for sc live 4 over £2000 for prime 4 plus
And if I buy sc live and I love it, I could always buy prime 4 plus or the pioneer equivalent, in the future.
Sorry for all the info but long story short.
Do you recommend the sc live 4 at £1000 ? If you really can do perfect manual mixes without sync feature, ? Thanks I’m advance.

Not really. Prime 4 plus has stems and you can plug in turntables and cd’j . You can’t do that on sc live 4 and that’s a big deal.

    • @djmartinsk
      @djmartinsk 2 года назад

OMG... How can you compare SC Live 4 and FLX? :D :D FLX Only software (MIDI) Controller! SC Live 4 is FULL Standalone audio DJ system (Not computer required). SC Live 4/2 have computer built in. SC Live has perfectly tuned internal CPU processing, Tuned Linux OS as the platform on which the Engine OS works.
FLX6 can not do absolutely nothing that SC Live 4 can do (without computer). Not to mention the sound quality. Especially mic preamp quality.
FLX and SC live are incomparable products. FLX is a completely different technical category of DJ equipment. I don't need a full size jog, if im not a scratch DJ. For speeding up and slowing down the song using the jog wheel, a 4-inch jog wheel is also completely sufficient. (SCLive have 6-inch Jog). Good for scratching also.
